After a disappointing end to a tumultuous season, the team looked to re-tool while adding youth and still being competitive. Having three of the top four picks in this draft definitely helped the youth movement. The team looks to be back in the North American playoffs once again at the very least and with that we will lean on some of our senior members on the team for leadership this season including a new Captain, one new Assistant and one returning Assistant. We are proud to announce the captains of your season 70 Calgary Wranglers (C) LW - Sigard Gunnar @Big Mac Well apart from wanting to be the captain very badly and being vocal about it, Gunnar was also one of the first picks made in this iteration of the Wranglers and is now ready to transition to a leadership role for the team. (A) D - Jordan Tonn @MexicanCow123 Tonn came to Calgary via trade this off-season and has already proven himself as a valuable locker room presence. He has also proven to be a selfless member of the team, switching from forward to defense and re-rolling into a top pairing player for the team. (A) D - Cody Smith @cody73 Cody went from being the youngest of the leadership group last season to the seasoned vet, while also taking on another leadership role while helping with AGM duties. These 2 yahoo’s have been on our nuts all season. It’s a friendly reminder that the series isn’t over. Also that Seattle can’t be expected to win every season. You need to have long tenures and successfully make it through a rebuild to form said chip.
