  3. It's the regular season, my SV% was too high. Things are going all according to plan.
  4. I'll take this one on since I have a couple weeks to write it.
  5. @Poptart Would appreciate one for MIN
  6. Obviously we discussed this in private a bit. This is really good insight into how the league tries to be towards everyone. We had a really good chat today and I think you fit into this league really well. It's not easy to come into anything that's so male dominated and express what you have today and I applaud you for that. The league as a whole has shifted and while we aren't perfect (me especially/included) we are working to get as close as we can. I've now been lucky to have you on my team as a player, hopefully we can bring home the cup later on this season with your help! If you ever have an interest in the management side of things I would implore you to go for it!
  7. That's a hard pass, thanks though! I'll stick to trying to get a 4th Kanou in the next 3 seasons.
  8. Congrats @Banackock on hitting 900 W's, man you're old! Also hey, 200 wins! Only fitting to topple the Calgary rivals to get there.
  9. I'm in again
  10. I'm not really sure where to start this. This past week has been a whirlwind of events and protests. I have shared my thoughts and opinions on the situation at hand so I will refrain from doing so here. With that said, I feel an obligation as a student who is in a good position to contribute and as the GM of the Minnesota Storm to making the world a better place. I have decided to contributed 50$ to various organizations: $15 to the NAACP Minneapolis Branch; The vision of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights without discrimination based on race. $15 to WASAC (Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport Achievement Centre); WASAC currently offers year round programming for thousands of children and youth in Winnipeg and in Northern communities in Manitoba. $20 to the VHL Charity Drive to the two charities to be named later. On behalf of the Minnesota Storm I applaud this community for coming together in times like this. Sometimes we all need some love and support from people, no matter how far apart we are in both distance and appearance. We are all one people. ~Rayz

  12. If you ask Victor, I just need to retire and I'm in.
  13. Before I finish listening to this @fishy please continue the Apple slander. On a side note, welcome to the league! Hope to see you stick around and enjoy the community.
  14. Someone teach him how to put his Sig in the signature spot please
  15. 1. What do you think about the choice of Captains this season? Two not surprising and one a bit but makes sense after thought 2. Who will be our point leader at the end of the year? I'm going to bet of Greene picking up pace 4. Who is our best Forward? I think Legrande is doing a tidy job so far 7. Who would you want on our team? I would like to pick up Adrienne (orbiting deaths player) 9. Can we get a 4th cup? I think it's possible, we are a strong team yet again. 10. Why do you think Seattle has had so much success recently is it cause of Bana or just sheer dumb luck? Some luck but I lean towards Banas' leadership keeping us together and retooling on the fly.
  16. The following statement was released an hour ago by the Minnesota Storms social media team: "While what Oh Sens did was reprehensible and a bad show for Miami and the VHLM as a whole, I can not blame him for wanting to take action when he was being harassed and verbally abused by a fan. I do sincerely hope that the league and the Miami Marauders GM Ricer decides to not take take action against his player at this time and that they will stick to a verbal warning. I do appreciate the Oh Sens reached out to me following the incident and his polite gesture. Thankfully he didn't break much of value and as such we kindly turned down his offer to replace the broken equipment. As for the fan in question, he was identified as a Oslo Storm sympathizer who had bought tickets to try to trash our current fans good name by making a scene. We had him removed from the arena after the incident and he has since been banned for life from entering any property owned by the Minnesota Storm and the team has also filed a restraining order in hopes to keep him away from away games as well." ~Frank Funk GM of the Minnesota Storm
  17. With my one year anniversary in Minnesota coming up on the 31st I thought I’d look back at some of the impact I’ve had on the VHLM and VHL as well as just some general stuff. S67 Draftees TPE Progression (Sadly TPE unknown at draft) 1.01 – Berocka Sundqvist (1021 TPE now) 1.08 – Danny DeYeeto (258 TPE now) 2.04 – Stanley Sawchuk (Traded on selection, 64 TPE) Retired 2.10 – Hugh Chan (490 TPE now) IA 4.04 – Mac Hooper (297 TPE now) IA 4.06 – Ryo Yamazuki II (540 TPE now) 5.05 – Charles Drum (577 TPE now) 7.02 – Ondrej Ohradka (576 TPE now) S68 Draftees TPE Progression No picks made worth mentioning S69 Draftees TPE Progression 3.04 – Toppi Attakallio (63 TPE at the draft, 131 TPE now) Retired S70 Draftees TPE Progression 1.11 – Uhtred (154 TPE at the draft, 467 TPE now) 2.07 – Aleelee Kiak (131 TPE at the draft, 322 TPE now) 3.03 – Alex Burrows (124 TPE at the draft, 152 TPE now) IA 3.09 – Kendall Rasmussen (66 TPE at the draft, 98 TPE now) IA 3.10 – Jaxx Hextall (191 TPE at the draft, 616 TPE now) 4.03 – Jack Feriancek (95 TPE at the draft, 258 TPE now) 6.03 – Raiens Grasis (32 TPE at the draft, 85 TPE now) IA S71 Draftees TPE Progression 1.07 – Woody Mcpine (78 TPE at the draft, 256 TPE now) 1.09 – Latteral Mitchell (151 TPE at the draft, 365 TPE now) 1.11 – Robin Winter (174 TPE at the draft, 383 TPE now) 2.02 – Valtteri Vaakanainen (166 TPE at the draft, 401 TPE now) 2.04 – Gavin Harris (123 TPE at the draft, 168 TPE now) IA 2.08 – Squirrely dan (136 TPE at the draft, 259 TPE now) S72 Draft Class 1.13 – Liam Flaten (183 TPE at the draft) 2.02 – Joe Exotic (171 TPE at the draft) 2.11 – The Terrible Trivium (130 TPE at the draft) 3.02 – Groovy Dood (70 TPE at the draft) 3.07 – Han Jae Kuk (88 TPE at the draft) 3.10 – Cole Newhook (97 TPE at the draft) 3.12 – Mikeal Keef (91 TPE at the draft) 4.02 – Michael Hall (109 TPE at the draft) Trades: S66: 7 S67: 19 S68: 7 S69: 4 S70: 17 S71: 6 S72: 7 (So far) Total: 67 Trades (11.17/season) I had planned to total the players in and players our as well as picks in and picks out before I got to the number of total trades and had to say fuck that shit. Is there a correlation to me making massive moves and winning? Let’s see: S67: 53-14-5 (3rd place), 4 individual awards, GMoTY, Founders Cup finalists. S68: 42-20-10 (3rd place), 1 individual award. S69: 21-44-7 (9th place), 1 individual award. S70: 61-8-3 (1st place), 2 individual awards, GMoTY, Founders Cup Champions S71: 53-17-2 (3rd place), 1 individual award. S67 and S70 were our best for sure; curiously that’s when we had 19 and 17 trades respectively. Does this mean trading means your team will do better and win more, no. You do need a plan and the ability to find ways around hardships your team may be having. It would be hard to argue that I’ve had anything but a great tenure in Minnesota. I would’ve like another cup but 4/5 seasons finishing in the top 3 in a league who’s winning cycles tend to be 1 season on and 1 off is nothing short of great. Fun fact, I’ve only had two AGM’s over my year long tenure. Hiring @DMaximus in S66 and then losing him after S67 to go GM Philadelphia. @Mr_Hatter has been my helper ever since. I do have to give both credit where it’s due, Dmaximus was a help while I got my bearings early on and including that S67 cup run, so thank you for your time in Minnesota. Hatter, you had a bigger impact than I could have expected when I hired you all those seasons ago. You are as much a part of the Minnesota Storm image as I am and are a huge key as to why we were successful and why our locker room atmosphere was often cheery even when quiet. Thank you to all the GM’s of the past and present VHLM. You guys put up with my pestering for trades and talking and it helped me thrive. As well without you guys to compete against there would be a distinct lack of enjoyment and fun day in and day out when you chirp each other. Lastly a thank you to @Banackock and @diamond_ace, you guys took a risk on a first generation player not even through half of his first season. I would like to think I’ve done my best to pay you guys back for that trust. You guys put up with a ton of shit and have helped the VHLM thrive over your tenure and for that I applaud you. Cheers VHLM, it has been a blast!
  18. @Sonnet I'm sorry, just don't open this one. Minnesota ties 3 records in goals, team assists and team points in a game!
  19. EFL +6 (Presentation #3)
  20. Post in this thread to claim welfare/pension for this week. If you are claiming welfare/pension, you cannot claim any 6 TPE Point Tasks for this week (Media Spot/Graphic/Podcast) or League jobs paying 6+ TPE. VHL Welfare Plan - Members with fewer than two 700+ TPE players may claim 4 TPE VHL Pension Plan - Members who have created two or more 700+ TPE players (past or present) may claim 5 TPE VHL Affiliate Plan - Members who post a Point Task this week, in either the EFL or SBA, may link to that Point Task to claim 6 TPE Once you reach 700 TPE with your current player, if that is your second player to reach 700, you are allowed to claim the pension plan. So instead of only taking in account previous players it also accounts for your current one. Example: Green has had Remy LeBeau (TPE: 1301) in the past. Thomas O'Malley, his second player, is now past 700 TPE, he is eligible for the VHL Pension Plan. Note: Welfare/Pension Plan are not eligible for Doubles Weeks. Affiliate Plan is only eligible for Donation Doubles.
  21. This is either a really good sign, or a really bad sign.
  22. In theory most teams keep a chunk of their team. In VHL it makes perfect sense to keep most of a teams ELO (this is done in NHL ELO calcs to show progression over time) VHLM it makes less sense but I did it last season so I'm just continuing it as it is still nice to "reward" teams for their past performance. Though I may increase the % loss/gain

  24. Welcome back to yet another season of me analysing the VHLM's ELO chart. Let's start with last season and how we adjusted for this season S71 End > S72 Start MIN 1280 > 1196 OTT 1421 > 1294.7 PHI 1198 > 1138.6 SDM 1014 > 1009.8 LVA 1133 > 1093.1 YUK 1256 > 1179.2 HOU 751 > 825.7 MEX 649 > 754.3 MIS 547 > 682.9 SSK 975 > 982.5 HFX 776 > 843.2 I kept it more simple this season, every team moved 30% closer to 1000 ELO. This means OTT loses a big chunk while on the other end MIS bumps them up quite a bit. Now Miami starts at 1000, with enough bonuses in expansion I feel it's fine to but them at the baseline. OTT is worse off, as expected. SDM and HOU may make me need another graph expansion at this rate. Mexico is actually a decent team this season, we will see if they can keep it up and get above 1000 Now I'll see you next week whenever I feel like making another one of these.
