Season 72 VHL Draft Lottery

Date: Friday, May 8th, 2020

Time: 1PM EST (Give or take a few minutes)

Before we begin, a refresher on the Draft Lottery Rules:

Quote

The odds for winning the lottery are based on the VHL's regular season standings as follows:

12th Place: 30% ( :dav: )

11th Place: 25% ( :cal: from :hel:)

10th Place: 25% ( :dav: from :tor:)

9th Place: 20% ( :dav: from :nya:)

The maximum spots a team can move down is 1 spot. If the result of the lottery still allows teams to move down a maximum of one spot, there will be a second lottery for 2nd and/or 3rd overall. Effectively:

  • If 9th Place wins 1st Overall, the 12th-11th-10th Place teams each drop down one spot.
  • If 10th place wins 1st Overall, the 12th-11th Place teams each drop down one spot.
  • If 11th place wins 1st Overall, the 12th Place team drops down one spot, and there's a lottery between 9th-10th Place, to determine the 3rd Overall pick.
  • If 12th place wins 1st Overall, there is a lottery between the 11th-10th-9th Place teams. If 11th Place wins that lottery, there is a lottery between the 10th-9th Place teams to determine the 3rd Overall pick.

I'll be conducting the draft lottery with screen shots that have time stamps to show this was all done correctly. I will be using a Random Number Generator from 1-1000, with the winners determined as follows:

1-300: :dav:

301-550: :cal:(from :hel:)

551-800: :dav:(from :tor:)

801-1000: :dav:(from :nya:)

Should there be subsequent lotteries, the winning pick's number range will be deducted from the total, and the odds will be re-ordered accordingly.

i.e. If Davos wins with their own pick, the next lottery will be done 1-700, with the odds being split as 1-250/251-500/501-700.

With all that out of the way, here are the Draft Lottery Results:

Not making any accusations or anything but how are you going to use your windows system tray clock, which can be manually changed in about 3 seconds, as some sort of time stamp to prove legitimacy in this drawing? Not that your screenshot even remotely proves any legitimacy to begin with, since you can hit that 'Generate' button 30-60 times and still end up with your same 12:59pm screenshot.

This should have been streamed live with a VoD video viewable after the fact, if you at all care about people not questioning the legitimacy of the lotto. Again, not throwing out accusations or saying this is rigged, but you're leaving the door extremely open for these types of accusations.
