Look, honestly that person was not actually Australian because look, It is illegal here to name your child Marvin after the death of famous Australian Prime Minister Harrold Holt who was assassinated by a Marvin.

Coming off of a 59-goal season which had him tied for second in the league, Taylor Mourning was traded from the Malmo Nighthawks to the D.C. Dragons. While the Dragons do not look like a particularly great team, in the weak North American Conference they might just be the third best. The defense is definitely the strongest position group on the team, being comprised of the trio of Poopy Peepants, Corey Kitson, and Ryan Vidot. In net, they have the S82 2nd overall pick Bubbles Utonium making his debut in the VHL. Then there are the forwards. Mourning is definitely the best of the group, and that could have him primed for an even bigger season than the last. Joining him include two Dragons from last season, Miles Johnson and Guy Lambert. This pair did show some skill last season working together, with Johnson scoring 47 goals and Lambert notching 66 assists. These two players are getting up there in age, however. Mourning will likely get the most help from rookie Ronan Lavelle, last season's VHLE leader in points (101) and goals (49). Sophomore Brian Schmigel is the last of the group, but he's not expected to make much of an impact.

Alright sooooo it's one of those weeks..... You know the one where I have no clue what to talk about so I just ramble on about whatever comes to mind. Obviously the biggest talking point I can think of right now are the combined attributes, so guess we'll talk about that first. I saw a question in a press conference I did recently to do with the VHFL and how that will be affected by the new system, honestly it's hard not to imagine that everything is going to be up in the air. High TPA players will be the safest bet for sure but I think there will be a lot of second guessing and maybe eve asking a friend or two what they're opinion is. I'm not 100% but I presume that the world cup and anything else are being played under the new system right? since the change went live before that started, I imagine people who are gonna take it seriously will look at the results from those to. I do think users will still be taking players that have dumped a tone of TPE into scoring and defense stats anyway since that's how it was last season but I still think their could be more wild cards in there, perhaps seeing more players chosen than before? Also we have the pre season games for this season correct? So depending on when the VHFL opens up users could also be looking at that, as it would give a better idea of how good a player will produce and such, since in the world cup your playing with others that aren't normally line mates. Someone may produce really well in there but once they go back to their team they could drop off.

The VHL has had an exciting off-season so far.  Teams came into their downtime swinging with a barrage of trades..  The Los Angeles Stars, now under new management,  have had their fair share of the action.  After making a run for the cup in S83 the Stars came up short and several players were hanging up the skates, this had led the new management to reset and ship off players for younger players and assets.  One player trade off is the French winger Henri le Massif who was traded to Moscow for 2 prospects.  
 
As it turns out though, le Massif is not the only Star heading to Russia,  the rights for Jan Hlozek were also traded to the Menace and Jan elected to sign with them.  The Frenchman had this to say:
 
“It’s really great to see a familiar face when heading to a new team.  It was kind of funny, we ended up on the same flight out of LA.  I hadn’t heard the news yet and I guess they had just finalized the contract around when my trade became official.  Hopefully we can bring some of the LA magic from last season to Moscow, who were already a great team.  As an added bonus Moscow picked up a great friend of mine, Harkat Mulds, so I am really looking forward to playing with these guys this season.”

I brought this up on Discord somewhere, but I'll post this here for the sake of bureaucracy I suppose. Though I think this is something that can be rapidly agreed upon and implemented by the VHLM Commissioners and Simmers and maybe doesn't really NEED its own thread. @VHLM Commissioner @Commissioner @Admin
 
With the new Hybrid Attributes, even 200 TPE capped players in the VHLM are hard pressed to get any one attribute to even 60. Which is to say there is much less statistically differentiating new human players and bots, given that the bots have 40s across the board. [Really, there may not be enough distinction between any of the human players in the VHLM, but that's not what this is about right now and that's probably something that should be monitored this upcoming season. I can already hear the faint sounds of salty capped players being outpeformed by random clickers]
 
ANYWAY, I therefore think it wise to nerf the bots in the VHLM. Anywhere between 20-30 seems appropriate. Let's go with a nice conservative 25 within that range for the sake of expedient arbitration. Though it may be wise to maybe leave Leadership and Experience at 40, otherwise I can see the potential of teams starting the season with a less full roster getting knee-capped beyond recovery, even moreso than they already do. Possibly Discipline as well if we find the bots are becoming too annoying of a liability when they do play, though that one in particular can probably be resolved in the pre-season.
