I´ll say Houston Bulls, really like the logo and the brand is cool as well, fits the picture on what kind of hockey I would like my team to play, physical and high energy!

I have, stopped working as hard and added more rest, now that I´m older that extra rest goes a long way in staying fresh and being able to stay on the top for as long as possible.

 

7. What role do you want on this team?

I´m happy with my role, get to use my strengths as a player and I get PP time - ideal spot for me to play in.

 

8. What do you think our team identity is/what should it be?

Not sure if it´s indentity, but I think when you look at our roster you see a lot of talented players who are still young - excellent scoring ratings, so maybe a deadly offensive team that has not yet reached full potential.

 

9. What game plan change would you do for team/personal success?

Maybe put bit more focus on passing and puck handling - try to wait for extra second or two and then pass instead of going for the shot as often.

 

10. Have you heard any trade rumors that make you interested in how the rest of the season will turn out/ our team or others?

I have not, but I guess all the ´older´ guys around the league could be open for trades - get that one last chance to win if their current teams are not there yet, so interesting to see what happens!

I think I have been playing pretty well with the starts I have received. There has been more good games then bad games

I need to work on hand speed, have been getting beat glove side

I think we can make the finals again as long as everyone is clicking

I think its good for the league and will give more playing opportunities to upcoming players. The league has really grown over the last couple seasons

I think Game 262 vs Moscow.  The team played really well and it was my first 1st star in the VHL

I think we will either lose a close series to the Wranglers or we beat them then lose to Toronto, this is their Cup to lose.

1. So we made it to the playoffs. How do you feel about our standings?

We finished off the second half of the season great. Helped us get 2nd place and an "easier" opponent.

I believe we will win in 6. We have the quality and active members to have no problems beating Calgary.

Vancouver will once again be in the finals. We have been playing well and have great momentum heading into the playoffs

Keep shooting, only way to score. We need to tire him out with tons of shots.

Wolves cheerleader on the bench ;) haha just kidding. My goal is to gain as much experience as I can to help me in the future and to help out our team-mates in practice if they need extra time with a goalie

Those one goal games really hurt us, only change would be to make sure we finish out games. In the grand scheme of things even with the couple one goal games we would have still ended up in second

Pretty well I´d say, been able to get on the scoreboard on a steady pace, so that has been cool to see even if some of the games have not been too close.

 

3. If you could change one thing about your game what would it be?

I would like to hit more, I feel like I´m getting hit too often, if I could be more physical maybe they would not try and run me over as much?

 

4. What do you think our team needs to take it to the next level?

Solid goaltending and even more deadlier offensive system starting from creating better scoring chances and of course then finishing them.

 

5. How do you see our chances in the playoffs?

I have big hopes, powerplay has been good and we have lines that seem to click nicely, have hard time believing too many teams can realistically stop our offensive power.

 

6. What do you think about Expansion?

Mixed feelings, nice to see new teams and so on, but some players have to leave their current teams and that can sometimes create tough situations that has no real winners - expansion drafts sucks.

 

7. What has been your favorite game this season?

I´ll say the last game of the season, got couple assists on powerplay. Those points were my 50th on PP this year, so hitting that milestone pushed the game first in my list.

Wolfie. Glade is a star defender, but Wolfie is an underrated stud.

I just take it easy at my place and play some video games, watch movies/tv-shows and listen to podcasts etc - basically just relaxing and taking my mind off from hockey while also resting my body.

 

9. If you have to describe our team in one sentance what would be that sentence? 

Vancouver is a team that has a lot of potential, extremely talented and offensive minded group of players who have the ability to win a lot together!

 

10. Any thoughts on what we should shoot for in next seasons draft?

Could be a decent idea to maybe find some physicality into the roster to protect the skilled players we have, someone who is willing to drop the gloves and show what happens when you step over the line!

I´ll say Shawn Glade, we got the offensive scoring power from forwards, but when you get goals from the blueline - you are in for good ride and Glade provided solid number of goals, especially on the powerplay - difference maker in games!

Julius Freeman deserves some love, almost 40 goals next to Louth who is also a goal scorer, same pace in playoffs as well with 9 goals, really starting to be one of the best players in the league and a real threat in every game with his goal scoring ability!

Freeman is a great bet, from 12 goals to 37 is a ´nice´ jump, but also players like Gruber and Jagr have taken big steps forward and are key reasons behind Vancouvers excellent year!

 

10. If you could change one thing about our season this year what would it be?

Maybe the first 20 or so games, not exactly as smooth as we hoped, get more wins early and maybe we could have finished first overall in the standings, but cant be too mad about anything now!

Really good, excellent series from the whole team. We really showed everybody we have what it takes to win when it matters the most!

Late answer, but I knew we had what it takes to beat them. The offensive firepower we had in the team gave me personally a nice confidence boost for playoffs!

 

3) What does the team have to do to beat Helsinki?

Classic answer, but staying out of the penalty box is the key. Gotta make it as hard as possible for other team to score and hope that in the other end we are able to use our chances and score!

1. I feel great another series that I did well. Helped his team and kept himself out of the box as much as he could.

2. Yes hindsight being 20/20 I think we can get them in 6.

3. We have to out shoot them so much since they have a great goalie.

4. Nope I like to think I give 100% toward every game this one should not be any different.

5. I like to think I do. It could just be me but I was drafted higher than anyone expected me to go by this team and I feel like I owe them so much for putting the faith in me that anything less than my 100% every game would be wrong of me to do to the team and organization.

6. I can't think of that until after the win, I need to focus on what is ahead of me now or we might not get it.

7. I think they will go crazy, It would be a great send of to Louth and the city deserves it.

2. What do you think was the key to this run? Our chemistry easily. Halfway through the season we were like bottom 5 and no one had us coming back the way we did, but we pulled it off

4. We sent Beau Louth off the best way we could, what does he mean to this club and to you personally? It's always nice to see a player win a cup in their final year, and this year was no exception. He was an incredible player to the team, and his absence come season 68 will be felt.

5. What do you want to say to any Free Agents out there about why they should consider joining the wolf pack? We're reigning cup champs baby, that's all I got to say!

6. What are you going to do with your day with the cup? I'm gonna take it back to Philly and thank the city that started my career for giving me this chance

1. I felt like I was on top of the world. The Legion were the top dogs all season so to beat them was amazing.

2. At the time I felt we needed to exact revenge for getting swept.

6. My 1 day, I took it back to Czech Republic. Paraded it around my hometown, Gave the new Prague team something to stare at

7. 2 seasons in Van, 2 finals, 1 win, the fans have been great.

Feels amazing being a part of a cup run. Everyone on the team deserved this win and I hope we can do it again next season

I think solid gameplay from everyone on the team as well as players staying active and putting in training

I think every FA that wants a shot at the cup should consider joining Vancouver. We have a very active locker room and our players are always putting in the work to get better.

 

6. What are you going to do with your day with the cup?

 

I will be taking it home to Poland and trying to make hockey more popular there.

 

7. Two finals appearances in two years what do you think our chances of making it three in a row?

It will be tough with some of the retirement/trades but I think we have one of the more active groups in the league so we should be a challenger for another year
 

10. What are you going to do to make yourself a better player for next season? 

Going to hit the training rinks early and make sure that I am ready to go for the upcoming season whether it is in a backup role or full time role. I am always striving to make myself better.

1. So we just won the cup. How do you feel? - Ecstatic, second year pro in the league and I win a cup, there is no better feeling. So glad Vancouver took a chance on me, has been panning out quite nicely thus far! 

 

2. What do you think was the key to this run? - Honestly? Activity. We had a great team who wanted to win, we had some great lines, some great chemistry and you could just tell we wanted this thing, and so we took it. Couldn't be more proud. 

 

3. Which team mate are you most proud of? - There was so many people who made this happen, I am just proud of the whole team, I can't single out one person because it was truly a team effort, we killed it! 

 

4. We sent Beau Louth off the best way we could, what does he mean to this club and to you personally? - As the captain, I love to see someone go out on top, especially while I'm in the "reigns" so to speak as the captain. He brought a sense of competitiveness, straight-shooting, point-scoring and just overall great atmosphere, it was something everyone connected with.

What do you want to say to any Free Agents out there about why they should consider joining the wolf pack? - If you want activity, loyalty, compassion, happiness, fun and a competitive mindset, then this is your place to be, this isn't only a team, it's a little family, we've all bonded, grown together and will continue to grow, and I urge anyone who shares the same values to join us! 

 

6. What are you going to do with your day with the cup? - Being from Ireland, and no one ever having done it before, I am bringing the cup back home for my Country, and for my people. I want them to get to experience the rush I am still feeling today, and let them see just what commitment can really do. 

 

7. Two finals appearances in two years what do you think our chances of making it three in a row? - We have a pretty strong core still, pending we either have a big draft or especially a big UFA period, I could see us going 3 for 3 into the finals with a second cup to boot. That being said we lost our best performing defender so we have some slack to pick up for next season for sure. 

 

8. We have had two long seasons back to back what will you do to relax this off season? - I'm still going to be grinding, earning every penny I can, and making sure that I can become the best player I can be for the season. Sure, I plan to relax a little bit but I also want to continue the grind. 

 

9. What is the memory you will think of most this post-season outside of winning it all? - All the fond locker room memories of the team, we talk a lot, shoot the shit, you know, it's just the simple things for me that leave an everlasting impression. Also, being captain doesn't hurt, I'll always remember being a young captain on a great team. 

 

10. What are you going to do to make yourself a better player for next season? - Pump in the practice hours, only thing you can do really. Once I feel comfortable with my build, where I am at, I will just continue to round myself out, to be good in all areas of the ice.

The whole process of going through to the draft. All of the interviews and training were great. The actual draft night was electric. It was a lot of fun.

From what I have seen we are in good position. We lost some good pieces from the championship run last season but it seems like management has a good idea on who is going to replace those pieces going forward which instills confidence in me.

As a brand new VHL player I would need to do some research to see who is available and whatnot. I'm sure signing a forward that could ease the loss of Louth would be a good idea but I'm not exactly sure who is available that could fill that role.

I believe I am going to slot in as a fifth defenseman with hopes of moving up as the season progresses. There are four far more talented defensemen on this squad already but I feel my work ethic could see me competing with them sooner rather than later.

I am going to be a hard playing two-way defenseman with a focus on the defensive side of the game. I wouldn't mind putting the puck in the net every once in a while but defense will be a definite focus of my game.

Training camp was excellent. The best memory was probably the first meeting and team introduction I had shortly after the draft. I'm already making some great friends here.

1. So the preseason is almost over what was your favorite thing about this summer

Having some time off to spend back home in Poland with the cup. It was a short summer for me as I spent a lot of my time off training for the upcoming season
 

3. Where do you think we stand starting this season?

I think we are in a good position to make a run again. We have great depth and if our players continue training throughout the season then I see no big issues.
 

4. If you could get any free agent who would it be?

Not sure who is available but would be nice to get a high scoring forward just to help ease with some of the players we lost that put up a high amount of points.
 

6. What role do you see yourself this season?

I see myself starting out in the starting role this season. I think after a few games we will have to evaluate if that is a role I continue with or if we need to bring someone in for a cup run.
 

8. What kind of player are you going to try and be this season?

I am going to be a supportive member of the team, no matter what role I play. I will be training like a starter whether I am or not. I just want to see the team do well

 

10. Which player do you see being an all-star this season?

I think Rauno Palo for sure, he was amazing for us last season and he will be playing a big role now in trying to get us back in the cup. If things go well, I could also see Freeman getting there aswell!
