  1. Samuel Gate has played for Team Mercenaries in each of the past three world cups after being FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY by Team USA again and again. While the decisions were certainly reasonable, Gate was definitely a more skilled player than Peter Quill in S62 and was at least top four in S64, but it was close.* This year, you could had made an argument for either Marvin Harding or Gate as the last defenseman on the roster; but Gate, fresh off his best season in the VHL (for which he was named the Top Defenseman), was neglected once again. With Gate retiring from the VHL, this World Cup would be his last time playing competitive hockey. Team Mercenaries fared quite well, finishing 7-2-1 in the Round Robin stage (their best during Gate's time as a member of the team). After losing in the semi-finals to Team Canada, Samuel Gate's final game would be set. Team Mercenaries were going to be playing against Team USA in the bronze medal game. Team USA came into this World Cup having won eight straight medals, tied for the longest run in World Cup history. Meanwhile, Team Mercenaries had only ever won a medal once, a bronze back in S46. Gate had a fantastic game against Team USA. Within 2 minutes and 34 seconds, he had already recorded two assists. Before ten minutes were up in the game, he scored a goal to put Team Mercenaries up 4-0. The score was 5-3 at the end of it all, with Gate also having five hits and three shots blocked. He was named the second star of the game. As a side note, I'm now tied with @Beketov for most bronze medals at eight. *I believe I was still active in S62 so that decision is a bit questionable, but my inactivity for S64 makes the small difference justifiable.
  2. @Renomitsu, the first time he was here, about 50 seasons ago.
  3. Huh, only defenseman pick that I missed when looking to see who was gone. Was surprised he hadn't been picked, but I guess that explains that. In that case.. D - Joseph McWolf
  4. D - Ryan Kastelic @Renomitsu
  5. F - Leph Twinger @Nykonax
  6. yoooo Fantastic final game of hockey for Samuel Gate.

  8. I'm planning on making Rushmore into a power forward (and not the "I'm a TPE whore who has maxed everything else" way).
  9. Samuel Gate more like Samuel Great am I right?
  10. I didn't really know what to expect going into the VHLM draft, as far as where I would be picked or by whom. Ultimately, I was the 14th overall pick by the Yukon Rush, a team with which I am very familiar. As some of you know (but probably not actually a whole lot), I was the founder of the Yukon Rush back in S31. To be quite honest, I'm actually surprised the team still exists, given the shakeups in the VHLM that have occurred and the fact that the team is located in Yukon. Certainly there have to be more prominent locations for a team to be, but the Rush have survived somehow despite occasional discussion of moving the team. And I'm certainly happy to see it. I'm also happy to be going back there with Rushmore. When I founded them, I didn't have a player on the team, but we won the championship in S31. Several seasons later, in S52, I played for the Rush for the first time with my goalie, mist4ke. The team was one game away from winning the Founder's Cup, losing in Game 7 to some other team that is less cool. While I am happy to be on the Rush this season, there is one other team that I would have also preferred above the rest. That is the Minnesota Storm, simply for the fact that I live in Minnesota.
  11. I would've thought Gate wouldn't be eligible, since I retired him during the season. At least I think that's how it used to work. I won't complain though!
