Nice article, also thanks for the idea of an AGM persona. (I would have went for Tarasov, but I may aim lower, perhaps Pär Mårts) (Edit: I actually used to eat lunch at a local place in Stockholm where Curre Lindström regularly showed up, but since he coached Finland he is out of the question.)

New York Americans Press Conference Questions
Elmebeck replied to STZ's topic in Team Press Conferences
1. What do you think about how the draft went for us? I think it looks really solid, good TPA, a nice mix of forwards and defense plus a future Hall of Fame goalie in @.sniffuM. I also recognize almost all names, which means they're active players, so we'll have a great locker room to boot I am sure. 2. Do your have any friends or ex team mates that are now on the team, if so, who? I had a good, but not perfect season in Houston with @Dalton Wilcox, and I am very happy the organization saw fit to put us together again! 3. How would you grade how well our GM did in the draft? @Esso2264 made good trades preceding it, good picks during it, and was also a great expert commentator on ESPN between the picks. 4. Do you feel we now have a team to build into the future? I still need to look a bit closer, but spontaneously it feels like a young, eager team that will be a force to reckon with - maybe even dominate for a few season at peak. 6. How do you feel about being drafted by this team? New York was always my goal. I probably even sent them a letter late last season, and since then we've been talking. I was lucky to have pretty good development over the playoffs and during the off-season between then and the draft too, which I think made it easier for them to take a chance on me. 7. Will the locker room actually be active, will you be a part of making that happen? I think that will be one of the strengths that don't show up on paper. It's always easier to hit practices and the gym when you have good mates to pick your mood up on a bad day. -
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet!

Riga Adds Second Tate(s), A Hunter, A Chad, and Kramer
Elmebeck replied to Renomitsu's topic in VHL.com Articles
I love the Tate(s) angle. -
Elmebeck was picked 9th, perhaps a few places earlier than predicted when most expected him at most at 16th to 12th, some teams may have hoped to pick him up in the second round, but @GustavMattias (prediction come true) correctly anticipated the young Swede's position in the draft. While Hockey News at this time only have second hand reports and photos that can't be tied to this night, apparently Elmebeck and @Dalton Wilcox got loaded at a bar in Brooklyn, then ordering "PIZZA FOR EVERYONE!" at the local street, until Elmebeck ended up at a local late night tattoo artist and got the New York Americans logo on to his chest. It is unbeknownst where Wilcox ended up at the end of the night. Elmebeck on a wild night out after a great draft night, and then some. Allegedly. @Esso2264 and @Jtv123 did not return calls to comment. The draft for New York Americans, and the trades made ahead of it seems to have landed them in a pretty good spot, with Flowers @CowboyinAmerica taken in 2nd, Eller @Ace in 6th, Guy @.sniffuM and Elemebeck in 8th and 9th, Nolan @studentized in 13th, Sage @AcousticKazoo in 16th, a possible steal with Grim @aCrypticPancake in 22nd, and li @Donno100 and Walker @hewasajazzman in 33rd and 35th respectively. Late picks that may exceed their position in the draft may be Martell @Shaka at 45th and Bud Knight @Dilly Dilly in 53rd. Included in that was the trade for Wilcox @Dalton Wilcox which was negotiated with Prague after being picked up from Malmö in the expansion draft. It does seem like the Americans are on a good path for the future. Pizza for everyone.

Seeing as I will be in the VHL for my first season now, could you expand on some things to keep in mind. It may be just how to build your stats, or other things of importance. Like VHLM is 1-2 seasons for most active players, but then VHL will probably be a much longer time with the same team. As a corollary, since I applied as AGM for an VHLM team, what would your experience - either as an AGM/GM/player - be for being successful in the VHLM, or even in the VHL in the position of either AGM or GM?

The number 566 is a mixture of influences of the numbers 5, 6 and the number 8, which is a sum of all three numbers (5+6+6=17=1+7=8). The number 5 carries the vibration of change, major life lessons, decisions, adventure, individuality, independence, resourcefulness, adaptability, idealism, intelligence, personal freedom and action. The number 6 appears twice and its influence is heightened. It signifies balance, stability, adaptability, responsibility, reliability, home, family, nurturing, caring and providing for one’s material needs. The number 8 symbolizes business, manifesting wealth and abundance, realism, karma, inner wisdom, prosperity, dependability, achieving success and responsibility. As a combination of all these influences, the number 566 symbolizes manifesting abundance and wealth to provide for your and the needs of your family. It also signifies adaptability, balance, home, family, stability, responsibility, dependability, realism, idealism, success, action, and personal freedom. People who resonate with the number 566 are very business oriented. They are focused on achieving success, gaining wealth, abundance and establishing financial stability in life, so they could help provide for their family and loved ones, as well for themselves. These people enjoy spending their time in their home with their family members. They are dependable, reliable and adaptable.

So I am still not 100% sure I will do this more than once, but I am gearing up for it for next week at least. Which means most of the time will go to looking back at the past season, AGM-ship and the two drafts. But if anyone wants to make sure I talk about specific things regarding the items below, or have some sort of flavor or personal questions to ask, please feel free. So this is what I am thinking that would be topical for now; Joining process First season impressions and players I have interacted with AGM-ship, probably quite short, not sure how much I have to say about that yet Expansion draft Dispersion draft

Damn, second time I do that (I think I copy/pasted some other team wrongly in another article)! I know I meant to write Dragons! Sorry! Fixed it.

Fredrik Elmebeck, who spent the past season under @FrostBeard in Houston Bulls, has been rising in the rankings ahead of tomorrow's dispersion draft. We called him up while he apparently was at a small coffee shop in Queens to put him to the wall and lay the truth bare. Hockey News: So first you were singing the praise of New York Americans and @Esso2264, and then you went out talking about joining @diamond_ace in Prague Phantoms, and there are even rumors that DC Dragons and @Enorama and you were in talks, what's the straight up truth here? Have you been shopping around or trying to maneuver for a better contract? Fredrik Elmebeck: I am completely committed to New York, if they will have me. And it is true I was considering Prague for a while, I get along well with the GM there and it's also a once in a lifetime chance to play an inaugural season with a new franchise. It is also true I have been approached by DC Dragons, among others. And to be honest, I've been tempted by all offers, and flattered by the attention; but my mind is set on New York. Again, if they will have me and see a place for me in their organization. HN: Queens, you said at the start of the call, what are you doing there? FE: No comment. Elmebeck has promised a longer interview after the draft, when the result is known.

Rooting for @JeffD and @Sixersfan549, go Bulls!

I predicted (heh, we'll see) the outcome of the S68 draft. I have some rapport going on with some GMs. I check the ratings, the earnings, the new people. But mostly, I really like this site and the people I have met here. I am a programmer by trade, statistician as a hobbyist, Swedish language and philosophy by education (that was a mistake to take at university level luckily, programming). In the short term I can offer you that I am interested in keeping track on member activity, I love the wheelings and dealings here, and talking to new recruits and bring them in to the league. I don't really care about the TPE (I guess it's capped TPE?), but I think I could do great work for Saskatoon to bring new members in and care for them during the season. But yeah, if you would entertain me applying for the role I would be happy to take it at Saskatoon Blind, sorry, Wild.

I'm in. I think maybe I have a Yahoo-login so would prefer that.

Change Requirements for Asking Press Conference Questions
Elmebeck replied to Gustav's topic in Suggestions and Complaints
I've seen a few asking ten questions in the Player Press Conferences, and then people who answer can kind of curate the six questions they'd rather answer. So I like alternative one, whether it should be 10 or 12 that is required. -
Team Building Exercises 9/11: Lovin' Peace
Elmebeck replied to HenrikZoiderberg's topic in Archived Media Spots
VHL Media Spot Generator I believe FrostBeard appeared last week though. -
1. I'm a spastic, I go all in or don't do it at all (or half-arsed), and this is just fun to put some time into. Getting back to writing, making graphics, using your imagination. 2. Stats are secondary. But I have realized I am a bit TPE-obsessed. Maybe that will pass. 3. The Houston Experience (Tm) with @FrostBeard was the perfect introduction to VHL. 4. Prague. I was leaning towards New York, but with the expansion teams and @diamond_ace I believe I would be happier there. 5. Oh, again, perhaps @Tagger; solid stats and a decent amount of leadership, which rhymes well with my intended build of some sort of Lidström. 6. @Tate, singularly. 7. Again, some sort of Lidström build. Perhaps not "The Perfect Human" (I'd have loved a bit of Scott Hartnell in Lidström's demeanor), but play-by-play on the ice, something akin to that. 8. No preference. I think that's perhaps the weakness of VHL and the engine that you HAVE to have certain stats at certain levels. I would love if the simulation engine was more forgiving in players making more fun builds. 9. Nothing to fix at Houston, I think they have the best logo of VHLM. 10. I'll be moving up to VHL now, but I will probably try to stay with the team that drafts me until the end of my player's career.

New York or Prague for Elmebeck? -You have been quite vocal about either New York or Prague, even having a posse of fans using the hashtag #ElmebeckNYC, how do you yourself see this upcoming draft? -I am not sure if anyone of them can afford to take me in the first round, but that would speak volumes as to what relationship we will have. It's a pretty tricky season as far as I can tell, with Condor Adrienne wanting to go to a team he's not previously been at, one GM player, three highly positioned goalies. So it's really hard for me to see where I realistically will go. -Have you been in conversations with any of the GM's? -I have spoken to a few of them, but this is very sensitive stuff at this point and so close to the draft. -But can you tell us at least what you prefer? You seem to gravitate towards New York or Prague, but currently ranked at #16? -I would love to be picked by Prague at this point, for several reasons. -But not Malmö or Davos? -I need to speak the language there too, so no, neither of those. I think it would be amazing to be able to start in a new franchise like Prague though... while still not knowing the language. -Not New York? -I love New York as a city, and I would probably be happy there too. But Prague seems like a better fit for me at this moment. But I wouldn't be unhappy with either of those opportunities. -What are you looking for, if you could condense it? -Community and a reason to play. -Thank you for your time, and good luck in the upcoming draft. -Thank you.

Damn, I don't know how I made that mistake. I tried to follow this, and I am pretty sure I didn't mean Justice Iron. I'll pretend that player should be ready to be a replacement for Ironside. (it probably was what I was meaning, but lost the plot on, see my Calgary entry; possibly a copy-paste problem)
-
See it as a literary device I actually don't even know where to check the cap. It was just a bit drama with the strong roster Davos has.
-
A small newbie attempt at going through how the first round of the draft will go. I hope I got the order correct and didn't forget anyone important. The big gap in my knowledge is whether Malmö will take Condor Adrienne and arbitrate a trade with one of the expansion teams, or if everyone will pass on him and let expansion team #1 to grab him. I'm gonna say that grabbing him and working out some trade is the correct way to go, but maybe there is some gentlemen's agreement going on between the GM's. Again I am not privy to this or whatever trades that are going on, what kind of friendships that may upset the order a bit. Malmö - Condor Adrienne (with a trade with either of the expansion teams unless he's fine with Malmö) New York - Seem to be one of the teams that need a goalie. Unless they have some trades going with active goalies, perhaps they are looking towards A Red Guy, otherwise either Lance Flowers or Jeff Downey would make sense with the shortage of D at Americans. I have a real life enfatuation with New York, it's a magnificent city, and it would be cool if they chose me, but I think it may more sense to draft higher and pick someone that already has proven himself to be reliable for more than one season (to put this in some sort of context I expect to have a draft ranking of 15-17). Seattle - Hard to tell what Banackcock needs. I think he's fine with the D, so perhaps Thorny Underyew. But either Flowers or Downey may still be available. Davos - Davos looks to have some cap problems and three S62 players that will soon be gone in RW Jake Davis, D Konstantin Mulligan and LW Ryuu Crimson. It may make sense to perhaps pick Teemu Lehtinen Jr. Riga - They're primed to do very well next season I feel, a really active player, perhaps a D? So I am going to go for Wolf Stansson Jr to start learning from Joseph McWolf. Moscow - This is a great team in the building I feel, I think maybe a C in Sebastian Ironside (this is obviously wrong), just to prepare for C Podrick Cast's career end (this may still be true). Calgary - Calgary again is kind of like Davos, a really strong team but quickly aging. You have two S61 in D Robert Malenko and C Sebastian Ironside. The silver lining is that just like Davos they won't have that many players exposed in the expansion draft with only eleven players in their roster. I'm going to go with Frans Eller for them unless Moscow took him, in that case Sigurd Gunnar. Expansion team #1 - Not sure which one this will be, they may have traded for Condor Adrienne already, or that is still an open pick depending on how the other GM's decide to approach this. They may have D Luciano Valentino at this spot. Don't draft for position, draft the best player available. Expansion team #2 - Basically the same as above, could pick Valentino if he's still available, or Micha Sage or Owen Nolan. Both of the expansion team will need a goalie too though, but since almost no one else does I think they can wait to pick say Raymond Bernard or Samuel Ross for the second or third round (if they have not already traded for a goalie behind the scenes). Toronto - In the rankings I guess Keven Foreskin would be the obvious choice, but with GM-ship, etc, I think maybe Ryo Yamasaki II would make more sense. I really have no idea how the tradition here works, if Keven will go to New York or is open game for other GMs. Helsinki - Super strong team this past season, still young. I am not sure where their biggest weakness is or how much cap space is left, but someone higher up may still be available, or perhaps LW Kaspars Claude or RW Willie Dredge. Vancouver - Maybe cover for their star center in Rauno Paulo and try to get a C in Chad Gilbert? Edit: Spelling, clarifications. @Green @.sniffuM @CowboyinAmerica @JeffD @jack @Josh @Pandar @SlapshotDragon @Sixersfan549 @Cornholio @McWolf @pennypenny @DollarAndADream @Ace @Victor @Big Mac @Kekzkrieg @AcousticKazoo @studentized @Mr_Hatter @Brrbisbrr @Donno100 @Bruins10 @sjs88speed @jRuutu @Fire_In_Babylon @Beaviss @hedgehog337 @Quik @Bushito @Victor @Devise @ShawnGlade @Advantage @Esso2264 @Banackock @diamond_ace @Enorama

Tracking the average growth in TPA season by season
Elmebeck replied to studentized's topic in Archived Media Spots
Great analysis and breakdown. I'm new to VHL, but I like how many 200s that are new that have arrived this season,
