Another nice listen. Thanks for the downloadable option now. I was converting the video into mp3 so you'll save me that step now.

Always good to listen to others on their VHL thoughts and what's happening around the league. I admit that I don't check every boxscore, so a show like this helps to keep up with who's hot and who's not. Thanks guys.

MexicanCow123 reacted to fyrefly in Sheldon Juniper joins the Aces
In the dead of night, on December 8th, 2020, a trade was announced between the Las Vegas Aces and the Yukon Rush. It marked the path that both teams were going to take that season; the Aces, a deep playoff run and perhaps a Founder's Cup, and the Rush, a stockpiling of draft picks and prospects. This was made official when the Rush shipped off Juniper, now a VHLM-maxed winger, to the Aces in exchange for Nathan Askarov and a second round pick in the upcoming dispersal draft. After the trade, we caught up to an exhilarated Juniper.

Reporter: Well, Sheldon, the news is out. You are now a member of the Las Vegas Aces. What's going through your head right now?

Sheldon Juniper: Mostly just "Oh my god, I just got traded". @fromtheinside, our AGM in Yukon, sent me an email to let me know in advance, which I really appreciated. @MexicanCow123 and him have been so good to me, so if you guys are watching this, thank you. It's been a pleasure to be on the Rush, and I hope you guys are successful next season.

Reporter: The team you are joining, the Aces, are clearly in a win-now mode, and you were obviously acquired to help the team win. How do you feel about that?

SJ: I'm honored that someone would think so highly of me to trade picks for me, and I'm looking for my second championship now with the Aces. It's cool to be thinking about going for the cup again. I haven't been playing at my best in Yukon, and I've had quite a few scoring slumps. It did feel good to get a hat trick a couple games ago, but I think a change in scenery might be for the better.

Reporter: Another product of this trade has been you being reunited with your friend, Swedish defenceman Linus Zetterstrom @Ledge_and_Dairy. What's it like playing professional hockey with one of your best friends?

SJ: Yeah, it's cool to be with Linus. He's a good guy, and it's cool that we might win a cup together. We obviously haven't seen much of each other recently, with him being in Vegas and me being in Yukon, and it being in the middle of the season, so it'll be fun to be on a team with him for this playoffs before he goes to Riga and I go to Vancouver next year.

Reporter: The Aces also recently received Dan Dan and Jordan Tate, two very good forwards from the Mississauga Hounds, to even further bolster their offensive depth. How do you like your odds in the playoffs?

SJ: To quote the Mandalorian, "I like those odds". I love that show by the way. Anyway, I really do like our odds. Dan Dan and Jordan Tate are huge additions, and I think we have what it takes to win the cup. I know the Reapers and the Kings are both really good, but I think if we get a little luck we can pull it off

Yukon's got a spot on the 4th line for you! We're definitely going to be an underdog this season, but with you we've got a better chance. Quote this message and say Feel The Rush! To join the team. Goodluck with your VHL Carrer!

Good evening, I would like to thank you all for joining me for this important message. Some of you know as I've talked to it with some people, and others I haven't really said a word mainly because I wasn't completely sure if I actually wanted too.

Anyways, I plan on retiring after this season, it's something that's been hard for me to decide, but I've been dealing with nagging injuries that I acquired from my Erie Otters days, and I think it's holding me and my teammates down, and I've put them off so much that all I feel is exhausted. I've lost all passion in practicing each week, day in and out, and I know there are easier solutions, but I'm not the biggest fan of them. I'm going to take this time to be able to work on myself, and get myself into better situation's that way it's not affecting me even worse to where there's not much I can do or it's too late in the future.

I really appreciate so many people I've gotten the pleasure of meeting since I've joined this league, @GustavMattias and @Berockafor giving me the only offer at the right time before I gave up because I was so confused, and helped me with the basics like, not to put 10 points into penalty shot, @Jubo07 for drafting me even though I still don't get why because it was so random, and putting up with me half the time which probably won't change as I'll stay in touch as much as I possibly can. And finally to the good friends that have come along the way which I was going to shout out, but I don't want to miss anyone or leave anyone out.

Now, out of my players view because I want this for my media spot, which probably wasn't the best, and I do apologise, but anyways I plan on taking a small break that could turn into not coming back, minimum a vhl season, but I'm not going to promise anything. I watched myself posting an article and wanting to gain more, and more TPE as I could, to only claiming welfare which I get is fine, but it's not as fun to me, and I've gotten to the point where I don't even want to do that half the time, so I really want to take this break to refresh my memory and try to work on myself and maybe bring back the urge to write more and more shitty articles, or maybe even try another horrible attempt at a graphic.

I seriously want to give @Jubo07appreciation for putting up with me as he's talked me out of retiring a few times in the past and told me I should wait until I started deprecation. That and for being in my opinion such a great team with so much good vibes.

I'm sorry if this isn't the best writing and filler with grammar errors I've been putting this off for a few weeks.

    love you all ❤️

OK so this is my first stab at doing a podcast with video overlays. It's a little rough around the edges, but myself and @Zetterberg, @MexicanCow123 and @Moose put alot of work into this. Hopefully over time we can refine these and make them better. And just to get out in front of it, I apologize for the jacked up audio. The levels of the other three are really low and also I recorded on StreamLabsOBS and it picked all my breathing in the mic lol. Usually when I'm on Discord I have my mic sensitivity set up so that kinda stuff isn't getting picked up. So that was definitely an oversight on my behalf. There are timestamps in the YT video description. Hope you guys like it and all feedback is welcome.

I won't be claiming, but I believe Moose and Cow are. Also big thanks to @Zetterberg for doing the logo and helping with the VHLM graphics!

Both of these guys seem like really upstanding dudes. I hope the best for the Rush outside of their Mississauga games, for now. Great interview questions, and thank you so much for posting this! The formatting really does the job better than having added something like M: and F: to each of the lines. Thanks for posting this, it's a great insight into the operation of another team.

MexicanCow123 reacted to JigglyGumballs in Mexico City's Drug Cartel
So I get what you're saying. A non-Mexico player talking about Mexico? Well let's just say that we in Vegas are just as involved in this as Mexico is. This is probably something people already know about anyways. Mexico City has a drug cartel, or as @Hylands and @rory call it "Royalty." We all know that they sneak narcotics all across the VHLM to make a fortune apart from their hockey team. So why am I talking about this? Well you see, I wanna show you the process as to how Mexico it is now. The operations of the drug cartel from what I know. I'm not trying to expose Mexico in anyway, on the contrary actually. I wanna show people the level of complexity these operations go through. And if any other team wants to be involved, just fly down south and you can probably make a deal with Mexico.

Because Mexico City is in...Mexico, they needed to establish a hub in the US so they can sell their drugs on a mass scale in NA. That's where Las Vegas comes in. For a handsome amount of cash, Vegas purchases these drugs and acts as the middleman. Selling them across Vegas and everywhere else at a much cheaper price than what they bought. Some might ask, wouldn't Vegas just lose money if they keep selling the drugs for cheap and buying them from Mexico at a much higher price? For the most part, yes. However, that's where Yukon comes in. Yukon is known to have a good amount of gold, even after the initial gold rush. And along with the need of establishing a Canadian base of operations, Vegas struck a deal with Yukon. Giving them a larger share of Mexico's drugs in exchange for money/gold in order to pay for more of those drugs.

So in reality, the money gained from selling the drugs to the rest of NA is reused to buy more from Mexico, a cycle of narcotics where everyone gains something. Mexico gains money, Yukon gets a shit ton of drugs, and Vegas gets drugs and small profit from selling drugs. Without Yukon or Vegas, places like Ottawa and Houston, two of the biggest buyers due to their lack of success, would lose their connections, and thus Mexico loses in profits gained. Meaning that this cartel is dependent on this trio. Another thing of note is that sources tell me that a good chunk of the M league's budget is dependent on the profits of the Mexico City drug cartel.

I hope you enjoy my little insight on operations. We may not like Mexico in the playoffs, but at least we manage a good business relationship to ensure our success and the success of the league. And @MexicanCow123 and @fromtheinside too. Without your gold, we wouldn't be able to buy drugs and sell them for cheap.
