      Same @Phil

I think we're really well built to defend the 3 so I wouldn't be shocked to see it go down the stretch.

  2. Saturday, May 25th, at 8 AM I decided to get the the gym before practice starts. We’ve been doing well recently and I intend to keep my end of the bargain up. I’ve been speaking to Shad Forsythe, a well renowned fitness expert in the sport of soccer as he is currently the head of athletic performance enhancement for Arsenal Football Club. I’ve been doing a new bodybuilding program so I can get my size up to par compared to the rest of the goalies in the league. This is my first men’s league and man the adjustment has been humongous. The previous leagues I’ve played in have never been this demanding, physical and hardworking and yet I’m addicted to it. I think I’m starting to fall in love with the hard work associated with this league. I have been following Shad’s advice since preseason with Halifax. He’s pushed me towards adding yoga to my regimen as that helps with my flexibility. It’s also helped with preventing injury and keeping me durable throughout the season. It’s been a tough season battling with Thorvald for the starting spot. Shad also pushed me to become a vegan as that has given me more energy to train. Veganism is hard, definitely something I’ll keep up through the season but the second offseason comes around, I’m making myself a steak. Just saying. I’m sick of looking at lentils and edamame. Yuck. Granted I’m willing to eat this nasty stuff if it helps me push forward and makes me the number 1. All I have in my mind right now is to be the best, to take my chances and help the team and Shad has been incredible in that by pushing me out of my comfort zone. It’s paid off, really. I’ve been doing a 3x5 split of Bent Over Rows, Bench Press and Squats on one day. 3x5 on the other as well with Chin ups, Overhead Press and Deadlifts. On top of this I run a circuit every morning mostly comprised of bodyweight exercises. 20 squats, 10 pushups, 20 lunges (10 per leg), 20 dumbbell rows, 15 second plank and 20 jumping jacks. I do this 3 times every single morning and night, without fail. One thing is for certain is that I’m taking my magnesium every night! This entire regimen has given me confidence I can succeed this year. I just need to work on my mental game. If I can focus on not letting myself over think then I can be successful. There are some mental exercises I need to work on in order to push past these inconsistencies. I’ve been speaking with the GM and he’s been offering me a lot of advice on how to get past these issues. Gladly, I think I’m taking the right approach towards improving, mentally. With the draft coming up, I haven’t been looking at the draft rankings but from what I’ve heard from teammates and my agent, that I’ll most likely be going late in the draft, that has given me a fire under my belly to prove my worth. Just wait.
  3. Granted, Justin had 32 stops on 33 shots. Don't blame him when I faced 9 shots in total. Deserved for him imo @Rayzor_7
  4. 1) I'm unsure really. Hopefully I get on a team where theres opportunity for me. Thats all I need, really. 2) Well, I'd like to think I'm super hardworking and dedicated. Hopefully I can talk to a few VHL scouts to see if I mesh with their plans going forward. 3) White on blue with a big logo. 4) Well, we take everyday as it comes. I think our hard work is making us improve every game. Just keep doing what we're doing. 5) I'm still at the gym but then I'll most likely just relax. Meet some friends or watch some Netflix. 6) Dominik Hasek.
  5. YAAAAAAS B 1st of many shutouts hopefully!
  6. Ha first shutout so maybe it was the article
  7. Michael Johnson can’t seem to get it going when he’s starting games. Thorvald started 5+ games in a row due to this. Michael did relieve Thorvald a few times and looked incredible off the bench. Although, when Michael has been starting his games, he’s been absolutely lackluster. Against the last placed Houston Bulls, Michael let in 4 goals on 19 shots for 15 saves. This leaves his save percentage at 0.789 which has brought his record at 5-5-1. If stats told a story, it would be that Michael has been carried by the rest of his team. I caught up with Johnson real quik to get a quik gauge on his thoughts on this. “I need to get into the game quicker. It seems like right now I’m letting the nerves get to me and it’s apparent that my pre-game ritual isn’t working as well. I’ve been talking to the leaders in the locker room and coaches and they’re all helping me work on being consistent on the ice”

  19. Michael Johnson has tapped into his heritage roots to join Team Asia. His grandparents are of Indian descent. Michael decided to switch nationalities due to the competition and pecking order of goalies in the Team Canada camp and saw a great opportunity to get into a national team camp this way. Another reason Michael has chosen this route is due to the emotional connection he has to his grandparents. He’s felt a life-long debt to his grandparents due to the undivided support he was given by them in the past. “The major factor that lead to me deciding to make the switch was to make my grandparents proud. I’ve always been close to them. They’ve always supported me through everything and anything. I remember when I first told them that I was pursuing hockey as a career. They were the first people to encourage me that I was making the right decision. Unfortunately, they passed a few years ago, but I’m dedicating this all to them. My international career is all for them.” The team was announced today that Johnson alongside Evgeny Rapinsky (of Russia) will be the goalies representing Team Asia for the World Junior Championships. “I just want to thank @Enorama for the opportunity to join the team and live out my dreams to represent my family and nation in a way. I hope I can make the Team Asia fans proud.” Team Asia looks to be adding strongly for this tournament with several top quality players. Matthew Kai, Chico Smeb, Viktor Kozlov and Acyd Burn just to name a few. Asia looks to be rounding off the strongest team they have put out in a while. Michael looks to be slotted in as the #1 but you never know, Rapinsky also has a solid chance to start at the tournament. Michael is slotting a rough transition into the VHLM with the Halifax 21st, with a .885 SV% and a 3.06 GAA. Granted recently he’s been getting hot and challenging Thorvald Gunnarsson for the starting spot. Currently they are splitting shifts but Michael has been improving week in and week out. Thorvald Gunnarsson looks to be slumping slightly but expect to see him bump back into his regular self. Michael’s teammate in both Team Asia and Halifax, Acyd Burn, has also had a rough transition to the VHLM but is finally coming into his own with 4 points in 2 games recently. Matthew Kai, Malmo Nighthawks, has put up 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points in 29 games in the VHL this season. Chico Smeb, Riga Reign, hasn’t put up unreal stats but is an absolute defensive unit who’s dangerous on the counter. Also Viktor Kozlov, Helsinki Titans, is another defensive rock on the squad. Team Asia looks to be the defensive type of team this year and hit on the counter. I expect to see a defensive masterclass from this Asian side. @Enorama looks to have a great squad at his disposal this season. I’m quite excited to see how they fare against the likes of Team Europe, Team USA and Team Canada.
  20. And we executed it.
  21. Review: I liked how you organized this bio. Also the sad story in the beginning was fantastic. Also your note at the bottom was not necessary, it was not repetitive. Loved it.
  22. Review: I loved how it was obscure to play hockey for him. Lots of pictures which animated your bio. Great set up as well!
