Malmo -- Training camp for the Nighthawks commenced today and would you look at that, Chris Hylands was actually spotted in a gym for the first time this off-season. After being unfortunately spotted by a fan with a sharp eye on an embarrassing drunken, late night burrito run, Chris seems like he is finally getting around to putting in the hours expected of a highly sought after prospect. Showing up with his good friend Victor Alexei Kamenov, the two were in high spirits, laughing and joking, as they greeted fans that were eager to see the new draft picks in Malmo gear for the first time. Both players showed no signs of jet lag after a long flight from Mexico City and it was clear to see why General Manager Frostbeard has chosen to put his faith in these two youngsters.

"I'm really happy to be here in Malmo. The city is great, the fans are awesome, and the entire team is top class from the executives down to the floor cleaners. Hearing my name get called by Frostbeard was one of the best moments of my life. Being able to be here with one of my best friends in Kamenov is just icing on the cake. I couldn't be happier right now". Chris really seems eager to prove Frostbeard was right to choose him, and, while he may have questionable off-season habits, clearly he is a talented hockey player on the right path to the top.

hylands reacted to BigTittySmitty in ESPN.mx VHLM Draft Day Interview with Kamenov - P1
ESPN.mx - Hello and good afternoon everyone. Last week, we thought our good and controversial friend of the network Mr. Kamenov thought he was saying good bye to the City of Mexico and the great citizens of this town. However, since he fell in love with us so much he wanted to rejoin us this week for another interview with his interpreter Vladimir Putin, thank you for coming today we are going to talk about the recent Victory Hockey League Draft and the upcoming Victory Hockey League/m Drafts as it is draft weekend.

*Putin translates the statement for Kamenov* - Всем привет и добрый день.

Putin - Thank you for having me on the show, first when I mentioned last week I thought I would not be back. I thought it was because I would have already been long gone from the country as was going to visit some of my family in Russia. However, this damn virus kept us contained and restricted our travel. I thought having the President of Russia as my interpreter would allow me some leniency with the Mexican Government to allow me safe passage out of Mexico so I could hold a physical and a comfortable place for me to sit down and talkto any Victory Hockey League and Victory Hockey League/m Managers. Since, I couldn't leave the beautiful country of Mexico I decided to hold virtual discord physicals and interviews with them. The physicals were conducted by properly protected Victory Hockey League medical experts and also with assistance from the Mexico City Kings chief medical officer as well to make sure all my records are up to date. But, I am Russian, I am strong bull, no need be worried. I always try when I am allowed to make time for my favorite network.

ESPN.mx - Thank you for that Viktor, last week you made some very interesting remarks about the Victory Hockey League and Victory Hockey League/m draft process about how you wanted to be addressed and how teams addressed you. Now that you have had a week to process those thoughts, went through the Victory Hockey League Draft is there anything you would have done differently now that you had this time?

Putin - No, I would not have changed a thing I did last week. It is true about identity and who I am and now I am pleased the league was able to process my legal name change and allow me to share my Russian roots to the world. I applaud the Victory Hockey League Administrative staff for processing my paperwork in probably the fastest I have seen any paper work processed. Remember, I grew up in Canada so paperwork there was so slow to process. Normally weeks to a month for something stupid and small. Thank you Victory Hockey League Administrative Staff for helping us with the paperwork and processing it.

When it came to what people are calling "The Kamenov Rant", I would not change it at all. That rant got me exposure for being who I am and it allowed those pathetic General Managers who did not take the time to sit down with us to ask me intelligent questions about who I am, what makes me tick, the works. That rant either made some teams shy away from me or potentially made them think. My god, the man is passionate we want him. That rant somehow helped me out of the blue and what many of the so called media experts around the Victory Hockey League on the day of the draft launched a media piece saying I would be a second round Victory Hockey Leaue talent. The gall, of me thinking I could be a first round talent is crazy as hell.

ESPN.mx - So, what was your reaction when the Malmo Nighthawks drafted you 8th overall in what is believed to be one amazing top heavy draft class?

Putin - At first I will be humble and say I was shocked to Washington DC (hell) where that crazy lady lives. You know the one. They say she is annoying as hell. So, yes I was shocked as hell to be honest. I thought my rant secured me a second round spot with all the more established players who had more access to the gym would have gone ahead of me. You know it's crazy when even the so-called professionals of the VSN laughed and were shocked when Malmo walked up to the podium and made the announcement. No one could have predicted it, I was on a discord call with my former Mexico City Kings team mates while we were watching the draft and I think we all just blinked and looked at each other with that one look all team mates who bond over a season learn to recognize. What .. the.. fuck... happened... is.. this.. a .. joke? Seriously, I went 8th overall behind some much better performing players in the draft and I honestly expected to be drafted my fellow team mate Chris Hylands. We laughed and then still perplexed about it.

ESPN.mx - So were there any hard feelings between you and Hylands about you getting drafted before he did?

*Putin translates the question for Kamenov* -

Putin - Fuck no. Lucky enough by the time I was invited to join the Malmo Nighthawks Draft Viewing Party as the newest member of the organization. I had three  questions on my mind. Why they took me before my buddy Hylands; what were they smoking that they picked me so high and finally... just in general why. Those were the big ones as I wanted to ask them to draft Hylands but I kept my mouth shut as I am brand new to the team.

ESPN.mx - So, when you finally joined the viewing party what was the reaction?

*Putin translates the question for Kamenov* -

Putin - It was great as you know Putin is my translator but our mutual friend Dave Smith of the BigTittySmitty Agency is my agent who negotiates my contracts for many successful players over many sports leagues. After you have a Hall of Fame Career the next thing for Smitty was to become a player agent. So, he has been an agent of many great players starting with big money making scoring phenom Asbjorn Alexandersen, David Woodward, JJ Windsor, and the Tikkanen's. Smitty knows how to get money for sure for all of us when he wants to get the coin. But I made it clear to Smitty to just have us sign our contract but have Hylands sign his deal first. I got drafted first, let him sign first. it's only fair in my opinion.

EPSN.mx - So, did Frosty tell you why he drafted you so high?

*Putin translates the question for Kamenov* -

Putin - Yes he did, the day of the draft we had probably my absolute favorite discord conference call and we actually had a conversation unlike some of the other conversations were all one sided and no input or thoughts going into it. As I mentioned, when it comes to cookie cutter question with no response and no dialogue going back and forth I give every basic answers and I will not further explain myself to them. Frosty took the time and explained he heard some good things about me from mysterious sources and honestly felt if he did not grab me then I would have been off the board by the time the next pick was available, I think a rumor was that even agent dylanjj37 was one of those people but when I asked my interpreter to use some of his resources to confirm if this was in fact true, they were unable to confirm it. But getting back to Hylands, I honestly thought if using that logic why not take Hylands and then wait for me in the second round or trade back and load up some more picks for even more amazing talent. But, I am not in charge and thank God I am not.

ESPN.mx - So, how excited are you about being drafted to the Malmo Nighthawks?

*Putin translates the question for Kamenov* -

Putin - Honestly, I am very excited that they drafted me. Once we had that sit down interview on draft day I thought they may have taken me with their second round pick but to shock the system and take me before other players that had more access to the gym than I. My goodness. When I started looking to the draft I kept an open mind on the condition that I will buy into the system my potential future General Manager will give me but I do not take bullshit or give it. I tell it like it is. If you do not like it that is your choice and I will respect you for that. Malmo so far has been great to me and they even like my terrible dry Russian humor of me jokingly telling Frosty I it is just a matter of time before I reject his contract offer. See, I make joke and we all laugh. It all big fun for everyone. I wonder if the player agent gorlab will be shocked to see this sit down interview and then do a double take on labeling me a bust because they took me so high in the draft?

ESPN.mx - So Viktor, new team, new people well outside of Hylands what's it like sharing conference time with the folks in Malmo?

*Putin translates the question for Kamenov* -

Victory Hockey League.

Putin - Honestly, the folks there are amazing so encouraging and fun to be around offering to help me every step of the way get acclimated to their culture and I look forward to joining them on the ice. As you know my agent BigTittySmitty is a legend in other leagues as an agent so he introduced me to a long time friend of his and one of the people he loved the most when he first became a player agent and that is OrbitingDeath. OrbitingDeath and BigTittySmitty go way back many years to be honest. They both represented players that played for the Vancouver Whalers where they both were actually captains of their teams in their respective minor league seasons. OrbitingDeath's player moved onto the big leagues so the two of them kept touch in their private captains Whalers calls they had where OrbitingDeath would help mentor the player agent BigTittySmitty navigate the streets of Vancouver and dealing with the Whalers management team and how to conduct myself as a professional. If it was not for him I do not think the BigTittySmitty agency and Dave Smith would not be where we are today representing me here in the Victory Hockey League.

ESPN.mx - It seems there is a growing friendly competition going on between Hylands, Frostbeard who is eligible for your upcoming minor league draft and yourself how is that going?

Putin - Well to be honest, its a friendly competition right now to see who can hit the gym the hardest and most often. Hylands is kicking ass spending the most amount of time in the gym compared to the rest of us which is why he is such a beauty. Frostbeard while new to me, and even younger than myself and Hylands is dab smacked in the middle of us in time spent going to the gym and using the training facilities. I'm trailing a little bit behind Frostbeard myself and waiting on the league administrators to acknowledge I have spent a little extra time in the gym than what shows on paper. Medical teams are so important here and to make sure we do not hurt ourselves over doing it. This competition will keep us moving forward and it will only serve one goal. To help Malmo when when we are ready to compete. It's what made me so interested in coming back sitting down with you on my computer because I wanted to tell the world more about myself and how things are going in a manner that does not involved me going off on you. I honestly am sincerely sorry about that. It just was a trigger moment for me.

ESPN.mx - It's honestly amazing your story and we at ESPN.mx are so glad you have decided to share your story exclusively with us during these hard times. The fans of ESPN.mx have been calling our call centers begging for new content and most definately asking for you to come back to do another interview with us. So I wanted to thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do so.  I must say the production crew is always having an amazing time when you join us on the show.

**WHILE PUTIN is in the middle of translating the final sentence the studio at ESPN.mx a black box with white writing stating we are having technical difficulties and are unsure when we will be able to broadcast the interview. We will keep recording as it is live and air the second half of the interview when the producers allow us time to do so**

I also did not include the Russian translation. It just helps with how I am telling the story. Yes, I did include the final piece as we went off the air as it is part of the story and sets the stage for Part 2

In recent light of the job pay changes, I wanted the community to have a glimpse into my job with VSN (and a little more garbage included).

I have made over 120 graphics since I joined VSN on the week ending Nov. 24, 2019. I started at 2 TPE, which I continued to claim (and not complain) until after 4 weeks, when Frosty alerted me I could claim 8 TPE for the job.

    Time for some fun math.

    2 TPE x 4 weeks = 8 TPE
    8 TPE x 22 weeks (until present day claims) = 176 TPE

Total job pay over 26 weeks (until present day) = 184 TPE

Now, I have made a ton of graphics. Some fast, some not even remotely fast. Some using a template so I don't take several more hours than I'd like. My point being, each one still takes time. And when you look at all of the graphics I have done (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1pab5qdsUUEKjQAMjKI3mUdSu43V2Dwbp?usp=sharing) this is a lot of time spent. I don't keep track of hours but maybe hours is the best way to associate TPE to a job (?). There's no doubt in my mind, I've spent hundreds and hundreds of hours.

I have also added about 10-20 files in that folder for which I was never given pay from the league (ain't that cute  ) and graphics that I made that were never used for VSN. I did my best to keep the images out that I got paid for. I was going to post all the imgur links in here for dramatic effect, but after writing all this, I'm far too lazy to do so.

A little more math, based on the 6 TPE point task - if you're curious, ask me why I did this and I can unleash the gauntlet on you.

    132 graphics x 6 TPE = 792 TPE

And some more math to show you the difference between my pay, and what it is worth.

    792 TPE - 176 TPE = 616 TPE

This sheds a little light on how 'employees' can be abused in their job pay in the VHL without a proper analyses.

Now, let me clear this up, I don't demand 616 TPE. I understand the job is for a set amount each week and that's the benefit - the consistent flow of TPE. However, I don't get paid enough. This also speaks to an idea of maximum work thresholds for this job, or any given job in the VHL.

Now for the extra things I have done for the league on the side, I have been told "claim it as a PT" or that I get nothing: it's "just to help me with something". Well c'mon. From day 1 I've asked for uncapped TPE from these extra things (almost always last minute as well) and I have been told "no" over and over again because they "can't just give away TPE". Only recently, have I been able to scrape a few extra uncapped TPE for some of my work. That being said, and sorry Beav, look at HHH's claims and tell me you can't just give away uncapped TPE???

At times I can handle the graphics, at times it's a struggle because like you all know, we have real lives to live and much more important priorities than a sim league. Sometimes life is in the way and it's not easy to make it on here.

Once again, I'm not asking for 616 TPE, I'm asking for fairness in pay for my job for all the time I pour into it, and fairness in what is allowed for uncapped TPE for extra work.

A few more rants and take homes:
Demanding several changes to a graphic, over and over, is not fun nor easy for the designer - we can't read your minds Don't tell the designer how to make everything look unless you can make better graphics or something is really off We don't just click a button, and poof! changes made Logo work is extremely tedious and is easily 10x longer than 'regular' images (was a real slap in the face to make logos for 6 TPE or less when giving the VHL rights to an image) If I haven't been paid for my work yet and it's not the VHL's property yet, don't send it off to other people to make changes without permission - actually illegal   We need time before to get thinking, and need time to make things Even if we are more experienced using Photoshop, or whatever, doesn't mean it's easier and we deserve less Audit HHH How many TPE should be attributed to his job (like all my extra work) instead of being claimed as uncapped? Is all of this working actually taking that much time that deserves uncapped? If yes, give me my 616 TPE uncapped.  Another example of a commissioner/blue member getting immense benefits as compared the everyone else? Maybe this can force the higher ups to make a uncapped TPE scaled based on time spent and the task type, rather than subjectivity of the one person whose deciding the job's worth?
I'm not writing this to stay here and argue, I'm just laying down the facts as I've lived them to promote some positive change for the site (for other job pay as well).

    Have a nice Sunday everyone

    Jeffrey Pines - Junior Review

Jeffrey Pines is a type of athlete that is becoming ever present in the modern sports world: a multi sport talent. Pines was born to two American immigrants in Edmonton, Alberta. His father is a former professional baseball player, and currently head coach for the local Edmonton squad. Pines inherited his fathers baseball prowess, and played since childhood. His hockey career, however, is a different story. All of Jeffrey's friends in junior high preferred hockey, so his father signed him up and he took to it like a natural, becoming one of the top players in the Edmonton area at the age of 13. He was never the best player in the league, or even his team at points, but his consistency and good work ethic always placed him in the top percentages of the players.

When he was 16, he joined the Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, as other leagues would suspend his baseball career. He played for two years, collecting back-to-back thirty goal seasons. The big decision came once he graduated high school, whether to continue his baseball or his hockey career. He received multiple scholarship offers from American and Canadian universities, however Minnesota State offered him the opportunity to play both sports - an offer he could not refuse. This of course put limits on both sports progressions, but after four years he received a contract offer from the Mexico City Kings, and his love for Mexican food and other recreational activities popular in Mexico made the team a perfect fit for the young star.

Some skills that carried over from Pines' time as a shortstop include his stellar reactions, hand-eye, and having a great shot power and accuracy. Combined with his short stature, Pines plays a speedy, scoring focused forward who focuses on getting into A+ scoring opportunities and making space for himself. His short time in Mexico City proved an unnerving adjusdment from the NCAA - only scoring an assist in 22 games. Public opinion blames star LW Chris Hylands - projected top 3 in the VHLM dispersal draft, who consumed all of the ice time from the younger forward. Pines is projected to be an early-mid second round pick in the dispersal draft, and is eligible for the VHL draft next season, where he is projected as a late first rounder. Pines has previously stated his preferred VHL draft destination is "anyone but Calgary", citing his hometowns long time rivalry within Alberta.

Stupid question. When the league had AGMs did they do anything outside of update Press Conference for the GMs? Was there actually any mentorship/internship work happening? I think the league needs to adapt the idea as an internship where they can do some tasks. If the goal is to prepare the future GMs of tomorrow would it not be better that they had a hands on approach on how to do the job? Then they won't need to take the following courses How to GM in VHL 101 and hopefully one day complete with honours Winning a Championship in VHL 404.

That for me would be great for AGM that maybe once a month with approval of the GM they do weekly tasks. Which then that week the GM can give their pay to the AGM?

    1. How is your off-season going?
This is the weirdest off season ever with the whole stay at home situation. Mostly just trying to keep myself occupied, watching Netflix and playing video games.

    2. Who do you think is going to go on to win the VHLM cup?
I think Yukon is probably gonna take it. They were really good all season long.

    3. If you went up right now, which VHL team would you want to play for?
I'm not really sure to be honest, it would be kind of cool to play for the hometown Toronto Legion.

    4. What are your goals for next season?
I really want to establish myself as one of the top young players in the game. It's going to be tough but I have what it takes.

    5. If you had to switch positions right now, what would you switch to?
Once upon a time I was a goalie, so I think I would choose that.

    6. Do you have any good youtube videos you've been watching lately?
Do yourself a favour and look up PayMoneyWubby.

hylands got a reaction from BigTittySmitty in Hylands Seen on Late Night Burrito Binge
Mexico City -- Late last night around 2:00am, a fan with a keen eye spotted what appeared to be a tipsy Chris Hylands leaving his favourite burrito place with what he described as, "a plastic bag absolutely FILLED with burritos!". This raises questions about Hylands' off-season commitment and if he is ready to step up and really become a great hockey player. Although the off-season officially started just last night, you would think Chris would avoid binging on burritos considering his #2 projected status right now. When we tried to reach Chris for a comment, we were unable to get a hold of him. Considering all the burritos and the time he was seen out, it's safe to say he is probably dealing with the consequences right now.

Maybe this is just a one off thing, celebrating the end of a season, but it's common knowledge that Mexico City players have had an extended off-season having not made the playoffs. Who knows how many times Chris has done this! Maybe this is just the first time he was seen, nobody knows. More to come on this developing story.
  22. Cheers

Hey guys its me Hooperorama#2273. I made my player who is a goalie and entered this community with no knowledge what so ever !  I just made a goalie since very few chose it.
I only knew how street hockey was played. When i started  exploring the discord, people started coming forward and helping  me! Especially , my new friend if not mentor ,  Gorlab.
He helped on gaining tpe. , introduced to new people in the community. The community is one of the most friendliest. Since i joined mid- playoffs time, i will
    be going through the draft.

For all the Gms in VHLM who will be drafting here is my message:
i am an active and a cool guy, willing to help anyone or learn from others. The only disadvantage in me is that i do not know how the game works
other than that i am always there for nay assistance. I am studying more about the game , so there will be no long term damage. For any Gm's
who will draft me ill be happy
