animal74 1,622 Posted March 22, 2020 Share Posted March 22, 2020 (edited) At the end of Game #72 of a successful regular season for the Calgary Wranglers, a foreboding 3-2 win over eventual Continental Cup champions, the Moscow Menace, the team handed out their 3-Star Award for S70. The Wranglers were a deep team and would go on to win the NA Conference only to lose in the finals to the Menace. Every night someone different would step up and make an impact that would help the team be competitive throughout the season, one in which they would accumulate 41 wins. After each regular season game, 3 Stars of the game would be chosen and after the final game, those 3 Star selections with the associated point totals (30 – 1st Star, 20 – 2nd, 10 – 3rd) were totaled and the Wranglers’ 3-Star Award was honored. All 15 players on the roster garnered at least one selection with 12 earning at least one 1st Star during the course of the season. Early on in the year, it was a two-player race but during the second half, one player pulled away and took the reins of the Wranglers fortunes. The winner of the Calgary Wranglers’ 3-Stars Award for S70 led the team in goals (17 more than the next closest scorer!), points, plus/minus, penalty minutes, hits, and tied for the lead in game-winning goals. He also led all forwards in assists.
