    April 29th - May 5th

1 - So we went out in five games versus Houston.  How tough is this loss for you?

2 - What are your plans for the offseason?  Will you be trying anything new out to improve as a player?

3 - Are you in any other sim leagues?  If so, what is the variety of sports?

4 - The Aces look to have a solid roster next season.  Where do you plan on playing?

5 - Are you still following the playoff and watching certain players?  Who are your favorites to win the three Cups?

6 - Next season you're getting another cool deposit into your bank account!  What's your player gonna spend it on?

Just a general over view of where the teams have drafted their prospects so the total number of prospects; which is used to based on their individual score to be divided to give an overall score of the teams prospect pool.

So, in the case of the copied Calgary list:

    10 Prospects in their pool

Drafted none in the first round

    Three in the second

    four in the third

Number of players on rookie contracts in the VHL

Prospects that will join the team next season.

    Inactive Prospects

It was used to try to indicate why some team might have higher scores than others and how well some teams do actually drafting in later rounds compared to say other teams. Chicago vs. Vancouver would be the best example or Warsaw vs. Moscow. As the whole process isn`t a black & white as it might seem when ranking prospects so it was my attempt to show the difference of each teams prospect pool and maybe standing within the different drafts.

If you want to see further changes or ways to make the data more clear let me know and I will try my best to improve these moving forward.

Oh damn it formatted weird on mobile where I didn't see the numbers, I just saw blank spaces

    April 22-28

1 - The playoffs are right around the corner, and there's a good chance we face the Houston Bulls.  We have a 7-2-1 record against them this season, do you like our chances?

2 - Will there be any changes to your daily routine for the playoffs?

3 - Are you superstitious about anything related to hockey?

4 - How important do you think home ice advantage is in the post-season?  How important is the crowd being into it on your side?

5 - Team chemistry is vital for playoff success.  Where are we going to go eat our team dinners, and who should pay?

6 - Speaking of dinner, what are you eating for dinner tonight?

Actually when you look at the NHL contract and ELC it is actually they are a combined 7 years contract as while the ELC is a three year or four year contract depending on games played. The player than becomes a RFA after the contract up to seven years after signing a ELC. So actually an NHL team can control a players career for 1/3 of their career based around a 20 year career. So when looking at ELC in the VHL it is like having the ELC & RFA built in together.

Yeah I didn't mean RFA, only ELC, since there is no RFA mechanic.  Maybe a three season RFA period with a standard two season ELC could spice things up?

  5. Interesting take.

I'll add that GMs put their team together the way they want and coaches should be feared.  We don't have coaches though.  GM puts the roster together and the coach has to make do if he wants to keep his job or keep a positive reputation.

Also, NTCs seem to be more reserved for elite talent, and with the Cap based on tpe and not market value, GMs can't save cap by offering NTCs, unless there's team/player options.  There's no actual mechanic for Salary vs Contract Conditions/Obligations.

Also, you didn't talk about ELCs.  Maybe they're too long?  They account for roughly 1/3rd of a player's career, unlike NHL standards it's more like 1/5th (roughly) of a player career.

    Interesting read!

    April 15 - 21

1 - Hey folks I'm the new Assistant to McLovin and it's a pleasure to be here.  I'll take some time to get to know you fine people!  Has your season gone as you had thought so far?

2 - The playoff race is pretty tight at the minute in our division, do you think we can take on our competition?

3 - Do you have more of a sweet tooth or prefer salty snacks?

4 - We have a lot of home games to play down the stretch.  Do you like to spend some time on the strip doing Vegas strip things?

5 - When you get to the big leagues, what's the first thing you're splurging on when you get your first paycheck?

6 - Are you a fan of line juggling when there's struggling?  Or do you prefer to stick to a stable lineup?

    April 14th, 2024

    1. Are you ready for this season to be over and move on to next year?

    2. What's the attitude like in the locker room ?

    3.  What's a positive you've seen from one of your teammates this season?

    4.  How do you treat the rest of this season - personal development, team bonding?

    5. Are you keeping an eye on how the rest of the league is performing?

    6. Are you excited for the NHL Playoffs to finally start?

1 - Not really.  We still have some improving to do while we have time, so this last stretch we have to continue working at it.

2 - Trying to keep our sprits up, some banter but not much else.

3 - We aren't terrible, it's just so many other teams are competing this season for playoff spots with more experienced veterans.

4 - We have to make the most of the time left this season to optimize our development.

5 - Yeah somewhat.  Next season could be interesting.

6 - Yeah round one is very entertaining.
