This is a great graphic! I see no imperfections with the player cutout and you even replaced the shoulder patch with the LA patch. Was a filter placed over the face? It seems like it was almost painted on which fits well with the background. Simple and clean name placement too. Overall this is a great graphic. I can't really find anything wrong with this. Maybe besides just the shoulder patch, put a little logo next to the player name? Otherwise excellent work. 10/10.

    1. Oof. Not good
    2. I think it is too early in the season.
    3. I'd say someone on the first line, so not me.
    4. In my opinion (I'm a little biased) I would pick myself on discord. Toy Story is a great movie.

This is a great graphic. A little bit noisy with the color and text but I applaud the simplicity. It's a bit hard to see the team name. Maybe if you wanted to put a bit more into this you could replace the shoulder logos, but that might be too much. Overall I like this graphic, its very simple yet effective. Great work! 8/10!

youloser1337 got a reaction from Red in Expectations for a new season
    Intro:

Expectations for the next season are at an all time high for Justin Lose. Not only is this a contract year, but with a crowded core this could make or break his spot in the future. There are rumors that he will be placed on the first line after his hard work over the offseason. This will be his ultimate test this season. Also for the Riga Reign, this could be their big breakout season with a surprise trip to the playoffs last season.

    Expectations:

Let’s start with the expectations for Justin Lose. If he wants to keep his first line status, he will need to keep pace with the other first liners. Of course with training camp ending today anything can happen with the lineup. We won’t know the lines until game day. The bare minimum expectations that we are setting for Lose is to beat his goal / point total from last season.

Last season he posted 23 goals and 41 assists for 64 points and a -11. Those numbers weren’t as bad for a rookie campaign. He finished in the top 5 of rookie scoring and came back during the second half of the season. To prove that he is a first liner he should have more than that. With his contract ending and if he wants a big payday he will have to surpass those numbers.

Some realistic expectations would be 30 goals and 50 assists for 80 points. Of course the best outcome would be a positive +/- rating. This would be a very solid showing for Lose. Not the top player in the league numbers, but something to make the league take him seriously.

Exceeding expectations would be 50 goals and 60 assists for 110 points and a solid +/-. This is obviously a stretch goal for Lose and not entirely realistic. This would cement him as one of the top players in the league though. This would tie the Riga’s GM in a tough bind if he puts up these numbers. He would have to lock Lose down to not lose him to free agency. Lose has stated that he would love to bring the cup to Riga.

    Team / Playoffs:

This team now has a great mix of rookie / sophomores and veterans to make a big splash during the season. Personally I don’t see how they miss the playoffs this season. With a season of experience they seem to only get better. The big question is if they make it out of play-ins or make it to the big dance. After losing in the play-in 3-1, you can count on Riga to put up more of a fight if they make it back.

    Conclusion:

Those are some of the expectations for Lose this season and even some for the team itself. Will this be the breakout season that he promised last season during his rookie campaign that never happened? With the season starting soon only time will tell. Will Lose even stay on the first line during the season this time?

Apparently the players in the VHL were given the chance to have a friendly competition and put predictions at the start of the season. Everyone was given a sheet to fill out their picks for each trophy and cup winner. This is all for fun and bragging rights at the end of the season of course. Nothing to be taken too seriously… unless you are Justin Lose and you won your prediction pool versus all of the Riga players on his team. In fact Lose beat every player in the VHL with his predictions in getting 11 correct!

“You know it's a fun little game we all play. The winner gets bragging rights for next season. I didn’t expect to win the predictions to be honest. I’m as shocked as anyone else. Now I have to defend my title this season. I’m sure I won’t go back to back. I’ll give it my best shot though!”

In a twist that no one saw coming, Lose didn’t put himself as the Rookie of the year winner. He instead put Red Lite as the victor, who won the trophy. When I interviewed Lose for a statement about winning the pool I also brought this up.

“Funny story, I actually originally put myself as the winner. I later changed it on the last day of the predictions to Red Lite. Obviously I wanted to hype myself up for the new season and new team. I knew that Red Lite was going to light it up (pun intended) and take it home though. I wanted to be at least in the running which I kind of did by placing 5th in rookie scoring.”

    1. I think we did very well. Can't wait for next season.
    2. Our D-Core is a great mix of old and new. If we can keep the puck out of the net, I think we have a shot at going deep in the playoffs.
    3. I didn't really watch, but usually that doesn't come up until the end of season.
    4. Me obviously.

This is going to be a different article this week. I’m talking about burnout. Right now I’m writing this to get it over with. Next week I have to go back to writing articles again for my media spot. My 4 free weeks is over and I have no ideas anymore. I can’t photoshop to save my life and I’m not making a video. I truly applaud the people who can write two articles every week without getting burnout. It’s also a bummer when you spend all this time writing / doing media spots or articles and then your player does nothing for a week. All that work to lead into nothing is demoralizing. I don’t know if this will count as a .com article since this isn’t really related to the VHL player. It’s more about the person controlling that VHL player. If needed I will take this down and put up something else.

This week was the start of the Season 76 VHL Playoffs. Surprisingly, taking the final spot in the European conference, the Riga Reign made it to the wild card round…. Where they lost the series 1-3. For a team that was filled with rookies and failed to make playoffs last season, this was a huge step in the right direction for the team. This will give the rookies some experience in the playoffs and give them a full season to really develop. For Justin Lose next season will be a blank slate to hopefully build off of.

“Team wise this was a successful season for us. It sucks losing in the wild card round, but it felt great to get some playoff hockey experience in the VHL. As an individual I’m not happy with my performance. This was supposed to be a break-out year for me. I even hyped myself up and failed to live up to those expectations. I’m going to be working with the training staff and coaches to redefine my game and hopefully get into a better place next season.”

Justin Lose hopes to beat the point total that he had this season with the off-season looming. He finished the season with 23 goals and 41 assists for 64 points but with a +/- -11. In the playoffs he only had 3 assists and a +/- -2. The upswing that Lose had in the second half of the season is a bright note to end the season with. We caught Lose training in the early morning with Riga staff and he was running defensive drills. We can already see Lose putting in the effort to be the best player for the Riga Reign.

Sorry for the clickbait, but I just wanted to do a quick little current / future events post. Right now Riga Reign is a playoff spot. With the three new acquisitions, is Lose in the future plans for Riga? Of course Lose only wants the team to win no matter what, but with that trade it seems as if his role on the team is going down. This is all speculation right now. Lose wants to be more than a second liner in his career. So far that is all he is. He was on the second line for all the teams he has been on so far: Mexico City Kings, Philadelphia Reapers and now the Riga Reign. This brings up the future for Lose on the Reign. Lose is locked in with the Reign until Season 78. This is also the case with a bunch of the other rookies on the team. Will there be enough cap space for him / what will the role be if he did re-sign? This would be his first “big boy” contract after signing a rookie contract. We shall see where Lose ends up in Season 78.

Another week has gone by in the VHL and the landscape of the Riga Reign has just been rocked. There was a major trade that brought in new players that include: D - Guy Sasakamoose, D - Oskar Lagesson and F - Ray Sheilds. This is a huge playoff push towards the end of the season. The GM of the Riga Reign don’t seem to be done with trading either. Keep an eye on Riga for a major playoff push at the end here. With the addition of Sheilds, is Lose’s role on the team diminished? A quick look at the team and we see no change in position for Lose. He is unfortunately still on the second line. Although he has found some luck with points in the past few games. Since the trade went through on Wed he has 4 - 5 - 9 with a +/- 4. This is a major improvement since the start of the season. He seems to have finally hit his stride and is making better decisions too. Lets see if Lose can get back into the rookie scoring picture and keep his promise that he made before the season.
