kesytamm reacted to Beaviss in VHL / SBA Reaffiliation
    Hello There,

As some of you may remember we used to be PT affiliated with the SBA ( Simulation Basketball Association ). After some discussions regarding affiliation and what that might look like, I'm pleased to announce that we have come to an agreement with the SBA. We are now going to re-introduce our PT affiliation between our two leagues. What this means is that when you complete a Point Task (Graphic, Media Spot, Podcast) you may claim it for 6 TPE in all three leagues ( VHL, EFL, SBA ). This reduces the load on the average user regarding burn out, resulting in being able to participate in all three leagues without having to complete tasks in all three.

    Fine Print:
    - You can now use SBA Point Tasks as Affiliate PT's here, and vice versa. This now means that once again, any PT in the EFL, SBA, or VHL is applicable as an Affiliate PT in all three leagues.
    - You may once again earn a second Affiliate Check TPE in the VHL, using affiliate Articles (Affiliate Check Rules).
    - Free Weeks earned via Seasonal Donations/Premium will be honored cross-league. Note: individual free weeks bought in the SBA will not be honored.
    - Theme Weeks may be exchanged cross-league, once per season, during the week each league hosts theirs
    - All Auto-12 claims will once again be in effect cross-league.

Effective immediately, you can now claim PT's in the SBA. You can find info about their league Here

    Sincerely,
    @Commissioner Team

    1. We have a plethora (damn look at that word) of young talent thanks to his recruiting. We are a very active group so far, and I think we'll surprise some people.

    3. I like playing video games, reading, and eating. Eating is probably my favorite activity lowkey though.

    4. Right now, I can't complain about where we are. Our schedule was TOUGH to open up this season, but after playing the defending champions 3 times in 6 games, we have been winning a lot of games.

    5. God damn it this is targeted you fucker

kesytamm reacted to NickSunderbruch in Nicholas Sunderbruch Rookie Profile
    Hometown: Tampa Florida
    Age: 18
    Jersey: 21
Nicholas Sunderbruch is a young player who played for the Flint Bulldogs in Flint Michigan, boasting 45 goals and 55 assists in his last year with the team. Making him a top prospect for the VHLM and a possible elite goal scorer. Nicholas might be a sniper but isn't afraid to drop the gloves with anyone, along with his 100 point senior season he put up 60 penalty minutes. Most of which consisted of fights. Nicholas favors a crash the net play style, and plays a 200 ft game, while he may be a sniper he also fits in as a two way forward. Making him an excellent piece for many teams, and a great future star. Nicholas was signed to the Las Vegas Ace's, and has yet to play his first game but shows much potential. Some would say to keep a look out on a player like this, others think he's a risky move. However you look at it, there is high hopes for this player with much to prove.

kesytamm reacted to NickSunderbruch in Sunderbruch's disappointing first two games
After some speculation of whether Nicholas Sunderbruch would turn out to be a big free agent signing by the Las Vegas Ace's, Nicholas has not shown us what GM Spartan saw in him.
However the season is still young and with more development he could turn to be a great asset and a key piece of the team. We asked Nicholas about his performance and this is how the exchange went:
Interviewer: Nicholas, how do you feel about  your first two games in the VHLM?
Nicholas: Well it's definitely tougher than High School hockey that''s for sure, but it's a great experience playing alongside my team.
Interviewer: What do you have to say to the critics saying that you're not good enough for this league?
Nicholas: I'd say that they're dead wrong, we're only four games into the season and I've played two. I may not have performed the way that I would have liked but that's not a reason to count me out yet. I just gotta hit the ice and train harder than ever to prove the critics wrong. Spartan will not regret signing me as a free agent, I'm thankful he gave me a chance and I want to make him proud.

Nicholas put up zero points and only one shot in his first two games as an Ace, with a -1 rating so far. However Nicholas seems optimistic about his future in this league and in the draft. Nicholas was being talked about as being a possible top scorer. He's only played two games and not shown much, however I'm optimistic in his growth and future in this league. Nicholas seems optimistic about it as well, we'll definitely keep an eye out on him this season.

When I was 13 I saw my father again for the first time since I was 7. I didn't know what to think, I mean on one hand I'd be seeing my dad again, on the other I didn't know what to think of him. The man had been in prison for years so I was nervous he wouldn't be the same. I got on my Southwest airlines plane from Tampa Florida to Birmingham Alabama, I spent two hours speaking to the lady sitting next to me. I told her about the situation, she really felt for me she told me that no matter what happened that things tend to work out in the end. I wish I remembered her name, she was super nice to me and that's all I really needed right then. I got off the plane and grabbed my luggage and started looking around for my dad, I eventually found him. I spotted him by his short stature and familiar red hair, I gave him a hug and he hugged back. I was 13 but I was already taller than my old man, I let him know that and he laughed. He hadn't changed, my father wasn't a violent or angry man like a lot of people had told me. He was still the same loving father he had always been, we went back to his home and I spent the summer with him. Meeting new friends, seeing old ones I hadn't seen in years. Going camping, hunting, fishing, just things I can't do here in the city. I don't know if this is one of the memories you were asking about, but it's one that means a lot to me. Happy 13th birthday VHL, here's to many more.

kesytamm reacted to NickSunderbruch in VHLM week 2 power rankings
To kick this power ranking list off at number one, we have The Miami Marauders in first place in the league with an impressive record of 8-0-1. A nearly perfect record, their only OT loss being to the Minnesota Storm in a tight 3-2 game.I have the Miami Marauders to stay in first place for a large portion of this season. With key players such as, Andre Lebastard, Patrick Laine, and goaltender Bacon, it's no wonder the Marauders have had such a dominating first week of play. With 9 players over 200 tpe and many more barely trailing that amount, their a very deep star powered team. I have no doubts that there's only one possible team that can take their place on this list.
Coming in second on this power ranking list we have The Houston Bulls, with a heavy record of 8-1-0, just trailing Miami by 1 point, I have Houston possibly taking the number one spot in a week or so, depending on unknown factors of course. Houston's only loss so far this season has come from the Las Vegas Ace's, A team that many would only label as a hopeful team and middle of the pack at best. They beat Houston in regulation, 4-3, but don't let this one loss fool you. This Houston team has been incredibly dominate all year long and will most likely to continue to dominate. Their top players include, Riley Knight Gee, Aloe Dear, and goaltender Drew Minot.
This top 5 list wouldn't be any god without another team tied for second place, The Minnesota Storm. A team that like Houston is in second place with a 8-1-0 record and a favorable team to stay at the top of the pack for sure. The Storm have been having just a spectacular season so far, dominating their competition for the most part. Even beating the Miami Marauders in OT. What ever you might have to say about this team, it surely is stacked top heavy with excellent talents such as, jer Lefebvre, Shawn Glade III, and Calvin Harvey between the pipes. They have enough depth to survive in this league, and our top 5 list. If there's one team to look forward to watching, it's the Storm.
Here in fourth place on our list we have, The Ottawa Lynx with a 7-2-1 record on the season. Absolutely a top 5 caliber team, however I don't see this team moving to first place any time soon. I see Ottawa staying in the top 5 for most of this season, but without the depth that they need they may as well kiss first place goodbye. Ottawa is a well rounded team, however they only have 3 players above 200 tpe, if anyone on this top five list might not make it back in a few weeks I'd put my money here. As other teams start to show more promise with player development I don't see Ottawa rising in these power rankings, however their top players are still very talented in their own rights and should be respected. These players include, Alec Volchenkov, Arthur Dayne, and on the blue line, Jiggly Gumballs. Ottawa is a team to watch, with much to prove and everything to lose.
Here for our final spot on my top 5 power rankings I'm going to pick an unprecedented team who may not be 5th in the standings but may very well move up soon. Here at 5th place I have San Diego in my 5th spot. I know they're technically tied for 5th but hear me out. What Saskatoon has, San Diego has but better. San Diego not only plays well against tough opponents but they're also good at beating middle of the pack to lower teams who may usually surprise top teams and steal a game. However you slice it, San Diego is just a great team to watch this year. And has been the bane of another hopeful team rearing to get into this list, the Ace's. The Marlins have great talent such as, John Merrick, Roadkill Steve, and Doug Dimmadome. I feel as though this team will shock the VHLM this year, and maybe possibly kick butt in the playoffs.
So thats enough of this weeks power rankings with Nick, I'll see you all next week with another power ranking article. Until then, stay minty and stay fresh.

SITR: Interview with Las Vegas Aces' GM Spartan

Thanks for tuning into VHL Network, Stick In The Rink! Last week we featured S73 VHLM prospect Rhynex Entertainment, and now this week we have a special guest. Please welcome @Spartan Spartan! GM of the Las Vegas Aces, and the person who found Rhynex Entertainment!  (round of applause, cheering, and a few Woops could be heard coming from the background audience)

Host:  Welcome Spartan! Thanks for coming in today!

Spartan: Thank you! The pleasures all mine.

Host: I know it must be quite busy with the start of a new season, so we'll get straight into the interview.

    Spartan: Thanks!

Host: You had a huge hull out of the most recent draft, picking up ten players, how do you feel you did? And why do you feel that way? Do you think you could have done better?

Spartan: I'm pretty excited about our draft. Our first two picks are proven VHL vets, and they're already great mentors for the young talent we brought in. Speaking of the young talent, we picked up some engaged and energetic players who are excited about the league, and developing in Vegas. I don't know what else we could have done better, and that's not really something I dwell on. The past is the past, and as a mid-season hire, I didn't have much time to change the cards dealt to me. Just made the best out of what I had, and it turned into a great class!

Host: Who do you feel will be the Rookie of the Year for S73 VHLM? How about the sleepers? Who's going to shock the league?

Spartan: I'd love to think that Fonzi's player, Onde Sandstorm has a pretty good shot at the award. He's coming in at one of the highest TPE levels in his draft class, and has a good cast around him. I think some sleepers could be Waters and Entertainment on LVA, also because they have some really good potential and again, a good cast of wingers around them. I think that Houston is going to come out a lot stronger than people expect. They got some good recreates in the draft and in the FA period, so they'll accumulate TPE really quickly.

Host: Now that you have your team and gone through training camp, where do you see Las Vegas Aces mid-season? At the end of the season?

Spartan: I don't really have much to speculate about how we'll look in the future, as our goal is always on the next two games. We take it day by day, and try to develop our players as much as possible. Regardless of our situation midseason or at the end of the season, we're going to put in 100% of our energy and commitment to the team and the players on this team.

Host: You seem to have high hopes for the youngster Rhynex Entertainment, even plotting the "A" on his jersey before even his first game! What caught your eye about his performance?

Spartan: I think that he showed up ready to work and had the energy to blow this league away. He came in with the right attitude even though he was traded to the team, which was phenomenal for a player that young. From experience, those are the kinds of people you want in your locker room, and vocal in there as well. The "A" is a big responsibility, but he'll be working with Sandstorm and Reynolds, so I'm confident he'll blow our expectation away!

Host: The recent line ups you've submitted was quite the surprise to many! It appears you're lining up two Left Wings in Chris Reynolds and Kasey Tamm with Center Rhynex Entertainment, and two Right Wings in Onde Sandstrom and Gary Rush with Center Tim Waters. What made you choose to have such line combinations , as opposed to the more traditional Left Wing, Center, Right Wing combination?

Spartan: One of the things I admired most about the wingers on this team is their flexibility and adaptability. Rush and Sandstorm had some time together last season, so I wanted to keep them together to keep that chemistry on a team that featured mostly new faces in the skater group. Reynolds is a natural LW, but Tamm has that flexibility teams love.

Host: After the first two games of the season, Las Vegas finished with a Win and a Loss. What surprised you in these two games?

Spartan: I think the start was mildly surprising as a whole. Saskatoon are the defending champions, but it was a pretty tight game in a 4-3 loss. San Diego was also a team many expected to be contenders, but we had a massive 6-2 win in there. Most surprising were the performances of the young centers, Entertainment and Waters, as they each notched multiple points across both games, proving the talent they've flashed in the past. Considering the center situation last year was unstable and fluctuated a bit due to the late addition of Kevin King and a slump from Remy Moreau, this is a really nice change of pace. Waters and Entertainment are phenomenal 1-2 punches, and they're just getting started.

Host: I know, it is very early in the season, but how often do you suspect you will be changing up the line ups?

Spartan: It will really depend on how games go. When I managed Team Canada in the S72 WJC, I changed up lines between every game. I typically try not to mess with the lines too much as long as they're working, but there's always times that Twists and I will be chatting and be like, "oh, should we try changing so and so around in the lineup, they could pair really well with this player because of their skillsets." We're always trying to improve as management, but we don't try to change things that don't need to be changed.

Host: Alright! Looks like we are almost out of time. Is there any parting words you want to give to the audience and the fans out there?

Spartan: Just be excited about this team. Vegas went into the S73 draft with lower expectations, and came out with a solid class geared for the future. However, these new additions to the team are a real spark and could lead to some surprises coming out of this city. We embrace the underdog mentality, so just watch the fun we'll have this season as we all grow and learn together!

Host: Thank you for such a wonderful interview Spartan! We hope to have you come on again in the future! Best of luck for the season!
Round of applause of GM Spartan! And that's all the time we have for today. See everyone next time on Stick In The Rink!

kesytamm got a reaction from Spartan in Kasey Tamm: Junior Review
Kasey Tamm grew up in Oslo, Norway, and always had a strong love for hockey. Oslo was a booming hockey city, boasting their own professional club, Tamm's favorite childhood team, Furuset Ishockey. KT was always a natural athlete, and he had already played football, baseball, and basketball before his 13th birthday. Hockey was by far the most competitive sport in the region, and Kasey had only played hockey for fun before high school. His friends all urged him to try out for the high school team, as he was consistently outperforming older players in their pickup games. Tamm agreed, but had no idea the journey that he was about to embark upon.

Tamm had an abundance of natural ability. He was also an extremely smart kid, and had picked up a lot of details of the game just from watching Furuset since birth. Once he started his young high school career and received actual coaching, his abilities started to shine. While he did not get much ice time as a freshman, Tamm was one of two sophomores to play consistent minutes. By the end of that year, KT has solidified his spot as a 1st line wing. His scoring ability was unmatched across the league, and his control of the puck was something to behold. His stick truly seemed to be an extension of his body. His final year of high school, Tamm scored a ridiculous 52 goals to go along with 23 assists, totaling a whopping 75 points. He was by far the best high school player in his area.

But Tamm dreamed bigger. The VHL had always been a dream, but an unrealistic one. As a player that did not play real organized hockey more than five years, Tamm could have been a massive bust. Instead, he put in loads of work, day in and day out. During his final season, he grew as a scorer, but more importantly developed his secondary skills to a much higher level. KT grew as a playmaker, and also a defender. He put in extra hours of time after practices just skating, developing his speed and endurance. As his senior season started to wind down, Tamm had accepted that this would likely be the end of his young career. What he did not expect was to go viral on TSN as well as ESPN after scoring six goals in one game to go with an assist. After his great showing, multiple VHLM GMs started to take notice. He has since moved to the United States, and looks forward to making his mark in the VHL sooner rather than later.

kesytamm reacted to NickSunderbruch in Nicholas Sunderbruch rookie review
Nicholas Sunderbruch is a left winger from Tampa FL, the sunshine state! Despite there not being much ice where he's from Nicholas has had a very successful High school career when he moved to Flint Michigan and played for the Bulldogs. When he was a freshmen he was already outscoring Seniors, and outskating kids who had been skating their whole lives. Nicholas is quick on his feet and plays a lot like a much taller Martin St.Lois, it's hard to really call him just a sniper because he plays a 200 ft two way game as well. Nicholas is a very versatile player who likes playing a crash the net style game, and has the size to work the boards and behind the net very well. Nicholas went unscouted until his Junior year in Highschool when he was found by mistake. Ever since, Nicholas had been receiving calls left and right from scouts.
Nicholas boasted an outstanding 45 goals in his final season as a Bulldog, and a grand 55 assists. There's no question that his scoring is extensive, but what about his defensive play? Well Nicholas is able to play center on the PK very well, taking faceoffs and knocking opponents off the puck. This young man is absolutely not afraid to get physical where it counts (he also has a very mean right hook). Rating Nicholas is tricky though, because some might say he didn't face enough challenges as a bulldog, and only started playing Hockey in high school. Some would say the difficulty bar is a little lower there than in many other schools, especially being an American player. However these concerns are superficial at best, because Nicholas has a slap shot of 98mph, with an accuracy not seen in many years. Nicholas was known to shatter glass in his high school games when he missed the net. I wouldn't want to be on the other side of his slapshot for sure.
What can be said about his locker room chemistry? Nicholas enjoys playing light hearted pranks on his teammates during practice, including putting water in players gloves. Or putting glitter in their helmets. Harmless pranks, that many laugh at. He's also known to buy his line mates dinner after especially good performances. Nicholas says he enjoys playing with people of any background and is always excited to see new faces in the locker room. Nicholas
It's hard to say how we'd rank Nicholas in the upcoming draft, but I'd say he should go early first round to mid first round depending on how he develops in the VHLM. Nicholas has great speed with an excellent slap shot, here's a ranking of his skills in our opinion; slapshot A+, wrist shot A, skating A+, defense A-, physical play B, off awareness A-, def awareness B+, fighting B-
we'd have to give Nicholas a A- overall from what we've seen of him in High school, but we'll see how that all plays out this season and how he develops. Is Nicholas VHL ready? Perhaps. Is Nicholas a star player? Possibly. Is Nicholas a player to be watched? Absolutely. We look forward to his long career in the VHL. And now for my personal opinion of this player; I think he's going to shock the world with his skill, some might not see it yet but I know that he will do great things in this league, and in his future. Until next time, I hope you all have enjoyed this junior review featuring Nicholas Sunderbruch, the next great thing in hockey.

kesytamm reacted to NickSunderbruch in Nicholas Sunderbruch Signed to Las Vegas Aces!
Tonight at around 10pm EST top free agent Nicholas Sunderbruch signed a contract with the Ace's. Few would deny that this is a power move that GM Spartan is making. Some would say signing an unproven prospect this early in the year could be risky, but risk is part of the Vegas lifestyle. When asked about his new contract all Nicholas had to say was, "I'm excited to be playing with this team, the Ace's are a team that some might sleep on however I will not. I'm feeling lucky". Nicholas is a left winger from Tampa Florida, not a place where many people envision a star player to come from. Nicholas moved around a lot, gaining recognition from his time playing with his high school team in Flint Michigan, where he lead his team in scoring putting up an incredible 45 goals and 55 assists. Not much is known about this rookie, but we hope to gain more knowledge of him and his play style from future interviews and his rookie profile. When asked about this signing GM Spartan said "We just acquired and eager winger who has displayed flashes of extremely high skill and potential in his past. We're very excited to have signed Nicholas to the team, and we can't wait to see him on the ice with the rest of his team!" Time will tell how this young star develops, does he become a top line player? Does he become a first round draft pick? Or does he become a bust? Only time can tell, but we will absolutely keep an eye on this young star.
