Only just saw COD Infinite Warfare trailer recently....haven't played since Modern Warfare 2 but.....is this a sci fi shooter now?

Sort of? I don't know I haven't seriously played one since Black Ops 3 and even by then I was done. But having followed some of them they went pseudo sci fi high tech with mech suits n stuff, and now are robots. But I believe Infinite Warefare goes straight to space. When it goes on sale I may get it, people seem to say the campaign is good and I have no interest in the MP in a post Overwatch, Titanfall 2 Destiny world. But a 6 hour campaign with cockpit sequences, more of an open world, side missions, fleet commander with Jon Snow as the main villain? Sure I'll play that for $20. :P

That moment you think you can find CoD for $20 :P Also, did you mean BO2? BO3 was last year so not exactly like you've been removed long haha.

So far the campaign is very very good. They put a lot of work into the characters and it really shows. Zombies is actually surprisingly fun as well, and that's from someone who has hated Zombies recently. MP is okay (If you'd like to see some of it,might Insuggest watching the CoDCast :P) but doesn't feel like it had the polish I would expect. The map design isn't very good, you die really quick and variants can come off as kinda BS. It's not terrible, I like it more than Ghosts,  it it isn't the best they've done by far.

Your right it was BO@ I was thinking of thanks. Which is a bit longer. TBH I played way less of that than original BO, and it was pretty much MW and MW2 that were my big time sinks. I heard a few people say the MP wasn't as polished as well so it's a weird thing. Also weird how campaign seems to be the best thing they put out this year, but kind of a nice change of pace. To be honest I really think a smart strategy for them going forward would be to release a new one ever year with just a campaign, and turn the MP into a platform and just release new maps for it/with it as they release nwe campaigns. But I don't know that ship has probably sailed. This year we've seen a bunch of solid MP shooters not named CoD and a lot of them have hit on.

Did you end up getting the ultimate edition? I'd be interested in seeing that MW MP again on a potential CoD cast.

CoDCast #19 has MWR MP :) I can probably do more in the future though; especially if I get some questions :P

@Mr. Power Not sure if you've seen the new update for Overwatch yet, but I've played a bit of it and it's very cool indeed. Haven't had a chance to play as Sombra yet, but from my fights against her, she certainly doesn't seem to be overpowered, although that could be more down to people getting used to her. The new 1v1 and 3v3 arcade modes are cool as well, and like the fact that they've now got mystery heroes (probably my favourite of the brawl modes) as a permanent fixture.

She seems to be a little OP right now much like other characters that Blizzard opens up with...  however I have yet to see Samuro get nerfed in HOTS so I should be a little hesitant to assume that they'll level the playing field with her ;)

I plan on checking it out once I get a new controller. I pretty much can't play anything intensive anymore except NHL because of how messed my controller is. Notice it on everything now though, as my left joystick remains fucked.

Yeah, I'll be getting a new one in the near future as well. That R2 problem I was having with GTA/Sleeping Dogs hasn't crept into Overwatch yet, but obviously I'd want to get it sorted before it becomes an issue for that (Not that it would be a huge issue for Overwatch though since I seem to remember they're very good with different button configs)

I'd prefer that problem because at least things are playable. But the movement speed I get from hitting up on the left stick is basically gone. I go at a snails pace, even in No Mans Sky I try to sprint but you have to continually hold forward for sprint to stay active, and while I am holding up it doesn't register as such and I crawl to a hold again. Once I get a new one I plan on binging through Doom. It really sucks though, because I have these games I want to play sitting there and they are basically unplayable. :P

I'm really enthused with Final Fantasy Brave Exvius on mobile right now. It's a little grindy, but that's kind of every Final Fantasy game ever, and it's not P2W.

I think most of you guys have played it but I haven't so if anyone else is curious "Life is Strange" Episode 1 is going free starting today: http://www.lifeisstrange.com/free/uk

I bought that game a while back. Was going to play it - it was between XCOM and Life Is Strange, now that I've finally finished Witcher 3  and Shadow of Mordor.

Yea, XCOM is freaking brilliant! But it's taking over my life.

So Let It Die is a crazy neat awesome thing that is free to play on PS4. It's made by Grasshopper, who if your unfamiliar are the No More Hereos devs (as well as a litany of other anime ass games). It's very interesting, especially since it's free but it almost ties the free to play mechanics into the base of the game. It's a third person action thing that plays kind of like a mix of Dark Souls and a more Diablo approach with the hack and slash. It's "set" in...well I don't know. Because this thing is all about perspective twists. The part you play in, is a weird horror ass endless tower of hell at the center of a ruined apocalyptic civilization. However there is a Grim Reaper with a golf club on a skateboard who skates around and acts are you guide. And then you can actually straight up perspective shift no loading screens out at a point in a hub room to be in an arcade where the game your playing is just a game, and the arcade is as anime as hell.

Yeah. It's a weird thing, it's super crazy that it's free. But it's kind of funny that it's a sort of Dark Souls like rouge like that is free to play and charges you it's free to play tokens everytime you die. Like an arcade. You basically get Death Tokens and you can pay for them or slowly grind them in game, and when you die you can pay various fee's depending on your level and what floor of the tower your on to resurrect. But you could also not resurrect and play a new character as well to my knowledge so. I encourage people to check it out though, it's free and only like 24 gigs.

And just got my second platinum trophy on PS4 (first was Rocket League) rounding off everything in Final Fantasy XV. Whilst the final trophy was a 75 minute optional boss fight, the other trophies are pretty simple to acquire, so it's a pretty easy platinum.

I'm interested to see what happens with the changes they say they're going to make to one of the chapters in the story though (can't think of any other games that changed something partway through the story after the release of the game), got an older save right before that chapter so at least I won't have to slog through to get back to it.

What Chapter is that? I'm only like 4 chapters into the game as of now because I just want to run around the world hunting shit and doing some of the side stuff. I generally fill as much of that out before it essentially blocks you off.

Also Overwatch. I've been playing some NBA, some No Mans Sky (didn't check it out post update yet) and some FF15, but mostly....just Overwatch. The arcade is great, the weekly quest loot box system is great, the new modes are great, the x-mas event is great, I've even digging competitive (even though I constantly get teamed with people who I'd argue don't understand how to play the game, such is life). I obviously fell on Overwatch hard when it came out but the game has such legs. I left it for a few months and it just easily grabbed me back.

The chapter they plan on altering is Chapter 13, so it's some ways off for you yet.

That's the same way I approached the game as well, I did all but one of the side-quests that were available before the point of no-return, so my character was more than equipped for the main story.
