This has dragged on for far too long and at times has become much more complicated then it needed to be. I thank all GM's and the teams respective players that showed interest both in this thread and via PM and while several teams made great pitches and were strong candidates, it finally came down to 3 teams. I won't name the 3, but their GM's obviously know who they are/were.

I have alienated some people with the decision and while that's disappointing, it's just a fucking sim league. With that said......

Goodbye Helsinki. You were awesome as a team, a LR and as a bunch of guys and I wish you all the best, whether you believe it or not. I know I've lost at least one relationship out of this and for that, I'm sorry. Anyone who knows me well enough here in the VHL knows I wear my heart on my sleeve and don't like to disappoint anyone. If someone asks me for something(usually GFX) or needs help, I'm there and will try my best to accommodate the request, so the last few days have been a real struggle for me.

The VHL Needs More People like Kesler17

Kesler17 has developed quite a reputation in his short time in the VHL. He has become notorious for his bad grammar, young age and often bizarre thought processes. Mostly because of his grammar and youth, Kesler has become the VHL’s unofficial whipping boy. Sometimes it manifests itself in simple jokes and light-hearted trolling, but in other occasions it has involved breaking into his account, and straight up bullying. In fact, Kesler has been the butt-end of so many jokes that it now almost seems like chirping him is aiming for the low fruit, when a lot of VHL members could come up with much more clever ways to spend their time and get their kicks in the league.

It’s true, his spelling and grammar is absolutely atrocious and his refusal to improve it is beyond infuriating. It’s also true that he has shown some serious lapses in maturity from time to time, and ended up in some terrible flame wars as a result. Nevertheless, I believe that Kesler is an incredibly valuable member to the community, and in fact I believe that the VHL could benefit from more members like Kesler.

    Passion for the League
Say what you will about him, but Kesler has a clear love of the VHL. Even though he has been chirped constantly and his name has been dragged through the shit, Kesler is still one of the most active members in the league. He is constantly seen around the boards, trying to contribute to the community however he can. Some of his posts may be less than substantial, but I had the pleasure of sharing a locker room with Kesler in Seattle and you could clearly see there the love that he had for the VHL. He is always chiming in on discussion in the league, giving CnC on graphics, and he looks to help improve the league by taking on jobs when he gets the opportunity. He’s been through enough shit and been mistreated by enough members to cause anybody else to fuck off and do their own thing, yet he stays.

    Dedication
Coming into a league with people who have been doing graphic design for literally half of Kesler’s life could have been very intimidating. It’s easy to look ‘how the fuck can I ever compare to that?’ and give up, but Kesler didn’t. Kesler has decided that he wants to get better at his sig making, and so he has dedicated himself thoroughly to it. He is regularly pumping out sigs and, while they are no masterpieces just yet, they are constantly improving. His sigmaking habits have also improved, and he regularly takes CnC given to him into account and now produces new versions of sigs and wants to learn to make better graphics. It takes a lot of dedication to become a good graphic designer, and Kesler is showing more of it every day.

    Attitude
Yes, Kesler has got in his fair share of spats, and yes he has been known to display less maturity than the average person from time to time, but so have we all. When it comes down to it, Kesler has recently shown a huge improvement in his attitude around the league. When people are laughing at him, he has started to laugh with them, and taken a lot of chirps with a good attitude. He’s been thrown under the bus, but he doesn’t seem to mind anymore. Even in some of his spats and flame wars, by the time it’s over Kesler has ended up looking more mature than certain members who are much older than him.

Say what you will about Kesler, but his presence in the league is welcome, and he has shown a ton of growth as a member and player. If he could just learn to fucking spell, he could become one of the more memorable people to pass through the VHL, and not for the reasons one might assume.

Well I'm not planning on ever becoming VHL GM, should I be replaced as VHLM GM?

These jobs should be filled with the intent to keep new members active by having active and helpful GM's. Yes, it can also be used for people to gain experience using STHS, but I don't think it should be the only prerequisite. For example; a guy like Kesler may never be a VHL GM, but I think he's being overlooked as a VHLM GM. I bet he'd be just as good, if not better than at least half of the VHLM GM's last season.

    That's just my opinion..

    What's Next For Landry?

DAVOS - The times are certainly changing for Thomas Landry. After being an afterthought to the VHL during the Season 33 VHL Entry Draft, he clawed his way into the league with the New York Americans, eventually landing in Davos with the HC Dynamo for a king's ransom. While he may have been on two Founders' Cup champions in two years in the VHLM, in two seasons in the VHL he has two first round exits to show for it. While none of that can be placed upon Landry on his own, that hasn't stopped him from starting to work harder and harder on improving himself even more.

"I've already managed to shed several negative labels placed upon me," said Landry. "This won't be any different."

Labeled as a soft player after Season 34, when he only recorded two hits over the course of 72 games, many figured Davos, a team in need of a physical presence, was a bad fit for the young forward. However, Thomas Landry got the last laugh, recording a staggering 319 hits (317 more than the previous season), good for fourth in the VHL. The unexpected physical presence the HC Dynamo received from Landry was a contributing factor to Davos' dramatic turnaround this season. Despite that, many feel that he was still not worth the high price paid for him.

In 72 games, Landry finished with 26 goals and 33 assists, good for 59 points and 5th on the team in that statistic. He also finished with 117 penalty minutes, way up from the zero he had a season before. His -3 rating also shows a need to improve defensively. All in all, he was not a consistent presence on offense and that is something that will need to drastically change if Davos wishes to build upon their season next year.

"Sure, there's a lot I could improve on," continued Landry. "But then again, what player couldn't say they had nothing to improve upon? There's a whole off-season ahead of me, along with the Super Cup. I will have plenty of time to study film, work on my skills and take the ice next season as exactly the kind of player Victor Alfredsson, my teammates and the city of Davos need me to be and you can count on that."

With young players such as Landry, Matteo Gallo, Sergey Brovalenko and Matt Bentley, the HC Dynamo certainly have a promising future, especially with Lennox Moher in net. But in order for that talent to pay off, they'll need to learn to better utilize each other. While Landry has already made it his mission to become a playmaker to create more opportunities and scoring chances for the team (especially the deadly Brovalenko), better defensive play will be the true aspect that Davos must improve on if they wish to make it past the first round of the playoffs.

Player pages haven't been updated in weeks, Kesler is willing (and apparently capable) of filling in, why not at least give him a one or two week trial? He sucks at spelling and grammar and pretty much everything to do with literacy, but updating doesn't require much of that, what's the harm in giving him a chance?
