Luckily for me (and to the detriment of my wife) I learned to sleep under almost every condition in the army. Probably only Armageddon would wake me up.

Jake Wylde and Benny Graves are names that even I know (the former due to some silverware in the VHL named after him and the second because I wrote the HOF article for Groovy Dood and Graves was mentioned in there). Congrats to 10,000+ TPE.

Like a boss, dude apparently did not sign a contract after being drafted by the Bears (at least that is what the data suggests, unless Bana fucked up and forgot to send a contract).

Preach, brother. My IRL nutsack of a brother Marcel has managed to win two consecutive Continental Cups in five VHL seasons as a stay at home defender with Welfare + PF and some career tasks and first gen stuff. Whereas HOFer Daniel only got one cup ring (and a lot of dust collectors) during his eight year VHL tenure. I am not bitter, you are

Calgary Wranglers press conference
Daniel Janser replied to diamond_ace's topic in Team Press Conferences
1. Calgary has picked up speed after a rocky start. What do you think was elementary in the team's success so far? 2. Elaborate in what areas your player could improve, to help the team to compete. 3. Who do you see as our biggest rival this season in the Conference? 4. And in the European one? 5. Which is your favourite cuisine and why is it Italian? 6. What sports teams outside of hockey do you follow/support? -
Due to the good start of the Americans, coach STZ gave his squad a game-free weekend off. Cal knew exactly what to do. Once back home with his roomie Rin, he asked her whether she would join him for a visit at his uncle's. The Japanese back agreed immediately. Kagamine uses every opportunity to learn something. And one can certainly learn from a back-to-back Continental Cup winning defenceman. 'Pack your swim trunks, Rin. The old man has a pool and I intend to use it.' 'The Beast' obliged and packed a weekend bag with all the necessities. 'On that occasion you will meet Eilidh as well.' 'Who is Eilidh? Your aunt?' 'Janser laughs. 'No Eilidh is my truck.' Kagamine only shakes her head. How could anyone give inanimate objects a name? Once the duo had packed their belongings, Cal called an Uber to get to the Hamptons. 'Knowing my uncle, he will take us fishing. The man is obsessed with it. I hope you like fish.' Rin just looked at Cal-Gary with a raised eyebrow and an 'are-you-serious?' expression. 'Yeah, that was indeed a silly question.' A few hours ride later, the Swiss and his linemate arrived at Marcel's place. The former Calgary player welcomed both of them and showed them their rooms and then said: 'Okay folks let's go fishing. I put everything we need in Eilidh's boot. You drive Callum.' The latter just turned to Rin with a 'Told-you-so'-look on his face. There was no dispute to be had and Janser obediently drove, following Marcel's instructions. Eilidh

Do 9 season VHL careers actually work?
Daniel Janser replied to CowboyinAmerica's topic in Media Spots
yeah it is weird to be considered the best defensive defender in the league and lose the 'Stolzy' against another defender (and a netminder from your own team) -

Daniel Janser, former captain and certified Calgary legend cannot recommend KGW rods enough. They helped me to carve a HOF career out of my potential. For more infos, please be guided to KGW press release. -

I mean I know of Stormwall, but mainly because he is in the Calgary retired Jersey section. -
Bana Blabs #101 - Recruitment update and more!
Daniel Janser replied to Banackock's topic in Media Spots
Non-Canadian here but giving the stereotypes we have about you good folks. If there is Poutine convenience food (à la Kraft Mac'n'Cheese from the US) include that. Maple syrup is probably the most stereotypical Canadian food (expect Marmite in exchange, I suppose). -
Do 9 season VHL careers actually work?
Daniel Janser replied to CowboyinAmerica's topic in Media Spots
Let's be honest here. Unless you are a netminder, if you enter the VHL at around 400 tpe you will have no shot at the Roty nor will your stats be fantastic due to the hybrid attributes. The main reason I chose to stay down was exactly that: I didn't want to be a glorified bot (especially since I have a weird build to start with). Regression was a minor part of it. Main was contribution to the team and giving some love the widely despised E. -

New York Americans Press Conference Questions
Daniel Janser replied to STZ's topic in Team Press Conferences
1. I think we are on a good path and the lockerroom appears more active. 2. CGY participated in the ProAm and the WJC. 3. I think we improved on all positions compared to last season. 4. That he leads with example. Nothing worse than a captain who is like 'do as I say, not as I do.' 5. Some teams are rebuilding and we managed to close the door for the most part so far. 6. I prefer the traditional thin Italian style pizza. -
But the main question remains: 'Where is the lamb sauce?'

Also an unpopular opinion here (and I intend by no means to discourage you from max earning): The league also needs solid non-max earners. As good as max earners are in terms of star power and their contribution in the sims, to field a team of super earners is not sustainable for the VHL teams in the long run. They will run into cap issues. As a side-note, earn at the rate that you are comfortable with. We all know that a RL exists. It is best for the user (and by proxy for the league) if one earns sustainably on a regular basis for a full career, rather than two months of max-earning, burning out and go IA, never to look back. Find the earning level that is good for you and let your GM deal with it.
