i’ve never written anything like this in my time in the league. i’m usually writing little .com articles in character, or doing graphics, or having a laugh with my good friends on 3ppao. i guess there just hasn’t been much that i would consider worthy of blabbing on about. however, as the season gets closer and closer to starting again, i find myself reflecting a little bit. malmo’s championship run this past season was what dreams are made of. if you had asked me before the season started what my expectations were, i would have said “i’d like to make the playoffs without the need for a wildcard round”. boy, was i blown out of the water. things started off well, and after a slight dip in performance, which i addressed with a trade for @fromtheinside we never looked back. we just kept winning and the team grew more and more confident as the wins piled up. seeing the locker room transform from what it was in seasons prior, (which i’m sure any gm of a team not expected to do well knows exactly what that’s like) into what felt like one of the best team environments i’ve been a part of, it was amazing to see. that run culminated in a tremendous victory cup, which we won quite handedly, and ultimately a continental cup that made things oh so much sweeter. the playoffs had me way more anxious than i care to admit! a huge shoutout to @GustavMattias, @dlamb, and @Banackock for building outstanding teams that nearly pushed us over the edge to our demise. i actually couldn’t believe that we had managed to pull off the victory. it was not something i had ever pictured for malmo so soon into my tenure. that brings me to now. we’re on the other side of all of that, and i feel extremely satisfied with the work i’ve done in such a short time. i can’t take full credit, @FrostBeard set everything in motion way back before i even took control of the team. however, finding some amazing players in the draft, at the positions that we had, is something that i am extremely proud of. i’ve been blessed with not only amazing players, but amazing people too. building a team of people that motivate each other to be their best is probably what i love the most about this, and i couldn’t be happier with the squad that i have today. having said all that, i think this ship has run its course. i got into gming with the ultimate goal of winning a cup. that’s all. i never wanted to be hall of fame worthy, or to be remembered by everyone as one of the greatest of all time. i’m sure every person who has aspired to be a gm can relate. maybe you dreamed of more cups and more glory, but everyone just wants to win! i wanted to make my mark, prove to myself that i could do it, and hopefully make a positive impact on the players i acquired to do that with, and i did it. so i’m sitting here wondering, what more is there for me here. or better yet, what more can i contribute to the league and my team as a gm? and i’m struggling to come up with an answer. i’m not saying flat out that i’m done just yet, but the time seems right. it feels unfair for me to stay in a position where i won’t be fully committed. and to be taking that opportunity away from one of the deserving up and coming gms just doesn’t sit well with me. day in, day out i see the passion and drive that the other gms bring. not only about their teams, but also about the league as a whole. maybe i’m a little burnt out. i’ve been going pretty steady at this for the better part of a year and a half, and i’m sure many of you can relate, it starts to take a toll on you eventually. i’m not too keen on running myself into the ground and making things worse than they really need to be. i still enjoy building players, and i cherish the small community i’ve surrounded myself with. like i said, this is not a resignation just yet, but the thought is on my mind. i thought it would be beneficial to get these thoughts down and maybe generate some discussion on things i’ve touched on. anyways, that’s about it. thanks for taking the time out of your day to get a glimpse at my inner monologue.

Harkat Mulds Height: 3'8" Weight: 140 lb. Age: Unkown Position: C Harkat Mulds is a unique prospect, being that he is roughly the size of a small child. However, after signing as a waiver in Yukon to play in the VHLM this past season, he has proven he has all the talent necessary to compete. He didn't light the league up, only putting up 7 points in 9 games, but that is very respectable for someone diving head first into a league with much more developed talent than himself. Considering Yukon ended up missing the playoffs and with a lottery pick, Mulds was pleased to have put up the numbers that he did. He has an elite scoring ability, and is defensively sound in his own end, which enabled him to really help out exactly where Yukon needed. There is work needed on his faceoff ability, but Mulds insists that he has a plan and to just trust the process. Following the VHLM season, Harkat elected to compete in the brand new Juniors Showcase Tournament, which was held to accommodate a considerable amount of waivers that were not able to sign with teams in the playoffs. With the talent dropping off, Harkat was touted to be one of the best prospects in the tournament, and he lived up to that potential. As of now, Harkat's team is en route to the Finals of the tournament and he has helped lead the way with an impressive 17 points in 9 games. That's good enough for the 6th highest point total in the tournament and he leads the Steel in points and goals. Mulds is making sure that he proves size isn't everything. The ultimate goal for Mulds is to eventually be a top player in the VHL, and he is doing everything he can to make it there as soon as possible. He is destined for another season in the VHLM, where he was recently drafted by the Yukon Rush. He is determined to repay the faith that management has shown in him by using their earliest pick to select him, and is aiming to be top scorer in the league. As for the VHLE, Harkat isn't very keen on playing in the brand new league, insisting that he wants to spend as much time as possible in the VHL, and become one of the first players to play 9 entire seasons in the majors. He knows he has what it takes to be a steady contributor over the course of his career and is doing everything possible to make that happen.

Harkat Mulds - Not So Small After All Harkat Mulds is not your typical hockey player. He actually only measures in at an astonishing 3'8", but for registration and legal purposes he was forced to declare at 5'0". When he's not in hockey gear, he can be seen wearing a hooded robe that conceals most of his features. All you are able to see are his bright green eyes, grey stitched up skin, and jagged toothed smile. The air in the Earth's atmosphere is poisonous to him, requiring him to wear a surgical mask at all times. Despite his small stature and otherwise non-threatening appearance, Harkat has unbelievable strength for a person his size. Mulds comes from a race of people created by souls that are given a second chance at life. Most of his kind don't even have tongues, meaning they are unable to speak, but Mulds was made with one. Each person created is given a goal they have to fulfill, and if they are able to do that, they will be given all their memories back from their old life, and they are free to carry on as they choose. That's what brings us here, to present day, where Harkat Mulds is a budding hockey superstar ready to take the league by storm. He originally discovered the game by complete chance. He was supposed to be working a freak show, but he got lost trying to locate the pretty much impossible to find club and somehow ended up in the delivery bay of the local arena. He managed to wander his way in to the stands and was captivated by the speed and skill that the hockey players he was watching possessed. He wanted to so badly play the game, and luckily for him, his small size allowed him to purchase much cheaper kids equipment! When he first tried to sign up for a league, he was laughed away because nobody believed a person his size could not be a child. He was frequently picked on by teammates for his small size, but he remained calm at all times, brushing everything off. He let his play on the ice do the talking. Harkat may be small, but he is way stronger than the average adult, which almost completely negates his height disadvantage. He quickly became the talk of the league and has meteorically risen to the top of most draft boards. He has finally declared himself eligible for the Season 80 VHL draft, and has accepted an initial free agent contract from the Yukon Rush.
