Claimed:Harumpf Holds Interview [GRADED 6/6]
Harumpf replied to Harumpf's topic in Archived Career Tasks
No problem, don't forget to wash down there once in a while also. -
Harumpf Holds Interview Oskars Harumpf live via Sattelite talks about joining the Helskinki Titans. We're joined today by the newest member of the Helsinki Titans, Oskars Harumpf. Before we bring him on, let's give you a quick recap of who he is. Harumpf is a 5'5" 250 playmaking center from Middelfart Denmark. He came to the VHL 2 seasons ago and was claimed off waivers by Saskatoon. He was then taken 4th overall by Bratislava in the VHLM dispersal draft and 6th overall by Helsinki in the VHL draft. Last season in Bratislava he won the Founder's Cup and also the Oates Trophy as the player with the most assists in the entire VHLM (130), good for 5th all-time. He also was named to team Scandinavia in the S40 World Cup and helped them win Silver. As if that wasn't enough he was just named Assistant Captain for Helsinki as a rookie. Quite a ride for Oskars Harumpf, he joins us now; Media: Oskars, can you hear us? Harumpf: Hello? Hey, yes I can hear you, thanks for having me (adjusts earpiece). Media: Oskars it's been quite a ride for you since you came over from Denmark, did you ever imagine you'd find this much success here? Harumpf: It's really been an amazing ride and I've been very blessed. I wasn't even sure I'd make it in this league and then to have won the cup and had everything else happen, it's really been something special. I've enjoyed it tremendously. Media: Before we talk about the upcoming season in Helsinki, tell us how you felt winning the cup and the Oates Trophy this past season in Bratislava. Harumpf: Man it was a lot of fun. We had a great group of guys there and we really put together an awesome season. Coming back from down 0-2 in the finals to win 4 in a row is an experience I will never forget. I had a great time and learned a lot. The Oates trophy was a nice bonus at the end of the year and it's cool to have my name in the top 5 of all time, but I owe a lot to my teammates. Without them I wouldn't have been able to win anything. Media: Yeah one of your wingers Sachimo Zoidberg had an exceptional season. Some say it was mainly because of you, do you think that's true? Harumpf: (laughs) no I don't think so, he's a great player and has a wicked shot, we defiintely had great chemistry out there, but I think he would have still scored a lot of goals if he wasn't on my wing. Probably not AS many, but still quite a few (winks). Media: How about Scandinavia, how did it feel to make that team and go to the finals? Harumpf: It was a cool experience and an honor for sure. I never expected to make it and didn't even know I did until my GM in Helsinki sent me a text (laughs). It was fun to get to know all those guys and we had an awesome run. I look forward to hopefully playing with them again in the future. Media: Now how about Helsinki, you were just named Assistant Captain as a rookie, how does that make you feel? Harumpf: Incredible. What an honor. I mean I'm really grateful to management and my new teammates for showing confidence in me. They've really made me feel at home and knowing they see that kind of potential in me is just going to make me work that much harder. I can't wait to get going. Media: What do you expect from your rookie season in the VHL? Any idea who you'll be playing with? Harumpf: I just want to come in and help the team win, hopefully set up some goals and not make too many mistakes out there. Winning and making the post-season is my #1 goal. As for lines, I was told I'd be playing 2nd line, center and sometimes wing with James Faraday and Tyson Stokes. Both are incredible players and I can't wait to get on the ice with them. Should be a lot of fun. Media: Nice. Do you think you have a shot at rookie of the year with guys like Zoidberg, 3Moons and Klose also making the jump to the VHL this season? Harumpf: I'm not too worried about it. I played with Zoidberg and 3Moons last season, both are great players, I taught them a few things so yeah they probably have a good shot at it. Klose I don't know too well, but I heard he's pretty good. I'm sure they'll be a few other names in the mix also. I'll be happy to just be considered. Media: Well we think you have a great shot at it Harumpf, best of luck in Helsinki this season and in your career. Harumpf: Thanks a lot guys, have a good one.

Helsinki Titans rookie playmaking center Oskars Harumpf had the honor of being named Assistant Captain by his new team on Sunday. Harumpf never expected to be looked to as a leader in his rookie season but is grateful that the organization saw something special in him. Harumpf helped lead Bratislava to a Founder's cup last season and was also instrumental in Scandinavia's recent run to the World Cup Finals. The little bulbous bowling ball of a man has really been fortunate to be on some great teams. Is it just luck or does Harumpf bring something special to the ice? I guess we'll find out this season in Helsinki as he'll try to help the Titans to the finals, making it his 3rd consecutive trip to a finals. Hey, Harumpf might be a good luck charm who knows, lol, he's about the same height as a leprechaun so you can never be sure what he has up his sleeve. One thing is for sure though, Harumpf is excited to take on the role of Assistant Captain for Helsinki and it's truly a great honor. He will continue to work hard and looks forward to his rookie season.

Hi, I'm a first time question asker, Thoughts on going up against Harumpf, Zoidberg and 3Moons for rookie of the year in S41? How many goals would Klose have scored if he had been on Harumpf's wing last season? (Zoidberg was my winger). Are you going play on Jody 3Moons wing this season? How will you handle his big personality? Does any part of you wish you could play on Harumpf's wing?

WOW! I am honored to be named Assistant Captain in my rookie season. Truly a great feeling. Thanks very much, I will not let you guys down. :hel:

I'm honored to have won the Oates Trophy! Thanks very much. Congrats to all the other winners! Zoidberg, you owe Harumpf a beer for all those goals he set you up for.

Bratislava Watchmen - S40 Founder's Cup Champions! Watchmen players storm goalie Jax Barnstormer after winning the cup last week. The Bratislava Watchmen are the Season 40 VHLM Champions! They came back from a 2-0 series deficit against the Saskatoon Wild and won 4 games in a row to win the Founder's Cup 4 games to 2. What makes this remarkable is they won four 1 goal games in a row, which is a testament to not only how close this series was, but their focus as a team. They were able to get the lead and hold it against a high scoring Wild team. Their top players were exceptional and their goalie played great when needed. Everyone on the team brought their game to a higher level and this was a true team effort from top to bottom. Even a clutch managerial decision came into play by their GM Kitras, which turned out to be the difference in the series. Finding themselves down 2-0 to Saskatoon, the Watchmenneeded a boost and this is when GM Kitras put the 3 best players in the VHLM together on the same line. Harumpf, Zoidberg and 3Moons. 2 elite goal scorers in Zoidberg and 3Moons with stubby puck wizard Harumpf in the middle. This trio put up a combined 14 points in the final 4 games of the series, helping Bratislava win the championship. Defenseman Wesley Mathews also had a tremendous series and led all defenseman in scoring with 20 points in the post season. Every Bratislava player had a huge role in this championship. Schneider, Caprivi, Shock and DeRossi played great, while Grr, Strauss, Pettyfer, Superbman, Gigga-bijou and Greusinho also chipped in. It was truly a team effort and all Watchmen players should be proud of their performance. Zoidberg, Harumpf, 3Moons and Mathews celebrate a goal in game 6. This cup was the culmination of an exceptional season for our favorite 5'5" 250 pound player. Oskars Harumpf defied the odds and proved he can be not only an effective player, but an elite player in this league. His 24 playoff points in 17 games along with a +18 rating showed he can be counted on on the biggest stage and when the game is on the line. This season was a big statement season from Harumpf as he put his name on the map and became a superstar. His 164 point regular season and 130 assists will not be forgotten and will go down as one of the best seasons by a playmaking center in VHLM history. The Founder's cup is the icing on the cake for Harumpf and he really enjoyed coming into his own with such a great group of players in Bratislava. His chemistry with linemate Sachimo Zoidberg was something to behold and was a true pleasure to watch. Oskars Harumpf now graduates to the VHL's Helsinki Titans where he will once again face an uphill climb as one of the shortest players in the league, but we have a feeling he'll defy the odds there as well, while carving out a nice place for himself among the VHL elite before it's all said and done. 500+ Words.

must have been from me.

Hey, happy to be part of the team!

Harumpf is honored to be selected to Team Scandanavia.

5'5" 250 pound Oskars Harumpf just won the Founders Cup with the Bratislava Watchmen in the VHLM. When he lifted the cup over his head, it was still below everyone else's head! It matters not though, as Harumpf is a champion and quite possibly the shortest champion in VHLM history. Definitely the shortest and fattest. It's doubtful anyone wih the dimensions of 5'5" 250 pounds has won it before. Just another amazing accomplishment by Harumpf this season. It was truly a joy to win the cup with his Bratislava teammates. There's too many to name, but he made some great friend this season and really enjoyed himself. After winning the Oates Trophy for Most Assists in the league, Harumpf will take his game to the Titans next year, in hopes of having a similar impact in the VHL and he did in the VHLM. Thanks for everyone who made his time in the minors enjoyable and best of luck to everyone in their careers.

Thanks Saskatoon for a great series! Way to go Bratislava!!!
-
Oskars Harumpf finds himself playing in the VHLM Championship against his former team the Saskatoon Wild. Harumpf was a waiver wire addition by Saskatoon mid-way through last season and enjoyed his time there tremendously. He bled Saskatoon blood all last season and made some great friends on the team. However, he was taken by Bratislava in the Dispersal draft and we all know what he's done for them since joining the team this season. Harumpf is a Bratislava Watchmen through and through and will do whatever it takes to help them hoist the cup this season. He welcomes the challenge of facing his old team and while he respect them greatly, he will not let up in this series. Harumpf wants to win the cup for his new teammates, not watch his old teammates celebrate. This should be an exciting series for Harumpf and it's an interesting story line.

Awesome graphic! Thanks for showing confidence in Harumpf, looking forward to helping the Titans any way I can next season.

Claimed:Bratislava vs Oslo. Games 1-4 - [GRADED 6/6]
Harumpf posted a topic in Archived Career Tasks
European Conference Finals Games 1-4. Vs. The entire VHLM knew when these 2 powerhouses met it would be an excellent series and through 4 games it has not disappointed. Every game has been a close hard fought battle. Bratislava currently leads the series 3-1 and are on the brink of eliminating Oslo, but we have a feeling this series is not yet over as the Storm will clearly not go quietly. Let's take a look at the first 4 games and recap what go us to this point. Game 1: Bratislava Wins 3-2 in Overtime. An incredible first match up with Bratislava coming out firing on all cylinders. They threw 14 shots on Oslo's goalie Niklaus Mikaelson in the first period, but he was able to turn them all aside. Oslo only managed 6 shots in the period but made the most of their chances and were able to slip one past Watchmen goalie Jax Barnstormer. Olso gets the first goal of the series. The second period was similar to the first with Bratislava outshooting Oslo 12-1, but Oslo got another goal on their only shot of the period! Bratislava notched a goal later in the period and it would go to the 3rd 2-1 in favor of Oslo. 3rd period would see Jody 3Moons score a clutch goal to tie the game and send it to overtime. Then it was scoring machine Sachimo Zoidberg burying a one time from Harumpf to put Oslo away! What a game. Bratislava outshot Oslo 32-16 in this one. Game 2: Oslo Wins 3-2. The Watchmen came out flying again in this one, outshooting the Storm 31-9 through 2 periods, but again Mikaelson kept them in it with some key saves and Bratislava only held a 2-1 lead despite dominating the play through 2 periods. 3rd Period was a different story as Oslo picked up their game, they scored 2 powerplay goals on 10 shots and held Bratislava to just 6 shots in the period. Big game for Oslo sniper Christoph Klose as he had 2 goals in the game. Solid defensive effort by Oslo in this one and they made the most of their chances. Series tied 1-1. Game 3: Bratislava Wins 4-2. Much closer game in terms of shots in this one as the difference was only 22-19 in favor of Bratislava for the game. Play was back and forth but Bratislava managed to put 4 past Mikaelson on just 22 shots, proving he was in fact human. Watchmen winger Gifford Shock had a big game scoring 2 goals as he looked strong on a line with 3Moons and De Rossi. The rubber-match could have gone either way, but in this case it was Bratislava getting the lead in the series 2-1. Game 4: Bratislava Wins 3-2. Another close game and the 3rd 1 goal game of the series, proving how well matched these teams are. Bratislava's offensive firepower was held in check for the 2nd game in a row, as Oslo only allowed them to fire 24 shots on net, but as well as Oslo played defensively, Bratislava played even better, holding Oslo to just 12 shots in the game. Sachimo Zoidberg was able to get loose this game and pot 2 goals after some challenges from his teammates as he responded well. The Watchmen were able to take the lead in the series 3-1 and now have the Storm on the brink of elimination. --- Game 5 will be a big match up as it's clear these games can go either way. Oslo is a proud team and will no doubt be playing hard in an elimination game. They'll have to limit Bratislava's chances and try and shut down their plethora of scoring talent. Jax Barnstormer will need to be good in net in order to get Bratislava a win and Oslo goalie Mikaelson will have to stand on his head if Oslo has any chance of winning 3 games in a row. It should be fun to watch this one play out. 650+ Words. Media Spot for Week of Nov. 17-23rd. -

The Bratislava Watchmen made short work of the Bern Royals in round 1, beating them 4-1 and outscoring them 26-9 in the 5 game series. Harumpf and Zoidberg were back at it, putting up a combined 28 points in the series and defenseman Wes Mathews was also a stand out putting up 12 points of his own from the blue line. Jax Barnstormer played well in net finishing with a 2.01 GAA and .909 Save % including 1 shutout. Secondary scoring came from 3Moons, Shock and De Rossi while Schneider and Caprivi chipped in from the blue line. Everyone had a good series for Bratislava and they're playing well headed into the big match up vs Oslo. That should be a great series as they battle for the right to go to the finals and play for the cup. Exciting times in the VHLM.

Oskars Harumpf Forward Assists Points

BIG Season for Little Bratislavan Bowling Ball 5'5" Oskars Harumpf battles for position against bigger competition, something he excelled at all season. When looking at Oskars Harumpf you'd never imagine this little bowling ball of a player 5'5" 250 pounds could have done what he did this season in the VHLM. He proved to everyone that height has absolutely nothing to do with how good of a hockey player you are. Harumpf dominated the VHLM this season and helped Bratislava not only make the playoffs but enter the post-season as the favorite to win the cup. Let's take a look at Harumpf's remarkable regular season as we discuss his place in VHLM history. Final Stat Line: Games: 72 Goals: 34 Assists: 130 * Points: 146 Plus/Minus : +103 Hits: 143 Pims: 42 Shots: 265 Powerplay Pts: 34 Face Off %: 63.85 Avg Mins/Game: 26.04 *5th Most Assists in VHLM History. Harumpf finished 3rd overall in league scoring and 1st in scoring among centers. He was 3rd in Points per 20 Minutes with a mark of 1.75. He also finished 3rd in rookie scoring and of course was 1st in Assists. It was a truly remarkable season for the diminutive playmaker. I think it's safe to say Oskars Harumpf probably set quite a few records as the shortest player to ever achieve some of the above numbers. Surely the Assists total which is 5th all time among normal sized players. It's possible his 143 hits has never been achieved by someone standing just 5'5" tall. His point total of 146 is also most likely a record for someone his size and his plus/minus has to be a record of some sort. +103 is a ridiculous number and when you consider his linemate Sachimo Zoidberg finished with a +108, it really shows you how dominant of a season this was for that dynamic duo. However, Harumpf's 130 assists are what really stands out this season. Reaching 130 Assists has only been done 4 other times in 40 VHLM seasons. Harumpf is just the 5th player to do it. He finished only 1 assists behind Cedrick Pollack (S18) and just 8 behind the #3 spot held by Seth Plaut (S26). Oskars Harumpf's playmaking ability is now well documented as he holds a place in the VHLM record book for as one of the top 5 playmakers every to lace up the skates. Most Assists in VHLM History: #1: Adam Schultz (S20) - 145 #2: David Janujaz (S37) - 140 #3: Seth Plaut (S26) - 139 #4: Cedrick Pollack (S18) 131 #5: Oskars Harumpf (S40) 130 Harumpf celebrates his 130th Assist with Zoidberg. Harumpf's regular season will go down in history as one of the best ever by a playmaking center in the VHLM. His point totals speak for themselves but his incredible two way game and physical play really cement him as a special talent. It's not often you see playmaking centers finish with 143 hits and a +103 rating. His ability to play sound defensively and throw the body at this young of an age bode well for his future in the league. With some work in checking and strength he could become even more dominant at the next level. To think Harumpf put up this kind of season with literally no practice hours into strength or checking has his VHL GM drooling over his potential as an all around point producing center for years to come. Harumpf will now set his sights on winning the VHLM Championship and with the talent in Bratislava he has a great chance to be one of the players hoisting the cup in a few weeks. The Watchmen are loaded with superstars and have tremendous depth. Oskars Harumpf is thrilled to be part of such a special group of players and is genuinely exciting to build on his great regular season with a long post-season run. Watch out for the Bratislavan Bowling Ball in the playoffs. 650 Words.

Little Oskars Harumpf turned in an aweseome season for Bratislava this year, putting up and incredible 164 points! Not bad for a 5'5" 250 pounder. Harumpf scored 34 goals and an astounding 130 assists including 34 powerplay points. He won the Assists title and now holds a top 5 spot in all-time VHLM Assists with his 130 marker. He finished #1 in Scoring among Centers and #3 overall in the league. Possibly the most impressive though is his +103 rating. That's right, positive 103. Both him and his linemate Zoidberg finished over +100 and knobody else was even close. I'm not sure what the record is for +/- but I'm guessing these 2 are close to it. It'd be interesting to find that out. After turning in this amazing statistical season, Harumpf now turns his sights on the playoffs and trying to win a cup with Bratislava. They have a loaded team and many are picking them as favorite for the cup, but they have to deliver on the ice. As always anything can happen in the playoffs, but things are looking good for Bratislava.
