  1. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - Less than a week after being named to Team Canada for the World Junior Championships, goaltender Carter Fetterly has been released from Saskatoon. With the surprise signing of rookie goaltender Cal Conway, Fetterly’s roster spot was needed. Saskatoon GM McWolf addressed Fetterly’s lack of motivation as the reason for his release.

Fetterly posted a 4-1-1 record, 0.879 SV% and 3.87 GAA in 8 games with Saskatoon this season, respectable numbers for the VHLM. Showing up to the practice facility is a different story for Carter, however. “It’s kind of sad, he hasn’t been to practice for months”, said team captain Adam Frence. “It’s hard to improve if you don’t show up to practice”.

When asked for comment, former teammate and Team Canada winger Timothy Brown had this to say about Fetterly; “Our backup goalie isn’t even on a VHLM roster. It's kind of embarrassing”. With the World Juniors starting next week, goaltender Woody Mcpine is expected to get most of the starts for Canada.

For some of us, role claiming doesn't make sense. But trust that I have the best interest of the town at heart. Ultimately to quote one Jim Gordan, "I'm the hero the electric boogaloo deserves, but not the one it needs right now."

This is a really roundabout way of saying you don't have a claim, lmao

I kinda do. I feel like we as the town have a huge leg up now, and being able to point out any inconsistencies in claims/stories will really help narrow stuff down.

Also there are so many high value targets right now lol so idk if it will even matter much for you

It's a mind game. I just saw this same tactic in the show Vikings. Vote for the enemy King but persuade all to vote for you. You win and save face. Clearly he's trying to swerve us. Thus all must clearly see the logic in ending him now before he becomes unstoppable.

It's also a tactic to avoid being lynched. It makes the town think that maybe you're the jester, so they're more reluctant to lynch to you.

    1. It's been a roller coaster of a first half, and the Saskatoon Wild sit at 7th place past the halfway point of the season. How are you feeling about the season at this point?

It's pretty certain that we're going to make playoffs at this point, and if they started today we wouldn't have to play Ottawa in the first round. I feel pretty good.

    2. The VHLM has seen a bit of a shake-up with some teams receiving new general managers. What are your thoughts about the new hires?

It has made things interesting with 2 mid-season GM hirings, that's for sure.

    3. What is your post-game ritual? @Sonnet @GustavMattias

Having a drink with team captain @Kachur

    4. What VHL player best resembles the type of player you'd like to become?

Hunter Hearst Helmsley. He currently leads the league in points, and is second in hits.

    5. What do you think is an underrated aspect that makes teams successful?

The ability to work the puck along the boards is a really underrated aspect of the game that a lot of people don't talk about.

    6. What celebrity do you think would make a great head coach?

Hockey 101 host Snoop Dogg would make the best head coach.

Oh man, this is a sad topic tbh.

Just imagine how good it would be for both leagues to team up and just... have... fun.

Please people, stop saying non-sense, it's a game at the end of the day.

  9. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - After a rough start to the season for Timothy Brown, he has finally started to produce on a red hot Saskatoon Wild team. In game 162, Brown recorded two goals in a 7 - 4 victory over the Houston Bulls.

Brown’s first goal of the game was on a feed from linemate Keith Krestanovich at 5:00 in the 2nd period. After intercepting a pass, Krestanovich passed it to Brown in the neutral zone. Brown carried it into Houston’s zone and wired a shot, which missed its mark. The puck bounced off the boards and in front of the net, where he was able to get the easy tap in. Timothy was smiling from ear to ear after the goal, relieved that a bounce went his way for once.

At 11:57 in the 2nd Houston received a double minor for roughing, allowing Saskatoon’s powerplay to go to work. Three minutes into the powerplay Saskatoon winger Kazimir Komarov received a pass and carried it into the offensive zone. He left a drop pass for Brown, who fired it past a screened John Poremba for his fifth goal of the season and second of the game.

This performance gave Timothy Brown the first star of the game. “If I’m not mistaken, this is the first time I’ve been named the first star in a Wild jersey”, said Brown. “Let’s hope it will be the first of many”.
