  5. not hating the idea as such, but want to point out that it will be difficult for newbies to get into the Best people here but socially distanced VHL then. Let's be honest if someone is auto-12 capped and throws in the occasional donation, they will always outgrind rookies and even in their last year be more useful (from a TPE viewpoint) than rookies. Just my two cents (and of course no offense meant to any veteran players at all).
  6. Congrats a_Ferk, hope you will not be too shocked by the depleted roster I left you (sorry).
  7. Thanks for the trust put into me @Acydburn and @rjfryman, hope to be able to at least partly fill the big shoes left by @KaleebtheMighty. And congrats to my co-appointee @MubbleFubbles, well deserved nomination.
  8. Though trade talks between HSK and MOS would be way smoother... don't you think?
  9. I also think that Helsinki has enough assets to either tear everything down and rebuild from scratch or to build a contender on the pieces they have in one or two season, or even to compete now if the new GM is willing to mortgage the future for it.
  10. Thanks @Lemorse7 for the quick and productive talk. @ColeMrtz Thanks for all you did for the Hounds and good luck in your quest for the Founder's Cup.
  11. Hi Owen, Also a warm welcome from me. If you want to boost your draft stock do not miss out on the earning possibilities. You can find a guide here: If you need help with your build, here is a guide for that as well: I am more than happy to get you started, should you need further assistance. Wishing you an enjoyable VHL-experience and a good start, Daniel
  12. which, if exposed to sufficient pressure and heat will turn into a diamond.... Jokes aside I do not envy your situation and sincerely hope a feasible solution will be found in due time
  13. Graphic courtesy of Leandrofg (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) While Marcel is working his buttocks of to improve his offensive skills in Calgary's headquarter, Daniel is frolicking in the renowned ProAm Tournament, dressing for the Birmingham Tiddlywinks. Daniel played in eight games for the Tiddlywinks, which sport a 5-3-0 record for tied first place. Here are the results and Daniel's personal stats. We will go into further details for the two matches the Swiss Center was named the first star of the game. vs Atlantic City Angus, 4-3 L; 0g, 1a, -2, 2 PIM (Hooking, no effect on the score), 1sb, 79.00FO% vs Arctic Ground Squirrels, 3-0 W; 0g, 1a, +1, 3 hits, 56.00FO% vs Brazilian Baristas, 4-2 W; 0g, 0a, +2, 69.00FO% (nice) vs Atlantic City Angus, 5-2 W; 1g, 1a, +1, 2 hits, 67.00FO%, 1st Star vs Arctic Ground Squirrels, 2-0 L; 0g, 0a, +0, 2 PIM (Holding, no goal scored against), 1 hit, 57.00FO% vs Red Panda Trashers, 7-2 W; 2g, 2a, +2, 1 hit, 66.00FO% vs Atlantic City Angus, 5-1 W; 3g, 0a, +1, 1 hit, 55.00FO%, 1st Star vs Brazilian Baristas, 3-0 L; 0g, 0a, -1, 1sb, 59.00FO% And here the featured matches for the Rotkreuz native: 5-2 Birmingham took an early lead in this match, scoring two unanswered goals in the first period. Burns and III found the back of the net for the Brits. After the first tea, Godlander's power play marker was framed by two AC goals. It was a one goal game again going into the third. Then late in the last period during a power play, Minion picked up a dumped puck to Janser, Janser to Maellard. The defence man carries the puck in to the Angus' zone, relays the disc to Powers, Powers to Janser who onetimes it bar down. The fifth an final goal was scored by Kisslinger. The three stars were Janser (1g/1a), III (1g/2a) and Laperriere (1g/1a). Minion (.924) held the edge over Swayman (.902) in the duel between the pipes. Birmingham's power play was good (2/6) and the penalty killing spotless (3/3). 5-1 The second featured match just so happens to be against the rebels from across the pond again. Kisslinger scored the opener and only goal in the first period after 7:44. The second frame was dominated by the Bromies with 28-1 shots. During said period, Cheese intercepted a pass, moved into the danger zone, and passed the biscuit to Kisslinger. Kisslinger one taps it to Johnston, who cannot control the puck. Dan picks it up and fires away, the shot is blocked but the Swiss forward is nothing if not persistent, has a second try and catches Swayman in the five hole. Mere five minutes later, Johnston digs out a missed shot from Kisslinger, passes the disc to Powers. The back gives it back to Johnston who relays to Janser in the slot. The fervent Zug supporter takes the shot backhand and lures the keeper into the wrong corner. In the third period, Atlantic City spoils Minion's potential shutout and score on even strength. Unfortunately for the Jersey outfit, Buffy decided at that point in time to take to minor penalties within the span of two minutes, both of which were converted by the Brits. First, the Tiddlywinks displayed a text book power play, with pass over pass over pass, until the shot lane was open for Janser who blasted big slapper from the mid-distance, screened by his team mates. Swayman's view was blocked and the shot was just about 8 inches above the ice, high enough to get above the shinpads, but low enough for the glove to be too slow. Hattrick for the Swiss hockey export. Cheese with his power play goal sealed the fate for the Casino enthusiasts. The three stars in this match were Janser (3g/0a), Kisslinger (1g/2a) and Powers (0g/3a). Minion (.944) again won the goalkeeper competition against Swayman (.917). Power play (2/6) and box play (4/4) remained consistent with the other featured match. Daniel's stats so far: 8gp, 6g, 5a, 11pts, +4, 4 PIM, 8 hits, 2sb, 1gwg, 2ppg, 63.31FO% and two first stars. 14. to be fair, I honestly believed that this just for throwing my number in the hat (like the perma-job-application we have on the forum)... If I pulled the trigger prematurely I am most embarassed and apologize for that...
  15. or someone with a hernia surgery (or an STI)
  16. Please put me in for a player's HOF article
  17. Rick Grimes @tinafrombobsburgers and Daryl Dixon @Ricer13 only come as a package from what I heard in the CGY locker room. Of course I do not know how much GM's give about this in the draft, I would not draft one without the other (unless I want to be benched in CGY , and of course out of respect that Ricer drafted me together with my brother into the CGY organisation, despite higher earners having been available at the time)...
  18. Well they were right with Strasmore landing with the Wranglers at least... but yeah one cannot not #blamecole at this point...
  19. I think, during the Davos grunge scene era, people just thought: 'Nevermind, smells like teen spirit.'
  20. You do a smashing job in Vegas and produce a lot of future VHL leaders and role players while doing so. You will be sorely missed as a GM and I hate to see you leave as one of the first people new members get into touch with. Having said that, I understand that the way you GM must be very time consuming. You apparently will have less time to do so in the foreseeable future, and I learned enough about you to understand that you are not doing something which you would consider half-assed. For that you have my outmost respect. I hope for the VHLM that there will be a time when you can make time again for this role and I have no shadow of a doubt that you will get the job without a second thought.
  21. and the Cheese, don't you forget about the cheese
  22. Well at least you have Phil going to the Wranglers right
