Vat got a reaction from Spartan in Nasherov thoughts
I am tired of the VHL, not in the sense that something/someone is annoying or outright stupid but content wise. I have not had the energy to even watch the scores anymore. I probably have not even watched the scores of games in a month. I have maybe only been watching how many total points my player has once every week or so. It just is not exciting anymore. I do not know if it is because the scores are not as high anymore. It was more to talk about then, even if you momentarily did not like what it did it added something to talk about. Games ending 6-4 were not unusual and teams absolutely running over other teams were not too rare either. Now it is more even. Even if it is more realistic it does not mean it is more entertaining. Just looking at scored ex. 3-2 2-0 is not fun at all. Maybe it is just me but I enjoyed it more with more outrageous scores.

We are back with yet another interview with Nasherov at the start of the new season

How do you feel about the new change in tpe distribution

It feels weird, in a good way.  No one is sure of what is happening and what not, it is also fun to see which players and teams succeed in this new system, some have been doing very well and have been scoring well, on the other hand some players are a little dry on the sticks, one example is myself.  I have not been able to score more than 1 point a game.  But at the same time maybe that is not too unusual, maybe in this new Meta that is good, no one knows.  Another thing that I have found fun about this new Meta and season are the goalie and overall stat lines.  Last season games would end in "unrealistic" ends with too many goals for this to seem like a league that is realistic, this season (from what I have seen from Helsinki games) there are more realistic goals, for example 3-1 which is a perfectly normal game.  It is also fun to see just how competitive the standings can get this season.  Since there is no defined meta that absolutely bulldozez through teams there are larger chances that teams that do not have the player quality of the best can beat teams that do have that quality.  Another aspect of reality added to this league which I find makes this league one itsy bitsy bit better.  Which in total makes a difference over time.

How do you feel about Nasherov's start to the season?

Mixed emotions, on one hand I am starting my worst season probably ever.  But on the other hand I might be a top player in this new Meta.  We do not know what "good" stats will be and look like, I guess that we can only see with time.  Hell maybe I am even a huge flop, no one knows, but as long as I see my team winning I will never complain.  My ultimate goal is to win the cup and I can not do that alone, because this is a team sport.  If we want to win we will have to play like a team and we can not depend on one single person to score and produce points for us.  That is why I believe that we will go far, we have depth in all positions which does not make us weak if one singular person fails, with such depth we can go far into the playoffs.  Maybe even so far that we can win the whole thing, we also play best when we need to.  Games that are a must for us to win are the most fun to play and the ones we perform the best in too.

Alright thank you Nasherov for yet another amazing interview, you sure are good at them.

Thank you so much bye bye

I can not wait until this season is over. Not because I want this stuff to be over with reason that I am unhappy. I want to see how much different things are this season from the last without meta. The comparisons will be absolutely huge, last season there were tons of players who scored 100+ points. And doing it did not make your player special in any way, yes you were a part of one of the better players that season but no one said that you had done something special. This season there will only be a very small handful of players who score that many points making them more special and earn more recognition. The goalies will be way better too as already shown, the GA are dropping like crazy and signing a good goaltender to be able to go that extra mile and win a cup.

Another season has come and gone for the Calgary Wranglers. Their last season competing with their old core and what a season it was. They fell short in the playoffs but had one of the best seasons to date over the last "meta" phase of the league. Lets dive into our team awards for the season!

    Top Shelf Award

The winner of this seasons Top Shelf Award goes to Reylynn Reinhart. Reylynn joined the Wranglers this seasons coming off a disappointing tenure in Davos. She had discussed with the Wrangler's management group about her desire to switch to a foward. Doing so injected and immense amount of offense into the Calgary roster. She finished with 56 goals in season 82 which is the highest total during GM Kris Rice's time at the helm. She was absolute force out there for Calgary all season long and worked hard to deserve this award.

    Rybak Trophy

The Rybak Trophy is given to the player who held the highest point total during the regular season. This season's winner Reylynn Reinhart finished with a team leading 110 points which was 5 points ahead of the next player on the team. This is also the highest point total GM Kris Rice has seen in Calgary during his tenure. Reylynn did it all for this team and though it was only for one season her efforts will not be forgotten. Congatulations Reylynn Reinhart on winning The "Rybak" Trophy.

    Sheriff's Badge

The Sheriff's badge is awarded to the player who best exemplifies leadership on and off the ice during the regular season. This seasons award winner was the captain himself Phil "The Rock" Johnson @Phil. He led the way on the ice having a career year in almost every statistical category that wasn't hits. Where Phil shines the most though is off the ice and in the room with the team. He is always a teammate who will support the rest of the team no matter the results. The result at the end of the day doesn't deter him from wanting to be a Wrangler for life. Congratulations Phil "The Rock" Johnson!

    Jubis Memorial Trophy

This award is my favorite one to hand out. It is given to the member of our team who best exemplifies the potential to have long term success in the VHL. Now this is partially about their player and the potential success that player might have but it is more to do with the involvement in the league they have done for themselves. This member has stepped into a management role down in the VHLM, he is one of the more likeable and social players in various different areas of the league, whether that be in his own locker room or in various tournament discords such as the Victory ProAM or the JST. I see great potential in this member and for that I would like to congratulate Daniel Janser (aka Kurt Janser) @Daniel Janser on being awarded the Jubis Memorial Trophy for season 82.

    Last Line Award

The Last Line Award is given to the top defensemen during the regular season. I feel this seasons winner is a very obvious choice! We did have a few defenders who had excellent seasons but this one had the best. Tom Eagles @Greg_Di had a career year in Calgary. He finished 2nd in team scoring with 105 points as a defensemen. He hit a lot of personal bests in a number of statistical caterogies and won himself a Jake Wylde Trophy as the leagues top Defensive Defensemen. For a defensemen who really had solid career years in the shadows, he finally stepped into the light and showed the league just what he can do. Congratulations Tom Eagles on winning this seasons Last Line Award.

    Young Buck Award

This seasons Young Buck Award winner is Goaltender Ben Dahl @Ben. He was one of the top goalies in the VHLE last season leading the Stockholm Vikings to a second place finish during the regular season. He finished with a 28-11-4 record in 43 games played and had a .922 save % and a 3.29 GAA. They fell short in the post season but the performance Dahl put on last season shows a lot of promise and his future in Calgary looks bright. He looks to step into the starting Goalie position as Sirkants Klamasteris has retired. This is a great opportunity for the young goalie and Calgary is excited for the future of this player.

    Most Valuable Wrangler

There are a number of players that could have been chosen for this award. In my opinion, one stands out above the rest. Sirkants Klamasteris @hedgehog337was the back bone of this Calgary roster. Each and every game he gave this team a chance to win. He didn't always get the run support needed but every player on that roster valued highly what Klamasteris brought to this team. Even in his final season as an aging goaltender Klamasteris put up some of the best numbers in the league. He left big shoes to fill in Calgary and we are grateful for the time he put into this team as we chased for that elusive championship! Congratulations Sirkants Klamasteris on being the season 82 Most Valuable Wrangler.

    Top Media Spot

The top media spot this season is being awarded too Gutislav Nasherov @Vat. His dream team article really stood out for me as he wrote a really good breakdown on his dream lineup to play alongside with. Some of those players happen to be current and ex Calgary Wrangler's so that may have given him some bonus points on winning this award
    Top Graphic

So I never knew how good this member was at making graphics until he started dropping them in the Calgary LR this past season. @DollarAndADream has made some absolute gem's this season and the one I have chose is the graphic he made for our new goalie Ben Dahl. It is perfection! Its simple, laid out nicely and the effects aren't too over bearing. It absolutely deserves some praise!
    Top Podcast

The podcast game is quite thin in this league hence the reason we usually have repeat winners :P. A new person has entered the podcast game at least that I have seen recently and I feel he deserves some recognition for his work. Our Top Podcast winner is @jRuutu! He does a great job in this podcast which isn't planned out at all. He does it all on the go and did a really great job. Check it out if you're looking for more podcasts to listen to!

That wraps up our season 82 edition of the Calgary Wrangler Team Awards! Congratulations to all the winners, we will back for the season 83 awards next offseason!

Vat got a reaction from Daniel Janser in Vat's Dream team
For this seasons theme week we have to write about our dream team.  I will go over why I chose out this team member for member, so here is my list:

    GM - Kristof Welch ( @Juice)

    ( @rory)  ( @Daniel Janser)
Jeffrey Pines - Daniel Janser - Gustislav Nasherov

                ( @Spartan)     ( @Juice)
                  Alex Letang   -   Kristof Welch

                      ( @hedgehog337)
                       Sirkants Klamasteris

    General manager - Kristof Welch

The reason I chose Kristoff Welch as the general manager is simple, skill.  With Gustislav Nasherov having Welch as his first ever AGM he got flabbergasted by how he was only an AGM.  His skills were unforgettable, and with his trusty GM Hylands they were simply tacticians greater than Napoleon himself.  Having such a manager on this team will take them to heights they've never felt before.  The tactical plays will be immaculate and with the squad he posses there is no team with any sort of chance against him, this means that we are going to go to the finals at least every single year.

    Left Wing - Jeffrey Pines

There is no need to explain on what Pines has done in his career.  He is an icon to the whole VHL community and when you think of people you want on your team Pine pops up instantly.  With the legacy behind him opponents will have to think twice before they try to defend him.  There needs to be a whole strategy to stop him, and if there isn't then the chances of the puck not going into the goal and the buzzer sounding is close to zero.  With such personality and skillfull playstyle he will contribute with offense and the intimidation of opponents making them fear of what to come when he has the puck.  Being on this team and this line he will put up 100+ points with ease, if he really would try to score as many as possible in a season he could be very close to the 200 point mark and beat records old and young in true Jeffrey Pines style.

    Center - Daniel Janser

Janser is still only in his first season in the VHL but is showing true all star traits.  There is absolutely nothing that can stop the Swiss born train from grabbing the puck and making sure no one is playing with no manners.  in the VHLE he put up 184 hits in a mere 52 games.  Thats an average of 3,5 hits per game.  With such a hard working player on the team no one will try to mess with anyone on there, and if they did then they will understand to never EVER do it again.  He will contribute with leadership to the team and making sure no opponent gets too rough and putting them into place.  And with time when Janser

    Right Wing - Gustislav Nasherov

Gustislav Nasherov is a force to be reckonned with.  It's the same as with Jeffrey Pines.  Do not leave him alone, you need to stop him immediately.  And then you have Pines on the same line with him, thats when the oppositions defense starts ti crumble.  Having to defend both Jeffrey Pines and Gustislav Nasherov at the same time is as hard as having to defend Gretzky and Lemieux at the same time, it's not possible.  WIth these two players linking up it will be hard to stop their clap clap boom attacks thats makes the sport of hockey look like a kids game.  WIth the addition of Danioel Janser too no one will have the guts to even play the slightest rough with them, because if they do then they will feel the Swiss wrath.

    Left Defense - Alex Letang

The Canadian defense monster is not a player you can take lightly, also being a very physical defender as Janser he is even more physical.  In only 2 seasons he amassed a total of 597 hits.  Thats also about 3,5 hits a game.  In a season thats 72 games long.  Not only are those stats insane but in one of those two seasons he managed to score 119 points.  Having a defender that can play on the physical side and also score points is a player everyone wants on their team.  Especially me.  Now imagine both Letang and Janser putting fear into every opponent.  WIth both of them on the ice not even the opponents entire team would want to lay a finger on them or their teammates.

    Right Defense -  Kristof Welch

Kristof Welch is Gustislav Nasherov's best friend.  With the link up between those will be immaculate.  The chemistry alone will make the points fall in like a waterfall, and no one can stop them.  They are truly the ultimate duo of this team and with Welch's leadership abilites (and high tpe count) the opposition will have no chance, wether they are playing defense or offense.  No matter they are they have no chance.  And with the others in the team no one will stand a chance to stop the dream team.  No one.  With the routine of Welch and Letang there are basically zero people that can stop such defensive beasts on 1v1, 2v2, 3v2, 4v2 even 5v2.  They are simple unstoppable beings made to make the goalers job as easy as it could get.

    Goaltender (goaler) - Sirkants klamasteris

People say that the goalie is the most important position in hockey and to have a succseful team you need to start from the back with an amazing goalie.  And so I chose the Calgary goalie Klamasteris.  WIth an average save percentage of 0.920 and 3 Goals allowed per game average throughout 9 (!!!) seasons he will shut down the leagues best attackers.  Under the very rare circumstances that both Welch and Letang aren't home on defense there is no need to worry.  Because the shooter has no chance against the Latvian beast.  He almost wants for it too happen so he can get to play some exciting hockey because in 5v5 on defense the shots thats most regular goalers would let in are not more than routine stops for him.

That's my dream team that would go 72-0 in a vhl seasons and sweep the playoffs.

Helsinki has the 6th overall pick in the upcoming draft, what position needs new blood the most?

I don't think we are in dire need of any certain position, but a top tier prospect never does an organisation wrong

    2. Thinking back to your own draft year, would you rather get picked in the top-10 or later?

Later, always love to be the underdog.  You have nothing to lose and ha e basically no expectations set on you compared to top 10 picks

    3. Did any Titans player create a surprising build?

I am not too into what builds the gang has set up but I've heard some people have leadership

    4. Leadership at 1, did Jokinen just earn at least an A to his jersey?

Would be rigged if Jokinen did not

    5. In general, what do you think about the international tournaments in VHL?

Meh.  No one really cares about them, would be great if you got tpe for participating so you get rewarded for participating

    6. Do you let your agent negotiate all your deals, or will you do everything yourself?

I do it all myself, because then I am aware of everything that is said while negotiating

Will there be an upset in the league? With no one knowing what is a good build and not there are not impossibilities that an upset will take place, a low tpe team winning games against teams that have wayyy more toe than them. They will probably not win the cup and the playoffs as a whole but they will definitely make an upset, it will be exciting to see which team, if it even happens. Nonetheless I am excited for the wonders that this coming season holds. As I said before I believe that goalies will be goldworth, goalies holding the 0 will definitely not be as rare as before and I think that we will see an insane growth of goalie stats in the coming seasons. I also think that the insane stats of tens of People scoring 100+ points a season will be lessened by a mile due to the new changes and that the goalies will be better.

Tell me one good reason why Erlantz Jokinen should pass the puck to you?

Because I am newly traded here and to be nice to me he should sauce it over to me

    2. I just blocked a shot and I'm taking my time getting to the bench, am I faking it or am I really hurt?

Really hurt, you aren't the type to fake stuff like that, besides blocking a shot is awesomesauce

    3. Who is going to score the most goals for Helsinki next season?

    The best player of course

    4. Who is the toughest and meanest player in the Titans roster?

On the outside? Idk, but on the inside everyone is sweet and full of rainbows, I promise

    5. I want to score a goal against Booberry in the practice, what is his weakness?

Slapshot in the head then you will surely score one.  But please be kind and blow on vis forehead to so he does not get hurt

    6. If you would have to select a goal song for your player - what would you pick?

Many, because I would not want to hear the same song over and over again every night.

Nasherov gets traded back into his new-old shoes in Helsinki. There are mixed emotions between happy and sadness, luckily we have an interview:

How do you feel leaving Calgary?

Very sad, many close friends were made there and it is a period of my life that I will never forget. The chemistry I had with the players there are unmatched, the memories I made there were also unmatched. I can't forget the night the trade went the other way and I headed to Calgary, I was welcomed with widely open arms and we chatted for hours. We also began trying to win the cup, but no success found ( SMH stupid meta ). We did once reach the semifinals against the eventual champions Vancouver ( All my homies hate Vancouver ). In a game 7 where we fell short, but we were still happy that we were able to get so far. In my eyes we could have fought in the finals and won it, but that's hockey. Things do not always pan out like they are supposed to. In the 2nd year we unfortunately exited in the first round against LA. We were destined to do better. With an even better team than last year we once again could have won the whole thing if we played like we used to in the regular season, but once again, hockey is hockey and things do not always work like they are supposed to. Even though we exited early we still had a blast of a season. We were a squad who still had tons of fun even when we did not perform like we should. And that's why I love Calgary.

How do you feel about joining Helsinki?

I am thrilled, even though it is sad that I have to leave Calgary. I am excited to join my teammates that were in Helsinki before I left. I have noticed that in games that they have become a lot sharper than when I left them. It gives you a feeling of completion when you get to witness the growth of a player or person that you know. I am thrilled to find out what kind of teammates they have become. I am also confident that they are hungry for a cup win. I will try to help them as much as possible and give them as much advice as they need. I also of course want to win a cup at any cost, it would definitely be nice to end my career with a win of the cup, then I will have won the VHLM cup and VHL cup ( The VHLE didn't exist when I was created ). Now I even have a chance to win the world cup as I am elected to the Nordic team with my old Calgary line-mates. I am happy that I still get to play with them, even though we are on different teams. It would be amazing to win a world cup with them to end my story with Calgary on a pretty note

I am excited for the new season as I get to join my old and first club in the VHL to chase a cup. Also because of the new anti-meta system which will cause great confusion this season as no one knows what will do good and what not and maybe because there is a slim and small chance that there will be a new Meta that will dominate the scene, even though I believe that the possibilities of that are close to 0 there is still that 1 or 2 percentages that say there will be a new Meta. Either way I am excited to see how this will change the VHL scene and how top tier players will look in a couple of seasons. I am also excited that I still get to chase the cup with Helsinki and that I am in the world cup with my Nordic brothers, and linemates from Calgary.

1 last season for Nasherov left. Felt like an eternity since I first started, truly a period of life where things got better, many new friends made. Memories made for sure, and a hell of a ton of laughs. I can't wait until I can put an end to the story of Nasherov, and at the same time I don't want it to end. I don't want to leave Nasherov behind. I will not recreate directly after his retirement. Maybe after a couple of years when I am done with school. But I will come back, probably as a goaler. He will be the single greatest the league has ever seen, even would've kept 0's on the board if he would've play in the meta era. What his name is will be a question for another day, but it will be creative and not copied from a YouTuber (I hope).

I am excited to be apart of an historical event in the VHL. The last season and last playoffs before the anti-meta change. Maybe this season will be remembered for a long while after the update and in many years I will be able to look back at Nasherov and see that I was there. That I was pre season 100. I am also very excited for the update itself. I think that it will change the VHL as we know it and make it more strategical maybe. It will also make it it more fair as there will be no known meta that ruins the fun. I am not 100% sure on how it works yet but that I only have to figure out and when I do that I will have to figure out what I should do with my tpe, I will probably leave that to my GM though as I want to fit in with the team.

The new system sure does sound interesting. With the goal of stopping meta abusing teams I am very excited to see how it works. Will it be a fail? Will it make the VHL like it should be? Or will we find another way to abuse the system and find new ways to become overpowered. I all very excited for all of these factors as in ⅔ cases it will change how the VHL works. And when something big takes a huge turn in a direction that we don't know where will lead us I am excited to see how things pan out in the long span. Maybe it will only work for a couple of seasons or maybe it will work forever. Nonetheless it is a solution that sounds very solid and I can not wait until it's here and explore how new the VHL will be and how things will work differently.

The background is absolutely stunning! One of the best.  The text is also top tier.  It fits in with the background splendidly.  The left render also fits in very nicely, it is very well shaded and is not too dark yet not too bright which I have to give you props for.  Although the right one is not my favorite, the helmet sticks out too much for my taste.  If maybe you could've made it a little less shiny then the graphic would've been ultra superb.  Well done! 9/10

Nasherov is starting to play "shaky", why? I have no idea. But it's not fun. Seeing your player performing awesomely at the start of the season then being down right bad sucks. Why isn't the sim engine more consistent? Why isn't the sil engine more realistic? Why do we still use STHS? It is renowned throughout the community that it has it's questionable sims A LOT. But there's nothing done about it other than complaining about it for a day, maybe even two? Why not explore the opportunity of using another engine that is more realistic and counters meta build and has the more realistic simming. Every player has a chance to produce points, even if you're not a 40 passing 99 scoring 99 defense consistently putting up 100 point seasons. I am sure that there is a better engine out there.
