  5. Welcome everyone, After the prospect review of Jeremy Swayman @Agito and Vinny Lecavalier @Spartakiller2, this week we are going to talk about the last prospect, Tom Creeg @Creegan610. Creeg was drafted 40th overall in the S83 draft by the San Diego Marlins. He played only 12 games with the Marlins before being traded to the Philadelphia Reapers, where he played the rest of S83, S84 and S85. During these three season with the Reapers, Tom Creeg scored 83 goals and added 125 assists for a total of 208 points in 204 games. He also had a differential of +26 and a big total of 958 shots. Creeg made the playoffs the three years he was in the VHLM, but the first two runs were disastrous as he only had 2 points in 9 games and a -3 differential. However, the last one was totally different with 12 goals and 24 points in 18 games and a differential of +6. Tom Creeg is a very promising prospect and we are looking forward to see him on the team. Thanks everyone, see you next week and let's go Gladiators!!!
  6. Welcome everyone, Last week we talked about our first prospect, the goalie Jeremy Swayman @Agito, and this week we will take a look at the next one, Vinny Lecavalier @Spartakiller2. Lecavalier played in the VHLM for the last two years for three differents teams. He started S84 with the Ottawa Lynx before being traded to the Mississauga Hounds to end the season, who played 5 games in the playoffs before being eliminated. After his elimination, it was Vinny's draft year and the Halifax 21st drafted him 28th overall. During his two seasons, he scored 47 goals and added 75 assists for a total of 122 goals in 144 games. In a total of 9 games, Vinny Lecavalier registered 9 points (5 goals, 4 assists). Lecavalier is going to be a really important player in the team for the seasons to come and we wish him the best of luck for the future. Thanks everyone, see you next week and let's go Gladiators!!!
  7. Welcome everyone, The season is over and we are now in the off-season. Just like I did for the past 2-3 seasons, in the next three episodes I will talk about the three prospects we have in our prospects pool that are very likely to make the team next season. In this episode, I will talk about the goaltender Jeremy Swayman @Agito. For the last two season, Swayman played in the VHLM with the Mexico City Kings and he is doing pretty good. Indeed, during the last two seasons Jeremy has 56 wins, a save percentage of 0.909, a goal against average of 2.27 and 6 shutout in 92 games. Additionally, Swayman currently has a 0.969 save percentage, a 0.75 goal against average and 2 shutout in only 4 games. He helped the Kings sweep their first series against the Saskatoon Wild. Jeremy Swayman will likely start the next season as the backup, but if he continue improving he will maybe get the starter's spot. Thanks everyone, see you next week and let's go Gladiators!!!
  8. Welcome everyone, The season in the VHLE ended early today with a game between the Bratislava Watchmen and the Rome Gladiators. The Gladiators won this last one by the score of 4-2 with an impressive performance of Curtis Crumb @Crummer77, who had a four-points game, Hasbulla Magomedov @Motzaburger, who scored two goals and three points and DJ Fire Dragon @Firekiss who saved 31 of the 33 shots he faced. Even though the season did not end the way we wanted, the future is bright for the organization. Indeed, the team has two first round pick, two second round pick, two third round pick and a fourth round pick in the upcoming draft. In addition, the team also has three prospects who are going to make the team next season, the forwards Vinny Lecavalier @Spartakiller2 and Tom Creeg @Creegan610 and the goalkeeper Jeremy Swayman @Agito. Thanks everyone, see you next week and let's go Gladiators!!!
  9. Welcome everyone, The season is coming to an end and sadly the team really fall appart. A couple of days before the trade deadline, the team management looked at what the team was doing one the ice and they was not satisfied. Indeed, the team was loosing some important games and it was not going the way the team management wanted. So, they made the decision that this year was the finally year they were going to be bad. The team was not going to go all in this year, but next year. Indeed, the team made a trade recently that would improve the team in the future. The Rome Gladiators traded Jason @Jason kranz, Nagy Al and a 4th round pick in S86 for Tom Creeg @Creegan610, a 1st round pick and a 3rd round pick in the upcoming draft from Cologne. Good luck to Jason and Al in Cologne and welcome Creeg. Creeg is expected to play with the team next season. Thanks everyone, see you next week and let's go Gladiators!!!
  10. Welcome everyone, I am sorry for everyone who click on the article hoping I would talk trash about Spartan, but I will not. I don’t think I have any disagreement with them and I want to keep it that way lol. This week is theme week and we need to talk about GMs or team management and in this article, I will talk my personnal experience as a GM. Everything started in S81 when, current Los Angeles Stars GM and past Rome Gladiators GM, @InstantRockstar gave me my first chance as an AGM in the VHLE with the Rome Gladiators. For two years I was the AGM of Rockstar in Rome and we won the Renaissance Cup in S82. It was a very very nice experience and I will always remember that team and the run to the Cup. My job when I was an AGM was very basic and I was really in a learning mind set, because I was new to this world and it can be a really complicated one. I was doing the press conference and I even started a VHL.com article that maybe some of you know. It is called « All roads lead to Rome and to the Cup » and it talks about the daily life of the team. In S81, I had the chance to GM team Canada in the world junior championship and I am really grateful to have been able to do this. This was my first time as a real GM and I really liked the experience, I had to select my team, choose the captain and assitants and manage the locker room. Team Canada lost against team Europe in the semi-final and lost to team World in the bronze medal game. Team Canada finished fourth out of five and even if it was not the end we wanted, I think everyone on the team enjoyed the tournament. At the end of S82, Rockstar left for a better world in Los Angeles and the GM position was now vacant and obviously, I applied for the job. Rockstar has been a really good mentor for me and he helped me a lot becoming the GM I am right now. When I applied, he vouch for me, I thinked that it helped me get the job and I will always be grateful for what he did. When Rockstar left, we had just won the Cup and the team entered a little rebuild. Indeed, Rome finished in the two last place the past two seasons and this season is not going to be any different. However, this season is suppoed to be the last bad season of the Rome Gladiators, because we have a lot of draft picks and we believe in our chances. Now that I am GM, I no longer do the press conference, because I can claim the 2 TPE for being a GM in the VHLE, but I still continue to make the VHL.com articles. That is pretty much it for my experience as a GM, but I hope that it is only the beginning. My goal would be to be a GM in the VHL, but I am not in a hurry and I really want to take my time and be sure that I am ready before making the jump.
  11. Welcome everyone, A couple of days ago, we passed the middle of the season and we can say that it is going to be an interesting end of the season even though the Rome Gladiators are not doing as good as expected by the team management. Indeed, the team is currently sixth in the league with a record of 20 wins, 17 losses and 7 losses in overtime for a total of 47 points in 44 games. However, the team is only four points away with the same number of games from the Cologne Express who are currently third in the league. Even if the team could do better, some players are doing very good. Indeed, Jason @Jason kranz is currently fifth in the league for the number of points with 50 and third in the league for the number of goals with 25. Rhys Trenton @DeeGoat also has a really good season with 46 points in 44 games as a defensemen. Thanks everyone, see you next week and let's go Gladiators!!!
  12. Game 336 recap : The game was between the second best team in the league, the Vancouver Wolves, and the second worst team in the league, the Prague Phantoms. The Phantoms caused a big surprise and won the game 2-1. Prague's goalkeeper clearly stole that game stopping 38 of the 39 shots he faced for a save percentage of 0.974. Both George Sanderson and Omi Aberg scored a goal and added an assist for the Prague Phantoms.

  15. Recap game 102 : The game was opposing the top two teams of the league, the Oslo Storm and the Bratislava Watchmen. 16. Welcome everyone, The S85 started last week and we can already see who is going to be competitive and who is going to rebuild this season. For the Rome Gladiators, the team did not know if they were going for the Cup of if they were to rebuild for one last season, but after last week results the team decided to go all in.
