  1. Team Streetlight I've been in the VHL for quite some time, and in that time, I have of course made several players. To be exact, I have made seven players. (Well, technically eight, but I don't count the zero TPE player I made back in S2 before I really joined the league.) Of all the players I've made, I have only duplicated a position one time, giving me one of everything plus a second goalie. That said, it is quite easy for me to make a lineup of my best players, and so I will. Essentially, this media spot will be me talking about my players, but in such a way that I'm imagining them all playing together. Fayt Leingod - Keiji Toriyama - Diana Maxwell My forwards have been relatively diverse, with Diana Maxwell being the clear standout among them. She is an all-around great player, and the only player in this trio who will provide any sort of physical play, though I wouldn't call her a power forward. Fayt Leingod was a solid goal scorer during his time, but he wasn't much more than that. Keiji Toriyama could sufficiently play the role of a playmaker in between the other two. Except for a lack of checking, Toriyama was a decent player in most aspects, but he was never really a star. Leingod was a two-time cup winner, but his only individual hardware was a Most Sportsmanlike award. That's still more than Toriyama, who had no accolades to his name, and whose biggest claim to fame is how many times he was traded. Maxwell still has three seasons left, but she has already won two championships, a Daisuke Kanou Trophy, and just this past season led the league in goals and points. Fayt Leingod, my first player Lloyd Light - Geno Esposito Lloyd Light was built to be an offensive defenseman, while Geno Esposito was much more physical. That gives my lineup a mix of playstyles on defense as well as in my forwards. Light did eventually switch to forward for the final season of his career, where he was further able to demonstrate his scoring prowess, but he was very solid on the defensive side of the ice as well. He did win a Labatte Trophy, something that Esposito never did. I do feel like Esposito would have gone on to have a better career if I didn't cut his career short. He played just five seasons, winning a championship in Season 20 with the Dynamo. Benjamin Glover In net, I have undoubtedly my best player (though Maxwell could contend that claim by the time her career is over) in Benjamin Glover. While I often felt like Glover's stats didn't quite reflect his skills, he was a two-time top goalie and five-time losing finalist. Though never a champion, Glover is my only player to have won a Scotty Campbell Trophy, being named the league's most valuable in S28. At the time of his retirement, his 1269 TPE was the record, but it was bested within a few seasons. Benjamin Glover, my best player I know that I am not the only member who could make a one-line team out of their players, and I am considering doing write-ups on some of the others and perhaps ranking them. The only other two that I know of without doing more research would be tfong and Kendrick, but I highly doubt that there aren't more out there.
  2. Not many did it before you joined, either. Petenis is just the third (Tomas Jenskovic and Patrick Bergqvist being the other two).
  3. Player Name: mist4ke VHL Team: HC Davos Dynamo Cash you have: 6 millions Purchase Name: VHL.com/Radio Upgrade Cost of Purchase: 2 millions Cash Left: 4 millions
  4. That was a mistake in itself. Clearly I should have named him mis+4ke to better represent the welfare player that he is. Missed opportunity I guess. In other news, mist4ke has a new backup goalie in Davos, with Edwin Threencarnacion having signed with the team this off-season. We also added Elijah Dotran through free agency, giving us a solid defenseman to pair with the youngster Pablo. Hopefully our youth can start to shine. Takashi Fujimoto and Rusty Trombone are joining Shawn Gretzky on the first line of forwards, and we actually have some not entirely terrible players forming our second line. While I'm not expecting great success, we could certainly be a playoff team starting this season and for several seasons to come. Unrelated to all that, I've noticed that only one initial of all of my players has been a vowel, that being the 'E' for Esposito. That's really not all that interesting, but I needed to add a few more words to this article. For anyone who is curious for some reason, my players initials have been as follows: FL, GE, BG, KT, LL, DM, m. for mis+4ke
  5. Can't ctrl+f for my name tho That's okay for me though I just have to look at the top of the list
  6. Zach Arce in S12 most likely had fewer TPE. And then again in S13 he probably still had fewer TPE.
  7. I've been around since S12 and I've spent like 90% of that time on three different teams.
  8. From S53 to S54, Helsinki Titans goalie Astrid Moon almost made a complete 180. In his rookie year, he had a horrid 0.899 save percentage, but he followed that up with a much better 0.929 this past season. His improved play was not just in the regular season, however, as he also put on a show in the post-season. One of the biggest stories of the S53 playoffs was Moon's abysmal performance. While the Titans did make it out of the first round, it took them seven games against the Cologne Express, a team that had no business pushing them to the brink. This was in large part due to Moon's inability to stop the puck. Ultimately, Moon had a save percentage of 0.865, as he struggled in the semi-finals against Stockholm as well. Being pulled in four of his starts, Moon was mocked during the off-season for his dreadful play. Just a season later, in the playoffs, Moon helped carry the fourth place Titans to a Continental Cup. He had a 0.939 save percentage, a drastic increase from the previous season. One thing that I find interesting in particular about Moon's regular season improvement is that, while he did see a 30 point increase in save percentage, he finished with just a marginally better record. I would assume this is because he put up better stats against the bottom tier teams that he was winning higher scoring games against the previous season, but I don't care to research those splits. for Maxwell

  11. Is it too late to sign with Quebec? dw Devise this is just a joke
  12. I accept this offer. This was a very tough choice. While Calgary was an intriguing option, ultimately it did come down to Quebec and New York as I was expecting my decision would coming into the off-season. Of the two, I think Quebec is clearly the better team. If this was just about winning Cups, that would be the easy choice. Honestly, that might be the better choice as far as personal stats are considered as well, which is something that I have to take into consideration when the other option is New York, a team with which I honestly don't expect to win another Cup. But I like a bit of parity in the league. If I leave for Quebec, North America is essentially a one-team conference. Where is the fun in that? While I still think they are heavily favored to win the conference, maybe New York can pull off an upset. New York is my VHL home. There is potential for Maxwell to set franchise records in goals and points if I can continue at a pace similar to the last couple seasons, and that's certainly something that factored into my decision. I'm a big fan of the historical aspect of the league, so I would be ecstatic if Maxwell could go down as one of the greatest in Americans history.
  13. Player Name: Diana Maxwell VHL Team: F/A Cash you have: $29,500,000 Purchase Name: 'The Jaromir Jagr' (Scoring) Cost of Purchase: $6,000,000 Cash Left: $23,500,000
  14. Hard to say Petenis wasn't the most outstanding. Compare him to the top defensemen and he was clearly the best. The top goalies are all really close.
  15. I don't like to disappoint people, so it's hard for me to make a choice here. I have an offer from three teams, and each team is very much in consideration, and each for a different reason. New York I've spent a lot of my time in the VHL with the Americans; I consider this team to be my VHL home. I've spent most of Maxwell's career up to this point with them, and we've won two championships. It's hard to leave this team. I've been a free agent twice before (Geno Esposito, Lloyd Light), and both times, I ultimately signed with New York. Maybe this will be the third time? Honestly, I wouldn't expect to win if I sign here, but this one would be about loyalty. Not just to the team, but to the other guys there who have dedicated themselves to the team. Quebec City Signing with the Meute is where I would go if I want to win. Already better than they were last season, I can't imagine anyone in North America could put up much of a fight if I were to join. Honestly, my thoughts of signing with Quebec started last off-season. I've never played for Frank, but I'd like to. And they have a lot of cool guys on this team. Calgary Coming into free agency, I was expecting my decision to come down to New York and Quebec, regardless of who else offers. However, joining Calgary is an intriguing proposal. Signing with them would be a move to help propel a rebuilding team into possibly contending. I want to have my decision soon, no later than tomorrow night. Honestly, right now I'm thinking I might end up just rolling a die or something random. Ugh, this is supposed to be fun. for Maxwell
  16. I would prefer no more than a 2-season contract; minimum salaries each year is good.
