I'll throw my hat in the ring for this. I'm far too active around here for my own good. I am just getting my first experience with this kind of thing right now as I am general manager of Team USA in the WJC. Would love to get some experience in Las Vegas.

Downey Makes Opinion on WJC ‘Snub’ Clear
Houston, TX – Jeff Downey is one of the top prospects in the upcoming VHL Entry Draft and since being traded to the Houston Bulls he has really started to shine. In 10 games since the trade he has put up 3 goals and 5 assists well outpacing what he was doing while he played for the Mississauga Hounds.
This past week team Canada held their camp for the upcoming World Junior Championships and while he was a favourite to make the team coming in, Downey’s name didn’t make the list on the final day.
‘All I can really say is that I am disappointed. I left it all on the ice for that camp and I feel like it wasn’t appreciated by the general manager. I feel like he just looked at my stats while I was playing for the Hounds and didn’t pay enough attention to how I’ve been playing since I was traded or how I was looking on the ice at camp. I thought for sure I was a top four guy on defense out there. I guess the people above me saw it differently.’
Downey stopped short of slagging any particular players that attended the camp but it is very clear that he is not happy about missing what could be his only shot at playing in the World Juniors.

S67 World Junior Championships USA Roster Selection
Hello everyone!
First off I would like to thank those involved with the World Junior Championship for picking me for general manager of Team USA. I haven't been around for very long and they have trusted me with this responsibility which means a lot to me.
As for the team selection it was a very tough process to narrow it down. Coming off of a gold medal win last year it will definitely be hard to repeat that success but I feel like with this group of players we stand a very good chance. Especially on the defensive side the United States has a very strong crop of young up-and-coming players. Without any further delay this is how the roster will look for our squad.

The Rumours Were True, Captain Downey on the Move
Mississauga, ON – Rumours were circulating this past week that short-time Mississauga Hounds captain Jeff Downey would be on the move. Those were quickly squashed by both management and the player himself but apparently someone was being less than honest.
Downey, who was leading the Hounds in scoring as a defenseman, was moved to the Houston Bulls in exchange for a first and a sixth round pick. He should immediately slot in on the top pairing for the playoff bound Bulls and should have a big impact immediately. Downey plays a two-way game with solid defensive skills and a great breakout pass that should greatly improve the Bulls offense. In 30 games for the Hounds this season Downey had posted 4 goals and 14 assists for 18 points. He was also an abysmal -25.
Downey has had a solid developmental year and is being placed by many scouts in the top five of the upcoming S68 VHL Entry draft. He came into this season as a relative unknown before being picked up in the 4th round by the Hounds. He has flourished under their developmental staff and is currently ranked 5th in the International Scouting Service pre-draft rankings.

For the week ending 8/4...
1. Fill me in on what happened last week, when I wasn't on the site.
2. You can pick any person, real or fictional, to join our team (it doesn't have to be a hockey player). Who do you choose and why?
3. Do you know much about VHL teams at the moment? Who do you hope drafts you next season?
4. Let's say it's eight seasons from now and you're making a second player. Do you have any ideas in particular?
5. Let's also say the league is expanding, and you can put a new team wherever you want. Where do you put it, and what do you name it?
6. Every season, jobs in management open up in the VHLM, whether it's a GM job or an AGM job. If one of these opens up, would you be interested in applying? Any teams in particular you'd like to manage?
1. Well there were a lot less :drunkbird:'s posted in the locker room. We actually won a few games and got some points so that was nice. Also Berocka fought off a player uprising so you should thank him.
2. I'd love someone like Scott Stevens so I could have a hard hitting partner and could form a new version of the bash brothers.
3. I know a decent amount. I'd love to be drafted by Helsinki so I could follow in my grandfathers footsteps. The only issue with that is they don't have first overall so they will need to trade up to get me.
4. I think I would like to be a scoring winger to be honest. Putting up a lot of goals is something I've always wanted to do.
5. The Oregon Trails... duh.
6. 100% Which team it is doesn't really matter to me but I would love to get a job in the VHLM with hopes of moving to the VHL one day.

I plan on just forcing the Oregon Trails into existence and I will automatically be GM for them.
