Yeah, I've ran player and team leagues basketball wise. I've simmed for other leagues. I know what it takes. You can't tell me you don't lose a ton of guys in VHLM that are new and sign up each season. If you showed them the progress of their player, you'd increase the percentage that stayed quite a bit.

Its actually quite easy to balance the 15 minutes needed to earn TPE and the 10,080 minutes in a week.  

Do you think seeing Brookside with 100-something TPE when I first joined stopped me from wanting to be the best goalie in the M last season? Did Lars Strummer, a player who had a big lead on me at the start of the season keep me from doing PT's? No. It only made me work harder to be behind Slaughter and Fjorsstrom in just the two months I had to build on my player. If the member is intimidated by my player, then it should motivate them to work harder.

Even with not having much time you can build your player. There is a weekly welfare topic where you could claim 2 points with a single points and a 1 point VHLM training facility each week.
Despite not having much time now, you can make a nice start on your player for when you do have more time. When there are weeks when you have a bit more time you always could knock out a media spot.
 
Keep in mind that a lot of the tpe in this league comes from casual things, as tpe bonusses during the holidays, achievements for your player and a yearly training camp.
 
It doesn't take much time to build a decent player, so you might want to give it a chance before retirement.
 
You won't screw GM's or anything by staying
