  1. Don't listen to 'em, I like the monochrome purple. Fo realz.
  2. If you deserve it, screw what people think.
  3. ...I just realized I already did a media spot this week, can I just claim this next week?
  4. Flip Adjusting Just 19 games into his first VHL season and Flip Rodriguez is already playing catch up. He got off to a very sluggish start posting just one point, an assist, throughout his first six games going -12 in the process. Even at the 13 game mark he was well behind his peers in just about every category except blocked shots. Going into his current six game point streak he had managed to only find the twine twice and only assisted on four goals. On his current six game point streak he has only one goal but six assists. He will need to continue this current point streak if he plans to make up any ground in the rookie point race. Speaking of, the rookie point race is pretty tight up top with several familiar names leading the way. Sir William Covington, love him or hate him, is in the lead by one point with 21, 11 goals, 10 assists for Davos. Tyson Kohler, Unassisted, and Black Velvet (surprise, surprise) are all tied with 20 points. Vincent Adultman, also of Davos has 17 points. David Hamilton, Kohler’s teammate, has 14 points, and Rodriguez after his recent surge has a respectable 13 points through 19 games. If one of the lower guys in the standings hits a hot streak, it could really shake up the landscape of the Rookie of the Year race. Despite Quebec City having two rookies in the top 10 in the rookie point race, they have struggled this season. With only five wins in their first 19 games, it appears they may be headed for another top draft pick in the next draft. During Flip’s six game point streak the Meute managed only two wins. It may be too late to turn it around but Felipe’s agent has informed me that he’s not going down without a fight. “We’ve spoken to management about getting Felipe on the top power play unit. We were told that was a change that could be made but we have yet to see it. If you look at his stats, he has 24 shots on the power play, that’s the most on the team. The man advantage is his bread and butter. Him and Sleeman on the back end of that power play unit would be dynamite. Someone’s gotta make it happen, and fast. The sooner he can get on that top unit, the better off they’ll be.” We expect to see Rodriguez paired up with Sleeman on the power play and Holmes bumped to the second power play unit. Before too long, Rodriguez might be full time defensive partner with Sleeman but that is an issue for another day. Flip likes the ice time, he played 2,188 minutes last season, second most in the VHLM behind Cian Mercer. Management should not be afraid to give him top pairing time as he’s shown he’s capable of producing when given the opportunity. This may be a storyline to follow if Flip doesn’t get on the top pairing soon, could it be a sign that QC is tanking yet again?
  5. Alright, guys, I now realize the error of my ways. Thanks.
  6. Is there any way that the powers that be can put a link to the VHL and VHLM index on the top of the page along with the Forums, Create Your Player, Rules, etc.? Just thought it might be easier to navigate to if we don't have to navigate to it at all. Here:
  7. Review: This is hilarious. I hope you continue with this. Also, great name. I only ever saw the last name in any other posts but now I get it. No grammar issues, great content, great article. Keep it up, man.
  8. Review: Great article. I still have no idea what's going on with your position and which team you're going to be on. Hopefully we have the chance to play together in QC though. Best of luck this season and with whatever happens moving forward.
  9. Review: I have no idea what I just read. It was interesting to say the least. Good article grammar-wise. No issues. Keep it up, I look forward to reading more of your stuff.
  10. Review: Good interview. No grammar issues. Don't worry about your stats. I had a horrible first year in the VHLM and then ended up 4th in points the next season. Just keep on keepin' on.

  12. Latino in the News: Adjusting to the Bigs It has been a very long time since we sat down with Felipe Rodriguez, now with the Quebec City Meute. Last time we spoke to him he was playing for the Saskatoon Wild of the VHLM. Since then he has been called up to the VHL to play on the second pairing for the struggling club. Last year he put up very good numbers coming in fourth overall in points behind current teammate Unassisted. He had a lot to build upon from last year and we’re looking forward to following his progress in the VHL. Interviewer: “What has been the hardest thing to get used to at this next level?” Flip: “I think it’s just the overall talent. Last year I was a big fish in a fairly small pond. This year, I just got released into the ocean and I’m not one of the biggest fish anymore. It’s been a learning curve for sure but I am adjusting well, I think anyway.” Interviewer: “You didn’t take home any hardware from the S47 VHLM Awards. Were you surprised by that?” Flip: “Not at all. Everyone who won was very deserving of their awards. I would have loved to get something but it just wasn’t in the cards. I need to focus all my attention on the future now.” Interviewer: “What do you expect from yourself personally this season?” Flip: “I think with my recent improvement on defense, I should be playing a more balanced game. Everyone gets all the accolades for putting up the most points, not for preventing the points to be scored. I like to think I can do both very well. I started the season off a little sluggish but I’ve picked things up recently. My promotion to first power play unit should also help me out. That’s the spot I like to be in.” Interviewer: “What about as a team? How do you think you’ll be this year as a group?” Flip: “Uhhh, do you want my honest answer? Probably not too well. We have several talented guys in key positions but we’re just not where we need to be to compete yet. I think another down year or two and we’ll be right in the thick of things. I wish I could sit here and tell you we have a chance to win it all this year but I just don’t think it’s in the cards. Not yet anyway.” Interviewer: “There’s a lot of hubbub surrounding a certain Titan Kronos that may or may not be Quebec City property. What can you tell us about that and what’s your opinion on the matter?” Flip: “I try to keep out of all the drama and media circuses that go on throughout the season. This one was a little more personal though since it directly impacted my team. I personally don’t think that they should be able to renege after they made their decision. But I also think that what was said by certain GMs also came off the wrong way and gave the wrong impression. Ultimately, I respect their decision and I’m just glad it’s behind us now. We can focus on the on-ice issues rather than be distracted by what’s going on off the ice.” Interviewer: “Well, that’s all the time we have for this interview. Any closing words for us?” Flip: “Thanks for taking the time to sit down with me. It’s been too long. One last thing…go Quebec City. Keep an eye on us, we’re making improvements and we’ll be competing sooner than you think.” Interviewer: “Alright, back to Maite Perroni in the studio.” (609 words)
  13. Try saying that now.
  14. Gotcha, I guess I never realized copying and pasting it was the issue.
  15. I copy and paste it, before I can even do anything, it pops it into that window.
  16. Yeah, I was just letting you know that it didn't make sense as it was. And I didn't know the situation to comment in detail about it. But like you said, I can't take points away for it, nor would I if I could.
  17. Review: I was hoping someone else would get to this first but alas, here I am. I actually enjoyed reading about these situations I was completely oblivious to. There was one point of confusion for me though, namely this: I'm assuming this was just an oversight and it was voiding Seattle's S46 2nd round pick. Other than that, very well written and described. I'm hoping this will be the last of these articles now. haha. Keep up the good writing, I guess if this is something you're interested in writing about, it makes for good articles.
  18. Review: Nice job with this article. I think in writing about Toronto you may have mixed words... I think it would be despite problems between you two, it seems like this is something that could happen? Otherwise despite is used wrong here. Other than that, the article was perfectly fine. No distracting grammar issues, nothing like that. Keep it up, I think I've noticed an improvement with some of the minor typos and all that stuff will just come naturally.
  19. Review: This was a good article. Unfortunately it sparked so much debate and gained so much negative attention for the both the league's initial decision and a GM's behavior regarding the decision. I hope for the best whatever ends up happening with this decision. You're going to be a great player so just keep it up, it won't matter where you end up playing, you'll be something special I'm sure.
  20. Review: Good insight into reviewing. I hope I'm not one with the hard to manage update threads. That shift+return doesn't seem to work for me though, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. It's nice to read articles about things that aren't necessarily centered around a made up player and actually the innerworkings of the league. Thanks for the look at updating.
  21. Review: This was a very well done article. I had no idea you did all that as GM. If I'm not mistaken, you didn't win the Grimm Jonsson Trophy but that's not to say you're a bad leader, voters may just be misinformed. Glad you're a part of this league and I hope some other GMs can maybe learn from this article. Thanks.
  22. Review: Nice write up, man. I'll be interested to see the future article about the World Cup. I have nothing negative to say about this article about future articles. I guess just keep up the good work and I'll keep an eye out for the upcoming articles.
  23. I don't know the history of this animosity towards brovy but you say in ranking QC that you're not a fan of obvious tanking but you just now said that he's not losing on purpose. Which is it? Lol
  24. Well, that fixed it... Didn't realize I had to actually refresh the page.
  25. Well not exactly but I've completely closed my browser and opened the page again. I'll check again.
