  3. Well it's Sunday now and I apparently forgot to write about anything yet. So in this case I guess I need to figure out something. Thankfully, Bana gave me an easy thing to talk about. Funk finally get's to rest as Team Canada falls to Team Nordic in the finals. Funk misses out on Gold but leads Team Canada to it's first medal in quite a few tournaments. It's not really the send off I wanted for him but I can't complain about his career. A permanent All-Star, four Continental Cups, four Kanous, Bears Captain and now Funk will have his Jersey lifted to the rafters and on top of that his number will be retired. No one will ever wear the number 33 for Seattle again. While it was a rumour for a while in the Locker Room it's still a surprise and an honour to have this happen. Seattle will always be The Team and I would argue that the core team is one of if not the best dynasty in the history of the VHL. So props to Bana for building the team to allow us to thrive.
  4. I better start over @Mr_Hatter @OrbitingDeath ?
  5. Always a good time to write when your stocks are all up. 3% in a day is very satisfying to watch. I guess maybe investors are liking seeing the red sea turn blue? Anyways I need to ramble about something other than stocks here even if I discuss it with VHL members. Minnesota has been doing well. I've been behind the scenes working on trade deals to get us set up for a future run at the cup. It's never an easy thing to do but I'm always up for a challenge. Since I took over mid S66 I've only had two seasons as a non contender, so last season felt weird. This season will feel weird as well since we won't be all that competitive, though I do hope to challenge for playoffs. It's going to be tough as we will be stuck using the waiver system. It'll be all on keeping new joiners active and thriving as we try to push to the top.
  6. Assuming everything called by the Associated Press holds, at this point Biden needs to pick up any of the four remaining (NV, PA, NC and GA)
  7. It's about that time of the week (thankfully not the month), it's time to write an article for TPE and affiliate PT. Now I'm not really sure what to write about this time. Funk missed the playoffs for his first time since his rookie season, Minnesota has missed the playoffs for the first time since S69. So for the first time in a long while I haven't had anything to do in the playoffs. Hopefully Funk get's to ride into the sunset in the World Cup in the off-season. That said I did have some bit in the playoffs as Alexander Funk joined Ottawa a little while prior to playoffs to get some time in. We pushed Yukon to the 7th game, much farther than expected. Now I don't know where I'll get drafted in the draft with all the new players who joined this season and a lot of them having make up TPE. Being drafted outside round 1 is a possibility.
  8. Applying for Team Canada, would love to GM Funks Retirement party!
  9. 1. How do you think we are performing in the playoffs? Pretty happy so far. Hoping to come out on top. 3. Who would you say has been a great leader in the Locker Room for S74? I've enjoyed Anthony Suzuki 4. What are you excited for the most this offseason? Being back in a draft, going to be weird. 5. How was your experience with the Ottawa Lynx’s management? There's a reason I came here. 6. Would you watch “Alumni” live sims done on the NHL games with @DoktorFunk and myself doing commentary over it? This is an interesting idea, seems cool. 7. Would you be interested in being a guest on the DaSLN podcast? (Dok and Spyro’s League News) Always obviously
  10. 1. Ping, REEEEEE (Kidding, I don't mind pings) 2. This was unnecessary, BOG will already have this under discussion but I do like the write up. 3. Personally I want+need proof of sustainability due to my history of seeing failures. 4. There are other factors. If we go back to 6-4-1 then yes, if we stay at 9-6-1 or more than we may not. 5. If we get a repeat of this season next season then I can see expansion at the end of said season.
  11. I saw someone mention VHL/VHLM betting, I'd love to handle that if it comes to the league in any capacity
  12. 1. Gorlab is a smelly man 2. I think we can be happy but we need to focus on making the playoffs first 3. I think the VHL is better and worse in some ways since I joined 4. We should probably wait and see if it's repeatable 5. I'd love to play with DoktorFunk again, dudes a boss 6. Definitely athletic clothes, Under Armour is probably my #1 brand
  13. Going into his eighth season Funk has announced he will retire from the crease at the end of the season. "I've had an amazing time throughout my career. Spending 7 seasons in Seattle, being captain, winning 4 cups and 4 Kanous. It's hard to not be happy with how my career played out. I plan to finish out the season with Davos and hope to bring them some hardware. With that said though, I'd like to thank my former GM @Banackockfor his leadership and management of Seattle during my time there. It was a blast and his leadership led us to those cups. I'd also like to shout out @DoktorFunk @Berocka for their time playing alongside with me. Their attitude and their effort made me keep mine up and lead to a great time during my Seattle stay." With the season winding down Davos is fighting for a playoff spot, time will tell if we get to see one more glimpse of that Playoff Funk Magic.
