monttu reacted to hylands in Mexico City Kings S75 Captains
The Mexico City Kings are pleased to announce this upcoming season's leadership group, which consists entirely of players that have shown exactly what it means to be a King. Last season was a learning experience for the entire team, myself included. We managed to take a roster with only three players to start the season, and through diligent work on the waiver wire, transformed the Mexico City Kings from basement dwellers to fighting for one of the final playoff spots. Rory and I decided that the team should choose the captains for this season, as we feel we have built a strong group of players who respect each other greatly. Well, the players have spoken, and without further ado I present to you, the Season 75 Mexico City Kings Captains!
Assistant Captain #1 - Markus Emerson Jr. - @Xflexz
Markus has been a staple in the Mexico City Kings locker room for going on three seasons now. He was acquired in Season 73 and has gone on to develop into one of the most highly touted goalie prospects currently in the system. He's constantly hounding us for any possible TPE opportunities and is a driving force in our LR. After a monumental season last year, in which he was nominated for Goaltender of the Season, he is ready to backstop the Kings to a Founder's Cup!
Assistant Captain #2 - Jakob Sosa - @TMGSosa
One of our excellent waiver wire pickups from last season, the Kings were able to select Jakob Sosa at 15th overall in the Dispersal Draft and bring him back home. Sosa has Mexican roots and fully embodies what our team is all about. Always there to make a quick joke, encourage the team, or make me feel bad for not sending in lines, Jakky has hit the ground running in Mexico and fully deserves to wear an A for this season. I'm so excited to see him blossom into a phenomenal VHL member.
Captain - RJ Thatcher - @jhatty8
There's a lot I can say about RJ Thatcher here, so I'll try to keep it short. Hatty joined our team as a waiver signing all the way back in Season 73, before I took over as General Manager. He has shown incredible dedication to the Kings and is an excellent choice to lead this team on and off the ice. He is always present in our LR, and he is one of the best members I have had the pleasure of interacting with. I am confident that Thatcher will have a great career beyond Mexico City and we can only hope that he leaves here with some silverware.
I am incredibly excited for Season 75 in the VHLM. We have unmatched parity across the league with multiple teams bolstering a roster capable of making a cup run. We believe in the squad here in Mexico City and based on how we are looking before the season, great things are on the horizon. This leadership group will be instrumental in making sure we stay focused on our ultimate goal of winning the Founder's Cup. If that's not written in the stars, then we'll just enjoy the ride and have fun while we can.

monttu reacted to Ledge in Joining a promising rebuild in Riga
'Twas the night of the VHL Entry draft, and in the second round, there was a 25% chance that, if you were selected in that round, you would go to the Riga Reign, who had an abominable amount of picks in the draft. Linus Zetterstrom was one of those picks, and he is joining a rebuild that will be surprising if it doesn't yield a championship. Here are some of the talent that Riga drafted:
Cabe McJake, 1st round, 7th overall
Addison McLaren, 1st round, 8th overall
Dolant Fertitta, 1st round, 10th overall
Joe Kelly, 1st round, 12th overall
Sirkants Klamasteris, 1st round, 14th overall
Justin Lose, 2nd round, 26th overall
Linus Zetterstrom, 2nd round, 27th overall
Artair McCloud, 2nd round, 28th overall
Vivek Weiner, 2nd round, 32nd overall
Isau DaMoose, 3rd round, 38th overall
Teppo McBighit, 3rd round, 42nd overall
Andy Nexber, 4th round, 52nd overall
Connor Sim, 4th round, 58th overall
Liam Fischl, 4th round, 59th overall
Nikolas DAndrea, 4th round, 64th overall
Jared Carter, 6th round, 87th overall
Eddie Dams, 6th round, 90th overall
Hi Hello, 6th round, 94th overall
Matthew A Sovick Jr., 7th round, 106th overall
Nineteen picks! Holy crap! Hedgehog pretty much sold his entire team to load up for this deep, deep draft, and it seems to have worked magnificently. McJake and McLaren are two TPE-earning monster first-gens who look like steals even at 7 and 8. Fertitta and Kelly are good, solid guys you can depend on to have a career in the VHL, Klamasteris will be the goalie of the future, Lose, Zetterstrom, McCloud, and Weiner look like potential quality depth picks, DaMoose, McBighit, and Nexber all have massive potential, Sim, Fischl, and DAndrea are long-term fliers who could end up great, Carter and Dams are 6th round fliers, and Hello and Sovick are the backup option for goalies.
Great job, hedgehog, it looks like you got a whole bunch of unique talent in this draft. Watch as this group slowly makes it's way into VHL stardom.

Welcome back again to read Ice and hockey.
The off-season is running hot and now the draft is in the history book. Whole community is almost ready to start the season 75. Both VHL and VHLM teams are getting really strong. Big draft class has made the teams go big and build a teams that can stand even the winter of Siberia.
Ice and hockeys sponsor player Teppo McBighit was drafted to Riga Reign. I had a conversation with Reigns GM @hedgehog337 about their draft.
1. First of all what do you think about the off-season organisation, did you like how it was mane and how was the schedule?
-The draft schedule was a bit tough for me because I'm European. So I had to draft players deep in the night (3-6 AM). But hey, not the first time I'm doing this so this is just a minor inconvenience. The other events are less important for me since my main focus was the draft.
2. Tell something about your 1st overall pick.
-I didn't have the first overall pick. But my first pick was Cabe McJake. The member behind this player was very active in forums and I saw that he's really in it. And this pick was fitting in my plans since my idea to make a team from first-gens. He looks a solid scoring player, something that our organization will appreciate.
3. Did you draft player to that you contacted or did you just have random selections?
-Mostly of them were contacted (first 6 rounds). Then I was just searching for potential steals.
4. You have drafted Teppo Mcbighit, Ice and Hockey's sponsor player. Why did you pick him?
-I think we could use a good ol' physical defenseman which Teppo McBighit will surely be for us. And the member behind this player is also is a steady TPE earner so we will like this pick.
5. Las one. What are your thoughts about the S75 draft class?
-Huge as hell. There was a reason why I made a firesale and collected as much S75 picks as possible.
I got really good answer and was pleased how the Reign had their draf picks really scouted. Now we will only see how far can they go in the next season.

Presents
THE SEASON 75 MOCK ENTRY DRAFT
So it's been a long season for most of us. Many newcomers have joined us since the past draft and it's been a very interesting time when it comes to scouting and draft planning. Let's put things into perspective. There have been traditionally four rounds in the VHL Entry Draft and seven rounds in the VHLM Dispersal Draft. Now there's six rounds and possibly around nice or ten rounds for each draft, respectively. The influx of newcomers has created alot of buzz around the league in regards to how the blue team manages things but for the most part, it's nothing short of amazing to me personally. So I'm doing my here scouting thing and I decided to bring you two full rounds, plus a plethora of prospects. 75 scouted prospects for season 75.
This list was last updated on Wednesday, November 5. The TPE numbers from that day are the ones on this list. The progress tally is taking into account the last updated week of November 1st and not the current week ending November 8th, leading up to the draft on Monday, November 9th. I'm also taking into account rumors I may have heard.
1. Los Angeles Stars Pistil Stamen @DMaximus C TPE: 268 TEAM GP G A PTS (+/-) SHOT PIM HIT SB Yukon Rush 72 36 48 84 33 286 52 92 12 Progress: 15 14 14 26 24 14 Past 6: 107 The Brazilian has been on Tsujimoto's tail all season vying for the top ranking. He has been over a point-per game with the Yukon Rush and has been consistent in his development. He even helped Team World get to a silver medal, putting up eight points in as many games. Whoever drafts Pistil Stamen will have a solid presence on and off the ice. 2. London United Jolly Greene Giant @DoktorFunk D TPE: 244 TEAM GP G A PTS (+/-) SHOT PIM HIT SB Ottawa Lynx 72 24 48 72 -8 256 138 295 169 Progress: 14 15 19 20 14 14 Past 6: 96 Jolly Greene Giant has probably the most well rounded game of the defensemen of this draft. Putting up a point per game, getting a whopping 295 hits and 169 blocked shots, he sure had his share of the workload and by golly was he Jolly about it. He even put up nine points in Ottawa's seven playoff games. He can be overlooked as a top 5 ranked player, his play doesn't show that one bit. 3. HC Davos Dynamo Kunibuni UnGuri @Berocka G TPE: 224 TEAM GP W L OTL SV % GAA SO GA SV Houston Bulls 67 13 49 5 0.899 3.96 0 267 2640 Progress: 15 17 19 20 19 14 Past 6: 104 The starting goalie in Houston showed up to play every night ready to go, putting in the training, but Houston allowed too many shots for Kunibuni UnGuri to shine. His .899 save % is probably the most telling stat. Here's hoping that UnGuri finds a team to draft this stud goaltender with a solid defensive corps to give him some confidence to round out his game. 4. Chicago Phoenix L @gorlab D TPE: 279 TEAM GP G A PTS (+/-) SHOT PIM HIT SB Mississauga Hounds 72 12 43 55 44 110 80 106 98 Progress: 25 17 14 24 14 14 Past 6: 108 This stud defenseman, plays defense. Like, only defense. L is the ideal defenseman that's looking for a boost to their blue line. He's large, quite strong and has good hands, but he still has plenty to work on. With his whole career ahead, he can work on the things that will help put him over the top and perhaps become the top defender in the VHL someday. 5. New York Americans Joe Kelly @emidas LW TPE: 243 TEAM GP G A PTS (+/-) SHOT PIM HIT SB Halifax 21st 72 14 11 25 26 98 16 25 1 Progress: 14 14 22 30 14 20 Past 6: 114 25 points in 72 games? How is this player ranked so high, you may be asking... well, he's been a victim of playing in a depth role on a top-heavy Halifax 21st team, but his production soared in the post-season. Playing for Team World in the s74 WJC saw him get 11 points with six goals in eight games, so he can play with the best, given he gets the ice time to play. He has been steadily overachieving until lately, let's hope he sticks to his active training. 6. Chicago Phoenix R @Kylrad D TPE: 203 TEAM GP G A PTS (+/-) SHOT PIM HIT SB Mississauga Hounds 72 25 33 58 48 147 62 121 88 Progress: 10 12 12 16 10 12 Past 6: 72 L's partner in crime, R is the more offensively gifted of the duo. He managed a solid 25 goal season with a seriously impressive +48 stat. His fundamental senses are excellent, however he needs to do some power skating and puck handling drills or something because he does lag behind the play. He does have some top pair VHL potential, but his ceiling is far from L's 7. Riga Reign RJ Thatcher @jhatty8 RW TPE: 246 TEAM GP G A PTS (+/-) SHOT PIM HIT SB Mexico City Kings 72 43 43 86 19 412 22 121 51 Progress: 16 21 42 20 14 14 Past 6: 127 With 43 goals and 86 points for the Mexico City Kings, RJ Thatcher is another cannot-miss pure sniper. His shot made its appearance this season, firing 412 pucks, a very high number for a rookie. His playoff contribution wasn't lacking with six points in five games, but it wasn't enough for Mexico to sneak into the next round. His development is excellent, he sure has some star potential. 8. Riga Reign Ove Dyrdahl @GRZ D TPE: 223 TEAM GP G A PTS (+/-) SHOT PIM HIT SB Halifax 21st 72 4 32 36 41 40 105 166 39 Progress: 10 15 12 18 10 10 Past 6: 75 Ove Dyrdahl can be considered a clone of L, really. He's large, skates well, defends very well and doesn't hesitate to use the body. He's a very serviceable defenseman so far and if he rounds his game out, he could enjoy a long and successful career. 9. HC Davos Dynamo Taro Tsujimoto @GustavMattias TEAM GP G A PTS (+/-) SHOT PIM HIT SB Mississauga Hounds 72 50 69 119 53 452 64 142 24 Progress: 14 20 16 21 25 14 Past 6: 110 Taro is a star in the making. He dominated the league for most of the season and is comfortably ranked #1 in tpe. He showed off his shot without mercy and scored 50 goals and 119 points for the Mississauga Hounds. He will fit nicely in HC Davos. With time his fundamentals will soar and hopefully bring the Dynamo some success in the near future. 10. His build is pretty solid and with some time, he could fill shoes of the now-retired Greg Eagles' net for the Riga Reign. 11. His development has been solid and steady, keeping pace with the top of the draft class. Warsaw will welcome his presence as they build for the future with Muffbeav. 12. Playing on a solid Aces squad, he managed 47 points, a +37 differential and 119 hits. His point-per-game production in the playoffs is a telling sign he might be turning a corner. Another season with Vegas could potentially see him explode offensively. 13. He scored 29 goals and 69 points for Miami, getting a massive 250 shots as well. He gets involved in the game easily, his scoring prowess and defensive positioning is on point. Tracking his progress, he is on par with the top of the draft class and looks forward to make a name for himself. 14. His 42 points and 233 hits make him feared by oncoming attackers. He skates amazingly well, but the rest of his game needs improvement. He's making great progress so far in his career, so another season would with Philadelphia would do him some good. 15. His build is solid and his senses are on point to be a star sniper in the league. 16. His fundamental abilites are close to being on par with the top VHLM players already and with some more time in the VHLM, he could be a top scorer next season. In a few seasons, he may be a dark horse VHL rookie of the year candidate. 18. Dolant Fertitta played a solid depth role for the 21st, getting 22 goals on 143 shots, definitely an opportunistic scorer. He had a very productive postseason as well, and has shown a steady progression throughout the season and playoffs as well. Definitely a solid choice for a VHL team looking for some potential franchise depth at wing 19. monttu got a reaction from mattyIceman in Houston Bulls draft in depth
Ice and Hockey #002
Welcome again to read your favourite VHL articles. Today we have interesting interview of Houston Bulls AGM @MattyIce about upcoming VHLM draft. I had a reslly good conversation with him.
1. First of all how many picks do you have?
So far we have 12 selections up until the 7th round, but there may be an extended draft up to 10 rounds, so 3 more picks bringing it up to 15 picks possibly.
2. What kind of player do you want for your 1st overall?
Possibly a top scorer or defender, management hasnt decided which positional priority we want to give our top selection.
3. What kind of players in general do you want from the draft?
Mostly active in the locker room and stays on top of their updates to develop, even minimally. The important thing is to progress throughout the season and not be predictable or stagnant.
4. How do you feel about S75 draft class?
It's a very big one and very spread out, so theres a big opportunity to shape the franchise with this draft.
5. Is there any player who you definitely want to draft.
There are 2 kids up at the top of the rankings, McLaren and mcjake that could be excellent, but it's still anyone's guess.
6. And the last question what is the goal of the Houston Bulls in the season 75?
Get into the playoffs. Sacrifice a goat and bring home a cup to Houston of course.
Now we will be waiting for a absolutely amazing S75 draft. Can Houston Bulls make the playoffs and win the cup? Only time will tell.

monttu got a reaction from mattyIceman in Ice and hockey: Teppo McBighit, Houston Bulls
This is the first article of the new VHL.com series "Ice and Hockey". In this series I will dive deep into players, teams and the whole VHL community.
Today we have interview and deep dive of the Houston Bulls defenceman Teppo Mcbighit.
McBighit started in VHLM in the late season 74. He comes from Lappeenranta, Finland. A small finnish town near the border of Russia. He has played in finnish minors for couple seasons before becoming Houston Bull player. He most likes to play physically and defensively. A true defenceman. This 19 yo player has really made an impact in the Bulls. He has hitted hard and putted his body in front of the puck for such a young player.
Teppo McBighits current S74 stats:
GP 21
G 1
A 1
P 2
+/- -12
SHT 12
PIM 46
HIT 57
SB 35
Interview
You have now played for over 20 games. How do you feel?
-I feel really great, I love playing in Houston. It is such a great town and the team really is for me.
You scored your first goal against Mississauga Hounds. How did it feel to score that goal?
-I don't play hockey to score goals but it felt good.
Bulls haven't had a great season. But now you guys have started to get some wins. What is the secret for this?
-It is not a secret, we have many new players and everyone is really motivated to win. Our GM has made a good job.
Do you have any player who has inspired you to play like you play?
-Dion Phaneuf. I would like to be just like him.
What are your career targets?
-My career targets are to play in high level in every game and get into VHL some day. And maybe raise the cup. I want also be an active man in the VHL community.
Last question. Draft is coming, what are your expectations for that?
-I have checked the rankings. I was 38th. I just want to get drafted. And I really don't mind if the Bulls would select me.
End of interview
I had really good conversation with Teppo. He is really humble person and can go really far on his career. S75 draft class is really great and Teppo bring a little spice to it. He has shown really good development in his S74 games and it hasn't stopped yet and for sure it will continue in S75. I will look forward to the draft and his first full season in the VHLM.

monttu reacted to Victor in Worst Junior Review you'll read
Rara Rasputin Junior Review
Rara Rasputin, Russia's Greatest Love Machine. Quite a title for an unknown 30-year-old goaltender just entering his first professional season in the VHLM. Yes, that's right, Rasputin turned professional the moment he signed for the Miami Marauders a few weeks ago. What's more, he also became a hockey player in general at the same time.
So what has this wonderfully named player been doing up until now? Well he was a professional dancer, but this didn't really work out as he is also ridiculously tall. Then he got obsessed with weight lifting and began entering those “World's Strongest Man” contests and even changed his name so it would be something more memorable. It's not all noise of course, multiple sources tell me he is in fact Russia's greatest love machine. A fine specimen Rasputin is.
Nonetheless, that all begs the question – what is he doing in the VHLM now? How does a dancing weight lifter with no hockey experience became the chosen successor (presumably) to Moscow Menace's franchise goaltender Raymond Bernard? The answer lies in two factors that really have nothing to do with Rasputin – the coronavirus outbreak of 2020 and one bored GM/player agent. Firstly, the COVID pandemic this year and subsequent lockdowns in many countries including Rasputin's home town of Moscow made lots of the entertainment industry unviable, including all of Rasputin's jobs. Secondly, Moscow GM Victor Alfredsson was on the hunt for the franchise's next starting goaltender and had previously had great success as the agent of Greg Clegane. Clegane, for those too young to remember, was an absolute mammoth of a man who also came into the VHL in his 30s. As such, despite it going against the grain for goaltending prospects, Alfredsson set out to find local talents who would fit his template.
At the time of the search, Rasputin was ready to grab any job opportunity which would come his way and was intrigued by the ad put out by Moscow's recruitment team. We are told that in the try-outs behind closed doors, Rasputin did not stand out in too many traditional goaltending attributes. However, he did tick the boxes of size and based on his past, agility, and that was enough to earn the trust of GM Alfredsson. Was it a gamble that looks to pay off? Recapping Rasputin's time in Miami will be interesting but we've seen a mixed bag of results so far. Time will tell whether Bernard's chosen successor lives up to the billing.
