To accommodate this change, yes. 

We have a small change that might excite a few folks!

Starting this season (85) the VHLE playoffs will have a wild card round!

What that means is the  #4 seed will play the #5 seed a best of 3 games. 

Wildcard Round: #4 seed vs #5 seed. (3 games?)

So it will look like

Wild Card:

#4 vs #5

Semi Finals:

#1 seed vs #4/#5 seed

#2 seed vs #3 seed?

Finals:

#1/#4/#5 vs #2/#3

With the recent announcement of @KaleebtheMighty and @thadthrasher 's much deserved appoint to VHL GM jobs. We are once again forced to put up another hiring thread. Thank you both for all that you've done with your teams since the inaugural season of the VHLE.

I would say its only one way G -> Skater not vice versa. I also am not sure if we should limit it to only first gens as the majority of goalies in 85 aren't first gens.

If anything it's proof that the VHL needs more members to sustain the VHL vs having more than enough in the VHLE. It's not the E's fault that recruitment has been down. This change only affects a few members each season but gives the VHL GMs more power when we have dry recruitment runs, to be able to fill a roster.

It has nothing to do with moving players out of the VHLE. Has everything to do with not enough players being in the VHL and giving the VHL GMs the opportunity to call up players earlier if they so choose.

So this change which is going to take affect starting season 85 is as follows. 

The new soft cap to move up to the VHL is now 300 (lowered from 350) the hard cap stays at 400.

This does not mean that at 300 you automatically move up to the VHL, it means that your VHL GM and you (hopefully) can agree to be called up and play in the VHL at 300 TPE if the GM chooses to call you up. 

This change provides VHL GMs with the ability to use players they've drafted sooner on their roster if they so choose. This change does not affect the timing of calls up or send downs. Those dates/rules remain the same.

I mean the option wouldn't be you're making the choice to  skip the E, more the GM you're drafted by has the option to call you up earlier if they so choose. 

So this may be a stupid idea but what if we allowed players to change positions from Goalie to either D or F just this once since we have such an influx of goalies? 

I mean my latest player is a goalie and i'll gladly swap positions to help alleviate this issue. I don't really want to recreate again. I'm pretty sure we've done this in the past so maybe this could be an option? I'm not saying it's the total fix but it may alleviate some of the issue. 

All of the vhle gms are aware of this, I told them well before the last draft so they could plan. I was going to post it during the offseason but was told to hold off. If we're ready for a league announcement now that's fine.
