Can we add a column in the portal to say "active" or "inactive" if they haven't updated in since 2 weeks?

I'm referring to the GM only view under the "manage team" section so it would look like as follows:

problem is there's a bunch of different rules that make a player active/inactive in the M. for the VHL this would work wonders

yeah my thought was more or less like the basic claiming activity part, it's up to us as GMs to look further but it would be super helpful i think especially in the M.

Also, if a player is "active" then it will say, but then when we notice it goes red and inactive it can help us reach out and get them back or whatever (retention yo)

But how would you dictate it? By the rules it’s based on posting, not something the portal can read. Literally every off-season when we set the free agency we have to go through by hand and set all the actives.

I get the idea, I’m just not sure what criteria it’s working off of. Maybe if instead of active / inactive it showed their last update week and highlighted it red if it’s been more than like 3 weeks? That would likely be quite easy to code portal side.

I think that would be great

Yeah because nobody is active who doesn't update every two weeks....oh wait. :P

Well it wouldn’t be an indication of straight up activity at that point, moreso just an indicator of GM’s look quickly from info that could be easily pulled.

Let GMs set it then. Could be a solution, a reference for a GM than a real time (nearly) indicator at least initially until a definition of “active/inactive” correlates with any updates in the last two weeks for VHLM and month in VHL.

@Josh @Will how hard would it be to add this? I’d imagine pretty simple eh?

We could actually probably do it by last post using the Forum API if that is preferred to last update, whatever you want

Personally I think knowing when someone’s last update was is kinda more crucial information but I’ll leave it up to the GM’s to decide.

If we just scrap backclaiming - if something is not claimed one week after, the tpe is forfeited.

This will make the idea possible and the universe can rest again as certain people will not suddenly go over 1k tpe, not naming anyone in specific :D

I am working on some updates from January I guess I am inactive

That’s kinda why I prefer it as just highlighting the last update rather than saying inactive. Gives more information than just last post (also doesn’t need to update as often) but a GM can easily just look at the player and know if they are actually active or not.

I was under the impression you can't backclaim across the finance cutoff.

I've always done updates like once a season backclaiming a bunch

I doubt it should effect finances anyway since I'm at 628 tpa and would need to get up to 700 anyway

You can, but it would affect your salary if it bumped you up a bracket, so its not recommended.
