In turn of recent events, VHL prospect Lek Bislimi has decided to retire from the VHLM, shutting down any chance of him being drafted. Here's a few words from Lek on why he decided to abruptly retire:
 
"The largest issue is the broken terms between this league and my sponsorships from Albania. The only reason I'm able to afford to be in this league is because of the gracious companies in my home country who decided to support me while I'm in my venture to the VHL. With the money, I was able to buy training benefits that helped me improve leaps and bounds more than I expected, something that the meager VHLM salaries would not have done. I'm not permitted to go into details on why the terms were broken, but the fact of the matter is that I'll have to leave the VHL without the financial assistance of my home country."
 
Lek was then asked what he plans to do after his retirement becomes official.
 
"I always hate to say this, but my future is up in the air. I'll probably return to Albania first and foremost, and then try to find leagues elsewhere that will allow me to accept sponsorships from my country. I enjoyed my time in the VHLM and I wish it didn't have to end this way. Hopefully the terms between this league and Albania can be fixed before my brother, Alazan Bislimi, is old enough to pursue professional hockey. Thank you."

After I saw the Houston Bulls captains get announced, I realized that Las Vegas needed some captains as well! A great start to the year has been without any captains, but that is going to change now.
 
Me and my AGM have talked about it, throwing out some names. Ultimately, we came to a conclusion with three final names; one captain and two alternate captains. We valued activity in discord the most in this process. Of course, there are many people on the team that would be worthy of Captaincy, so cutting some people out of the loop was tough. Without further ado, here are your S68 Las Vegas Aces captains and alternate captains!

Alternate- @STZ (Benny Graves)

After signing with Vegas last season as a waiver, @Juddy was a big part of our playoff push last year, and wanted to return to the team this year. We picked him at 14th overall in the draft, and he was a worthwhile selection for sure. He is productive on the ice and active in the LR.
 
Our two alternates are @STZ and @jhatty8. Both guys are active in the LR and are well known in the community, whether through the VHL or itS other affiliate leagues.

"Everything," stated Bislimi. The promising Albanian wing was shipped off in the recent VHLM Draft to play for the Aces. Lek had some comments about the transition he made. "I feel like I've visited 3 different planets in a very short time span," he said. "Albania is a little less safe than my future destinations but it's my homeland and I loved to play hockey there. Going to Halifax was a dream, the GM needed help on the wings and he discovered me while on a prospects tour in Europe. Halifax was cold and quiet, I liked it that way. But then came Las Vegas."
 
Bislimi was asked about the differences between Halifax and Las Vegas. "The cold and quiet place was gone and it's replacement was a crazy place with lights and mountains and deserts and noise and everything that Halifax doesn't have. The team style is also a bit different. In Halifax, they were stricter and very sharp. Here in Vegas, the Aces are very laid back. I'm not sure what style suits me the best yet, but I do know that Halifax is missing out on this casino thing."
 
This press conference with Lek was recorded in the offseason and translated to English while he was in Albania for vacation.

As a new retention initiative, The Recruitment Team has implemented a personalized player graphic that will be rewarded to players who reach certain benchmarks. This will be available to all players even recreates. We will start this with all Season 69 players, and beyond.
