  1. Minneapolis or Detroit would be right in the same area, so it would match the travel argument and still be a better location than Minot
  2. If there needs to be a complaint committee for Media, I'd be interested. I would not be interested for Graphics.
  3. Denying the quality of Steve Tremblay is a dangerous move...
  4. I don't use milk at all, I use fruit, juice, ice, and yogurt (not greek, regular, the one that isn't sour - usually Dannon Light and Fit)
  5. Agreed
  6. Funny how the only USA team is 10th. Campbell is going back into the VHLM draft (as well as the VHL draft - he was a waiver guy last season) so odds are he doesn't even end up on Minot. If your point is to try to avoid him, he may or may not be a Gladiator.
  7. As you all know, Martin Brookside, my third player, just got shipped over to the Cologne Express (because the Helsinki Titans didn't want to win cups or anything, apparently). This is a first for me, being in the European Conference. Throughout three players, I've never once played in Europe. Lars Intranquilo spent most of his career on the Calgary Wranglers, then was sent as a rental to the New York Americans. Clark Marcellin, my second player and entirely during my run as GM of Calgary, spent his entire career on the Wranglers and went down with the ship, trying to drag along a cup kicking and screaming. It didn't work (although in his second to last season, winning North America was arguably more important at the time than the cup itself, due to the league landscape at the time). Martin Brookside, my third player, was a Wrang until last night. He is now an Express. I'd like to point out something for the Express fans: Lars Intranquilo: 1 cup, S23. Clark Marcellin: 1 cup, S30. Martin Brookside: nothing yet. If it's some sort of rule that I have to get exactly one cup per player, which thus far seems to be the case, I'm still due. You guys are it. Let's win this thing and keep the train rolling. Also, oddly coincidental: both times my players have been traded, the Titans have been in on the negotiations and ultimately failed to pull the trigger. Intranquilo's deal ended up being a three way deal involving Helsinki, but I went to New York and Jeff Dar went to Helsinki. This time, it was a bidding war, one in which Helsinki stopped increasing their bids, apparently deciding that having picks is somehow better than beating your biggest conference rivals for a piece that could change the entire outlook of the conference. Cologne made the smart call, so it seems we'll be the favorites for the conference. I suppose no matter which way the deal went, I could say "we'll be the favorites for the conference" because a 767 TPE goalie with nearly 200 of that banked to stave off depreciation is enough to put either team over the top (and Cologne needed me less, with Olynick at least being active, a mile better than Salo), but I wouldn't have it any other way than to be on the Green team, pun intended (Green being on Cologne and all...).
  8. Brampton and Ottawa never faced each other in the playoffs in that span: That's because when I was winning cups with Ottawa, Brampton's GM was Meg. Half my team at least in the first cup run was built off of lopsided trades with said Brampton. I can't speak for the S-teens (not the GM), but S21 and S23 cup wins were directly due to making Brampton weak.
  9. Marcus Hurley Jarome Iginla Kez Kincaid Those are the captains that need to be on the list, as well as my votes.
  10. See Greg, told you we had one big trade asset
  11. Fuck Liverpool. Especially if she is Liverpool
  12. Calgary has one huge trade asset
  13. Keep where you are for now, give them another year or two past what you're signed for, then if nothing, maybe ship off toward the end of your career somewhere. You guys have a lot of good pieces, just so happens that one of them isn't goalie, unless Okranitz becomes that guy.
  14. he said in the draft
  15. Have you ever even been a wrang?
  16. I'll pronounce it on air and record it, then post the pronunciation clip in the creation thread, but even then I know by picking such a name there are some people who'll still continue to get it wrong, and that's just the risk you take.
  17. Oh and as for pronunciation (and I'll put this again in the creation thread in a little over a season) it's KEAR - co HOO - ver - en - en
  18. Yes, 2003-04 season. Ricky Manning Jr with the 3 picks in the NFC Championship.
  19. Pori, Finland - Reports out of Pori reveal that young superstar defenseman for the Ässät, Kerkko Hyvärinen will entertain thoughts of leaving his beloved Finland for the major international professional league, the VHL. Whether Hyvärinen is skilled enough yet to do this remains to be seen, as the Ässät finished a rather poor 12th last season with Hyvärinen, after winning the league in 2013 without him. Still, he has shown a great deal of skill, and the losses incurred by the Ässät roster shouldn't be held against the young player. As for Hyvärinen himself, he is a defensive defenseman, he has a strong physical aspect to his game and isn't afraid to check players and give big hits, even if it lands him in the box. His passing is superb for a player of his age but his scoring leaves a lot to be desired. Fortunately for Hyvärinen, this is a niche that the VHL doesn't have many of, and so he could potentially land quickly. Unfortunately for the Ässät, that lends some level of credence to the rumors.
  20. Not currently. I remember some site speculating about it back when Spygate was more of a thing, but even then it was never proven, just the fact that in the first half, both teams were doing well defensively and couldn't figure it out offensively. Scoring-wise, the second half wasn't that much better than the first, but yards-wise, New England was suddenly able to do things when they weren't in the first half, and it seemed very shady with regards to that particular game and how drastic the contrast was, which just snowballed once it was known that Spygate was a thing. At the time, this article (not ESPN, neutral site unaffiliated with either side but some off-brand site, maybe Bleacher Report or something, but several years back) pointed out a bunch of things, each of which individually could be coincidental, but all at the same time just seemed too much. This far after the fact though, I doubt they even still have it, let alone am I bothered enough to go look for it. It's not like anything now would change the result then anyway. Even if something came out tomorrow specifying exact plays and exact changes made by having videotaped exact situations prior, it still wouldn't do anything.
  21. They hate us cause we videotaped them in the Super Bowl 11 years ago, making adjustments at halftime with the videotape we illegally had on them. Despite that, it took their kicker putting it out of bounds for us to beat them, even with the videotape, even with the "superior team" FUCK THE PATS. That is all.
  22. Should have had Marcellin
  23. I will select him at 15th, if somehow he is still there
  24. Funny part is I actually do take these into consideration to some degree. I follow the VHLM more than most, I mean I write for VHLM mag, but there is a part of these that saves me a little time.
