I personally don't like a scale under 70 for the simple reason of 70 is achievable with the starting TPE. Don't want to throw new guys into the deep end too much by having to teach them about the update scale and stuff literally from the moment of their creation.

I’ve got 1 at 90, 2 at 80 and I think another at 70 with 40 banked and I’m still under 300. I would say things feel about where they realistically should. It’s challengig but only at the really high end (90+) where the effect of each attribute point is less pronounced anyway.

The Beketov agency makes for exciting drafts, what can I say. I mean apparently that’s true since I’ve had 10 players now and if you count this draft I’m in on 4/9 of these.

To be fair I’ve hated it since it was put in. Just had other shit to deal with.

Honestly I didn't even think about it until explaining to @evrydayimbyfuglien earlier but it is true. 75 was brought in as the cap at a time when you started with 0 so you really did start at 75. With players starting at 30 you only get a max advantage of 45 TPE which isn't really much. This I don't agree with, I like this new rule. Realistically how much does it hurt the old guys? The answer is not much. Most if not all people with much carryover to bank don't care about the VHLM anyway so what's the harm in putting them on an even playing field there with new guys who do care about it and don't want to get stomped into oblivion. We aren't taking anything away, we're just saying that they need to wait on it. I have had 40 banked since I created and it has never bothered me. I know the carryover is there, I just need to wait to use it. Ultimately retention is an issue in the league, as is recruitment. That's why we want to make things easier on newer guys to get their feet wet. It's easy for vets to say they want to have the advantages but from the eyes of a new member it's hell to come in with people stomping you from the get-go because the last player they made, which you weren't;t even around for, happened to be good. Rules like this even the playing field a bit while still giving some bonuses to old guys. Ultimately we can't cater completely one way or completely the other; we'll simply die out. We saw it happening when inflation from carryover started getting really bad and new guys simply didn't want to stick it out because they didn't stand a chance.

It's one or the other. It used to be if you got carryover you just always applied it because you started at 0 but ever since we put starting TPE to 30 carryover has been useless if you don't have at least 30 to use. I mean technically you COULD use it, no one would stop you, but it wouldn't make a lick of sense.

Was he your last guy? Assuming you never officially retired him (thus he went 8 seasons) he would leave you with 27 carryover so you're better off with the starting TPE.

It's okay, I've been here 11 years and only have 4 over 9 completed careers. One good season and you'll beat my total.

With how much hype this draft has it's amazing we never actually started this earlier, and that's a shame! Draft is tentatively set for 9EST tonight should the last couple of GM's agree. Shall we see how much hype we can generate in here until then? Predictions of the top 5 anyone?

This. Difference is they don't play the following season so they get the added benefits that the pre-season guys don't have. Basically we want to further distinguish that if you get to keep your player around longer you have to lose a few of the perks that trade deadline guys get on account of them not having an extra season.

No, doubles weeks count on PT's and affiliate PT's are considered as welfare, not as PT's. Tot are advantage of Doubles week's, be they from donations or anything else, a VHL PT must be used.

Constant until the day after the draft and then nothing major between the draft and the start of the season 3-4 days later. Spacing things out actually keeps the flow better than lumping everything together. Some seasons it also it basically right after. Just depends when the draft falls.

Yeah, Imma blame Windows. Never had the issue on my phone or my Macs.

It was designed around the pre-season. Not really sure if the logic itself for waiting that extra week but that’s why it’s at the end of the off-season because it’s supposed to happen right before the season starts. We have just been ignoring the actual pre-season sim lately.
