2 weeks off work + PSN Down + Single Player game + Nothing else to do = 30 hour completion. Honestly, it was such a fun game that I did a 10 hour session the first night without even noticing. Had the PSN been up though I probably would have been doing some other stuff. It came back after the first 20 hours but at that point the story missions were done and the completionist in my head was telling me to finish haha

Got Shadow of Mordor for Christmas and have been playing it almost non-stop; such a great game. Got it completely done this afternoon (100% and the platinum trophy) with just under 30 hours played. Trying to decide now if the DLC is worth it.

That would be a little more reasonable but where do we set the cap? Average of the players taking part maybe? The other thing is, if we did all-time players, who creates for the ones no longer with us? For example, Scotty isn’t around to make Campbell if he were to take part. It wouldn’t be hard to create him again but still. Also, not that he would likely player for either side but Beketov vs. Beketov would be funny

If we can get the payout approved I can definitely try to do up a tutorial tomorrow. Either on depth or related to the task of the week.

The exact rules would need to certainly be worked out but I would be all for skipping the VHLM in favour of going straight to the VHL. My only worry is that it makes the VHLM even more irrelevant because a lot of re-creates would choose to skip it al-together. That would mean the teams would have barely any players on them which is a major flaw. P.S I haven’t read page 2 yet so someone might have said this already

Love this idea. I would potentially like to offer an addition to it though. Since the people learning the techniques can get 1 TPE (capped I presume) from the task, why not offer 1 TPE (also capped for sure) to anyone who is willing to write (or better yet, screen capture) a lesson for the week. It doesn’t have to be related to the task of the week but could help in future ones. For example, I could put up a smudging or depth tutorial, Boubabi a stock work or smudging, etc. Just an idea.

Just going off what I’ve heard. I haven’t bothered to be around the SHL in years . After I helped them completely overhaul their organization and move to jcink and then saw all the organization turn into a chaotic mess within a week I decided against it. Even still, getting to ~1000 TPE in 4 seasons is massively fast. If people in the VHL were getting points like that we’d be looking at people retiring with over 2000 TPE.

It's been discussed countless times but unfortunately the logistics just don't really work out. Different sim engines, different TPE levels (900 here takes 6ish seasons, there its easy in 3) etc. it has certainly floated around but has never occurred.

ASUS are actually pretty decent. Stay away from Acer and gateway. Not to sound Mac elitist (ultimately you REALLY don't need one and I would never suggest it) but any PCI brand is going to have its share of problems in order to get the price down. HP motherboards are usually bad, Dell has Battery problems, Acer is just awful all-around, etc. Most times it's just good to be weary of what part the maker cheaps out on since that's what you'll probably have to replace later. I would aim for Toshiba, Samsung or ASUS personally but I haven't bought windows in 6 years so I might be a little out of touch.

With the Christmas season among us the layers and management of the VHL’s Helsinki Titans have decided to spread holiday cheer in the best way possible: an open bar! The players, coaches, and management of the team took to the locker room late Friday night and loaded themselves up with as much liquor as they could carry. While most teams worry about how their seasons will start and how everything is going to pan out, the Titans instead decided to have some good quality Holiday bonding amongst the new and old players. “It really is a great way to get to know your new linemates” Jackson Miller quoted while sipping on some scotch. “Although there is a slight problem with a bunch of drunk hockey players and Naomi being in the same room..." We here at VHL.com tried to get a quote from the coaching staff of the Titans on whether or not they thought a party of this magnitude (rumours have the bill set at $20 000 in liquor) is a good idea this early in the season. However they were doing keg stands while being interviewed so their responses were less than stellar. While they are likely to take to the ice at least a little hungover in their next game, the players seem to be enjoying the holiday cheer so we will have to wait and see if it pays off in the long run as a “bonding” exercise.

Totally agreed with you on NFSU3. I don't normally care for racing games unless I can customize the hell out of my car and Underground was great for that. I don't mind Grand Turismo and graphically it's great but it just feels blah when your cars look stock I guess. Underground was crazy fun though.
