  1. Post indicating the bonus points
  2. @jacobaa19 Also: @Will I'm not sure if this is a portal issue or a sim issue, but his S60 stats are in the index as "Smitch" and therefore have not crossed over to his portal page.
  3. Jacob Smith of the Davos Dynamo is a good all around defenseman with a strong defensive presence, paired with the ability to contribute here and there on the offensive end. His career so far, however, has been a tale of two entirely different players, as is so often the case when a player makes the jump from the VHLM to the bigs. Smith was a workhorse in the VHLM and his numbers ended up bearing out the fruit of his efforts with two decent years. In the VHL, he certainly has some room for development but he's working hard and improving every week, rounding out into a solid young player for Davos. In the VHLM, Smith spent S60 and S61 on Oslo, where he performed well on both ends of the ice. Oslo selected him with the 13th pick in the S60 VHLM draft, in a draft that looked much deeper at the time than it ended up being. Smith has outperformed 5 of the people who were drafted ahead of him, who have already fallen out of the league. S60 was a developmental year as the first year always is, but even then, he performed admirably. 12 goals and 57 assists for 69 points put him just short of a point per game, and 158 hits and 118 shot blocks gave him a well rounded presence - well worth his draft selection. Coincidentally, in S60, the Oslo equipment manager misspelled his name, listing him as "Smitch" which unfortunately has carried over to his career stats page, which at this time doesn't list any of his S60 stats. In S61, over the course of the season, he accrued 34 goals and 54 assists for a total of 88 points, well over a point per game pace. Defensively, he also had 190 hits and 103 shot blocks, proving his strength in his own zone as well. This time, everything was done correctly and the stats have shown up as they should. In the VHL, Smith is in his first season, and it hasn't really been one to remember. He's scored 7 goals and 11 assists for a total of 18 points in 64 games. His defensive game hasn't taken as much of a hit though, with 166 hits and 85 shot blocks - the hits are right in line with his two VHLM seasons, and the shot blocks are only a little down because Davos is a strong team. Nonetheless, this is to be expected in a first VHL season, where a player will go from a league where everyone is around their level to a league where so many guys are in their primes, with several more seasons of development. S62 might not be a season to remember statistically for Smith, but it's certainly been a season that has allowed him to develop well and get accustomed to the pace of the league, where he will almost certainly be one to watch next season, perhaps even a contender for most improved. He has certainly lived up to his 12th overall draft selection, especially when taken into context the fact that Mikhail Vega was selected 9th. This is definitely a player to keep an eye on, as his development continues and his role expands within the league. 545 words
  4. yeah but its actually not. this is the second time now you've gone into a thread whining about what you thought was the rule and been completely wrong about it, maybe double check next time?
  5. Um, I claimed him two posts earlier... Honestly though I claimed him because he claimed me, so if you want him, as long as I can ensure he's getting done by someone I trust to do it, I can go elsewhere.
  6. Tell him what he's won, Johnny.
  7. agreed - especially when there's a team with 2 30 TPE goalies not signing any of these guys
  8. 2
  9. I've already promised the VHLM guys that the skills comp will be this week - what I'll do, if this is approved, is I'll write both the skills comp and the bonus article this week (within the next few days - after I get out of my current work shift I'm off 6 days), claim the bonus article this week, then despite writing the skills comp this week I'll start the claim weeks on it next week. So it would be: Both posted within the next few days Bonus article week ending 16th Skills comp weeks ending 23rd, 30th, 7th, 14th. (because obviously the skills comp will be well over 2000). IF this plan is fine: I'll take Jacob Smith.
  10. When you stop halfway through a reply because 3 pts come in, then get back to the message when the pts are finished only to get an error message that the thread is gone...

  11. Also - I take it that in your interpretation of the VHL universe the NHL has folded? Interesting take. We all do that aspect differently, I like how it's left kind of open for interpretation
  12. Wranglers, not Stampede, but this was good anyway! Thanks for having me on.
  13. This - Molholt come to us, you know you want to. (either way, glad you decided to recreate)
  14. Well, inactive FA can't be signed, so call yourself active at least for that
  15. The more I'm looking into it, Oslo @Laflamme seems to have two 30 TPE guys. That's probably your best bet for a starting role if Laflamme sends an offer.
  16. @DeathOnReddit is back, he's been commenting a few times in the locker room, which means he's Active FA. Let's get him on a team. Goalie btw. @ShawnGlade Halifax @Gooningitup @Dtayl Saskatoon @jacobaa19 @Jubo07 Vegas @BarzalGoat Yukon @Laflamme Oslo 1.5m to come back to Ottawa for the rest of the season - admittedly, this time around you'd be backup behind Kallis Kriketers, but I'd make sure you got some games. Right now the VHLM goalie market is saturated but we'll see what all offers come in, I'm sure someone out there could use a 114 TPE guy. EDIT: Apparently Tyler accepted Ottawa's backup role, I misunderstood his reply to the thread and didn't realize it was an acceptance. I now have no goalie spot available.
  17. Phoenix Rising, Drogba's team, are third in the USL Western Conference. Pittsburgh Riverhounds, the team I go to whenever I get a chance, are second in the Eastern Conference. IF that ends up being the finals, if the game is held anywhere even remotely reasonable, I'm definitely going.
  18. Unrelated - I just looked up the actual Milan Baros to see what was going on with him lately; he's actually still playing. After all these years... back at Ostrava, his club he got his start with.
  19. Ottawa has 6 D already
  20. @Beketov
  21. He isn't added to the roster, so the current client file I can't do lines with because he's not on it.
  22. @Quik everyone will come in here and throw 1.5m at you, you know how this works. I'll start it off with 1.5m to come to Ottawa @ShawnGlade Halifax @jacobaa19 @Jubo07 Vegas @Gooningitup @Dtayl Sask @BarzalGoat Yukon @Laflamme Oslo and @McWolf is with me in Ottawa
  23. Ah, signing up for the two extra exhibition matches after we beat you in 5, like the Caps did? Go ahead and win game 7 - the series will already be over. (Also, how bad does this have to be, you're making a Pens fan side with the Caps...)
  24. So make up your mind, are you VGK or aren't you?
