1. What did it feel like experiencing the VHLM Draft? Do you feel like you went where expected? Higher? Lower? - I had mixed feelings going into the draft. I wasn’t sure if I’d make the jump to the VHL so I didn’t care where I went for the most part. I ended up going a lot lower then I thought I would because I wasn’t committed to the VHLM. I was a top 5 talent that went 10th. 2. What are your expectations for the Marlins first ever season in the league? - Even though we are an expansion team I think we can make a good push for a playoff spot and by the time we get to the playoffs anything can happen!!! 3. Who do you think had the best draft? - That’s easy, San Diego. When you can get Phil Marleau and Edgar Tannahill in the same draft you win no matter what!!!! 4. Which team do you think will be the Marlins biggest season rivals? - I’m guessing at this point but I think Mexico City will be a good rival for us. Another expansion team that will be battling it out for a playoff spot. Of course it’s early in the season and rivalries are made in the playoffs. 5. How do you think your player will do on the team? - I think Edgar will do well. He is a top talent, playing with a very good centre in Phil Marleau so he should be able to put up big numbers but there will be a lot of pressure on him to come up big for the team. 6. Who do you think the Marlins "top player" will be? You? Someone else? - oh it for sure will be Edgar Tannahill. No one is a good as him. NO ONE! phil will be okay I guess

“…And with the 10th selection in the S66 VHLM dispersal draft the San Diego Marlins select left winger from Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, Edgar Tannahill!” Just like that Edgar Tannahill is heading to California next season to play with the expansion Marlins at least that is a possibility. Before the draft started Edgar had come out in the media and said that he didn’t feel like spending another season in the VHLM. Calling it a B league in which he didn’t think was run very well. The left winger was a top 5 ranked prospect for the draft but with his comments he had made a lot of VHLM team stay clear of the out spoken winger. The only team to contact him before the draft was the upstart San Diego Marlins, one of three new VHLM teams. The Marlins had two first round picks and decided to ask Edgar if he would be willing to report to them. Edgar said he would wait and see what his VHL team had to say but playing in the warm beautiful city didn’t sound all that bad to him. San Diego did have the 5th overall selection, right where Edgar should go but with his comments San Diego went with S67 prospect Phil Marleau who projects to be a top prospect for next seasons draft. Edgar continued to fall but when San Diego picked at 10 they took a risk on the scoring winger. “I don’t know if I will commit, I still plan on playing in the VHL but so far I’ve been impressed with the staff and the players they selected. I will give them a chance and go from there. My eyes are still on Saturday VHL draft!” Said Edgar Tannahill
