  3. Breaking News!!: Edgar Tannahill the S66 VHL draftee has told sources that he will not be playing in the VHLM next season. He said he hated playing in such a joke of a league and has decided that he will only play in the VHL next season. The VHLM draft is to happen tomorrow and Tannahill would of most likely been selected in the first round. This news will have VHLM GMs worried that he won’t report so using a first rounder on him would be a mistake. According to reports throughout of the year had him hating his ice-time and the way he was used most of the year. Which may of caused his recent decision to skip out of another development year in the VHLM. In a recent mock had him going 13th even though he is a top 5 talent in the draft. Tannahill has alway been a wild card so this decision really isn’t much of a surprised. It will be interesting to see if a VHLM GM takes a risk on Tannahill or if he slips to a later round. We caught up with his agent Greg Harbinson late last night when we got the news and this is what he had to say. “Edgar didn’t have a great experience last season so I wouldn’t be shocked if he decided he didn’t want to go back to Saskatoon, as for the rest of the VHLM I think he can be talked into join another team but he would have to be talked into it.”

  11. Tannahill’s season ended way before he thought it would but since the Saskatoon Wild didn’t make the playoffs, Edgar has gone home to Owen Sound to wait to see where he will be drafted in the off-season. Tannahill projects to be a late 3rd rounder so he really has no idea where he could be heading. He most likely will spend another season playing in the VHLM so he will not only be in the VHL draft but will also be in the VHLM draft after missing the draft a season ago. “There is a lot to be excited about in the new few weeks. Not only do I have the VHL draft to look forward to but the VHLM as well. I don’t know where I’ll be playing but having options will be great.” Edgar Tannahill Tannahill has shown that he would really like to be drafted by the young franchise in Moscow but we’ve been told he is open to playing any where but New York as he has bad memories of New York and doesn't want to relive those memories every day.

  14. CAN HE DO MORE THEN SCORE? EDGAR TANNAHILL ROOKIE PROFILE Name: Edgar Tannahill Position: LW Current Team: Saskatoon Wild Age: 23 Height: 6’2” Weight: 200 lbs. Birthplace: CAN Edgar Tannahill is a twenty-three year old from the small town of Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. Played junior hockey for his home town Owen Sound Attack for 4 years before turning pro at 20 and spending the last 3 years jumping around a few European leagues before being persuaded to give the VHL a chance by former player, agent and GM Greg Harbinson who is from the same small town. Tannahill signed a one season deal with the Saskatoon Wild to get accustom to the VHL style of play before entering the S66 VHL Entry Draft. “I wouldn’t have come out of retirement if I didn’t think this kid had the right stuff to be a great VHLer. It might take him a few more seasons than I use to but I think he will get there in time.” - Greg Harbinson Scouting report Tannahill is a scorer plain and simple. He has put the puck in the next at every level he has played at but what has held him from being the best version of himself is his lack of defensive play and his poor passing ability. You can see growth but hasn’t had a great season in his first season in the VHLM with the Wild. Strengths Skating: The biggest thing in the newer style of hockey is the ability to skate and Tannahill at 6’2 is a strong skater, flying up and down the wings with great speed and acceleration. Being able to create separation to find room to get off his great shot. You cannot give him space or he will fly by and around you before you blink. Shot: This is Tannahill’s biggest strength, you give him any room he has the ability to put the puck wherever the goalie isn’t. He gets it off very quickly with precise accuracy. A goal scorer is every sense of the word. He will make your goalie look bad with all the variations he has with his shot. This season he only scored 17 goals but in very limited ice-time for most of the season. Puck handing: To go a long with his great shot he has very soft hand the puck is on his stick. He is a one man wrecking crew and can make a lot of defensemen look silly if has them one on one in open space. It is very difficult to get the puck off his stick if he gets a hold of it. It can even be difficult for his own teammates to get the puck from him. Weakness Passing: As good Tannahill can be with the puck on his stick he has trouble giving it up to his teammates. He is a lone ranger out there some times and doesn’t use his teammates to create space for himself. Which can lead to a lot of turnovers when teams use double teams on him. If he could ever figure out how to share the puck he would a way better player. Defence: This is the biggest flaw for Tannahill and he will need to be corrected if he want to reach all-star status. He just isn’t good without the puck, he has improved throughout his rookie season in the VHLM but he is a liability in the defensive zone. It’s one of the biggest reasons he hasn’t found a permitted home yet in his pro career. He will need to improve this part of his game the most if he want to stick in the VHL. Leadership/Being a Teammate: Tannahill has always had trouble be a leader in the dressing room, he has never been seen a good teammate. He comes to the rink puts in his work and doesn’t interact with his teammates. It causes rifts with him and his team usually leading to a heated conversation with either the head coach or management. Even early this season he asked to be traded from Saskatoon over an ice-time issue and got into fights with teammates because of his selfish behaviour. He will need to fix that if he want to make it at the next level. Summary Edgar Tannahill will be a later round pick and has a lot of things to work on but his potential is there and is high. If he can put some of his off-ice issues to the side and put in more work with his play away with the puck, his offensive skills are good enough to be a top flight winger in the VHL but he will have to go to the right situation to bring all the potential to the surface. He has the right agent behind him so really skies the limit for him.
  15. Massive upgrade and it has really made my return that much better. Good job everyone!
  16. Disappointment in Saskatoon! The Wild have been fighting for a final playoff spot from day one of the regular season and with 3 games to go it looks like all that fighting will not seem them in the dance when the season comes to an end. The Wild are 5 points back and we need some kind of miracle to sneak into that final spot after losing back to back games to the Bulls and the team they were chasing in the Aces. “It’s heart breaking we came so close to getting in and I didn’t pull my weight in the games that matter. I’m a goal scorer and I didn’t do that, I failed my team and the fans. I don’t expect to be back so I’ll do whatever I can to go out on a high note”. - Edgar Tannahill The Wild will finish their season with games against the Reapers, Lynx and Rush. There is still a chance but it doesn’t look good.
