Yeah for GM leagues it’s a really cool idea but for a player sim like ours it kinda exists only to ruin the experience for people. Like how much would it suck to have one of your (already limited) 9 seasons be completely derailed because you got injured and missed half the season? Like you finally get your build to its prime, you’ve got a bit of time before depreciation, and Simon just says “nope, full season injury.”
 
There’s a lot of things where we remove realism for the sake of player enjoyment and injuries are high on that list.

Goalies really are just trading great games this series. Just need things to swing Tucker Jr’s way for a couple.

Sleeping on @Chillybro as well. Been mostly welfare but has been very active on the discord and during sims and stuff.

I haven’t finished the series, got distracted halfway through book 3, but I will say the action definitely picks up A LOT after the first 3/4 of book 1. It has much more “under the mountain” energy from this point which is good.

The thing is that makes being around and earning ahead of time completely pointless. Congrats, you put in the max amount of work and nailed that cap every single week and your reward is to have exactly the same amount of TPE as someone who just got here. Missed half a week at some point? Well you get even less than the person who just joined.
 
I think 6 per week is a good middle ground. It offers something so they aren’t just left completely in the dust but it’s still not completely demoralizing to those who have actually been earning.  It’s the same amount someone would get if they just take welfare and PF.

Bonus craziness considering the ESHL back in the day was one of the "good ones" and it only managed to finish 4 seasons, it died during season 5.
 
Also bonus fun I found a YouTube video someone made promoting it in early 2007 and the link now leads to porn; that's a thing to discover at work.

It’s honestly not even THAT much work if it was handled like the old seasons. It only added a bunch of organizational mess when we started having each team guarantee a player (which then resulted in GM’s intentionally picking someone less deserving to guarantee they get in) and then had drafts and outside sims and everything else. I would love to add a very simple NA vs. EU  All-Star Game again.
 
The issue is two-fold. First, as you kinda alluded to, can we trust the voting process? We’ve repeatedly seen public votes turn into not only popularity contests but also intentionally voting less deserving by members for the memes.
 
Second there’s the issue of just absolutely constant sims. Back when the ASG ran the only sims we had outside of the seasonal ones were the WC every 2 seasons. Now we not only have that but also the WJC and Junior Showcase every season and those are full on tournaments, not just single games like the ASG was. It’s just a lot of sims that already make them basically never ending so adding even more is just adding even more simming strain on top of things.

I mean sorta but the idea would be more of how an all-star team would actually be logically built so maybe we go back to the EU vs. NA instead of the free for all ones or whatever.

Sorry for the delay in posting this, bad storm hit so I didn't have a chance to this morning as I had planned. It is, however, that time of the season again, theme week! Everyone’s favourite week (aside from the blues) since you all get that sweet extra TPE.
 
Of course, that also means that the Trade Deadline is Monday, February 5th at 3pm EST. This also means that anyone wishing to re-create for the S94 draft can do so starting at midnight that same day.

No I do not mean the absolute banger of a song by Smash Mouth but rather the all-star game, or our lack thereforeof. Maybe you want a case for it to return, maybe you just want to talk about who would be involved in it; honestly it's up to you but make it on theme and you're good to go.
 
To earn your Theme Week TPE, write an article, create a graphic, or record a podcast with some connection to “All-Star”.

In order to claim the theme week bonus of 6 Uncapped TPE, simply submit your Themed PT (Graphic, Media Spot, or 6-TPE Podcast), and claim it as normal. After claiming the PT portion, you can use the same link, and claim the uncapped portion as follows: Claim Uncapped > Other > Doubles Week. (Note: you do not need to post your link in this thread to claim either portion of TPE). 
 
If you have already submitted a Point Task for this week, or are in the midst of claiming a multi-week Media Spot/Podcast, you may still submit a Theme Week PT this week, and claim the capped portion on the next available week, following your multi-week claim. And no, posting something last week that happens to relate to the theme this week doesn’t grant you the theme week bonus.
 
Also, if you have a single job that pays 6+, you may claim the theme week bonus as long as you complete your duties for the week. If you are in the SBA and have completed their most recent Media Week, you may use that to claim the Uncapped theme week bonus, but a PT must be completed this week in order to claim the Capped portion, whether that is completed here or through Affiliate Welfare.
 
Note: Only players who are S93 or older may claim the theme week bonus.
