    EPISODE ONE - LET'S GET THIS THING STARTED!

     

    << Lot of changes for me, just ended my junior career. After a combine where I showed to the scouts what I can do on the ice, I got the call from the Philadelphia Reapers, he offered me a tryout for the remaining of the season. This league works differently than the others, I will have a tryout with this team until the end of the season/playoff. After that, I will be available for the VHLM draft. I like this, it gives me the opportunity to prove myself to this league. This should be interesting, I should play some decent minutes around the second or third line with another rookie that just joined. Like I said, I take this opportunity as a challenge, I want to prove that I can play in this league and even further in the VHL. Indeed, there is a lot of hockey to play If I want to achieve that, but I embrace this challenge. I see myself as a playmaking center, I'm pretty sure I can be valuable to this team even with my low to none experience. I want to thank my family for the support, all my coaches and all my teammates, you guys are a part of the reason why I'm here. All I can do now, is work my ass off both on and off the ice, and hope for the best, go Reapers.>>

    1)      The long season is coming to an end soon. How do you maintain your level of focus throughout the entire season?

    2)      With 10 games left in the season, the Reapers are currently in 7th place. What will it take for the team to hold on to their position and make the playoffs?

    3)      Lots of things outside the hockey rink can affect on ice performance. Do you have anything happening outside hockey that might affect your play, good or bad?

    4)      With COVID restrictions easing, fans are starting to be allowed into the arenas. What do you like most about having fans back at the games?

    5)      In a homage to Cricket, the VHL plans to introduce tea breaks into VHLM games. The home team gets to choose what tea to serve. What tea would you pick to serve to our opponents? It can be anything liquid.

    6)      The Reapers are looking into enhancing our players with cyborg parts. To become a better hockey player, what part of your body would you ask to be upgraded? Why?

     

    1 --> Well, I just joined, but as a sim league veteran, I think the main reason that keeps you motivated is the objective of winning a championship. 

    2 -> Maybe the addition of Cody Lachance ? Kidding, these last 10 games are super important, gotta give everything. 

    3--> No, Cody Lachance is all-about business right now. 

    4 -> It gives so much energy, the crowd is what giving us the energy to push to another limit. 

    5 -> Hum, I have no clue actually :') 

    6 -> Probably the core and the legs, better skating and balance!

    1. What is your favorite kind of food and why?

    I like the good old spagetti before the game, pasta are good for the energy. 

    2. Any thoughts on NHL 21?

    Be a pro is decent, far from My Career 2k, but still, they made some progress. Way to $$ tho. 


    3. Considering it's October and we're approaching Halloween, what's your favorite horror movie?

    The Conjuring, man this is scary. 

    4. What was your favorite brand thing to get as a kid trick or treating?

    Crunchiesssssssss


    5. Cake or Pie?

    Sugar Pie. 

    6. What's your message to the team to close out these finally weeks of the season?

    I'm new in the team, I would say finish strong and be ready for the upcoming draft.

    Zoom call with the French player, Alexis LePrince. 

     

    Host : Hey Alexis, thanks for giving us some time, how you doing today? 

     

    LePrince: I'm fine thank you. 

     

    Host: We just heard the news, you got a tryout for the remaining of the season in the VHLM, that's awesome! How do you feel about it. 

     

    LePrince: It's a great news yeah, I was happy to have the call from their office, it's a good opportunity for me to show my skills for the next VHLM draft. Unfortunately for a French hockey player, it's hard to have some visibility. That's why I'm the only French player in this draft class. No excuse tho, I will need to work twice hard to prove myself, I'm fine with that. 

     

    Host: For the people who don't know you, how do you describe yourself as a player. 

     

    LePrince : I consider myself as a Offensive Defensemen, who can distribute the ball while skating fast in both zone. The Europeen kind of play gives me the possibility to move and handle the puck more. However, I will need to improve my defense if I want to be drafted one day in the VHL. That's the goal to be honest. Next season will be the biggest hockey season of my young career, I'll need to perform If I want to improve my draft stock. 

     

    Host : Where do you see yourself in the VHLM draft? 

     

    LePrince : I see myself as a High Risk High Reward pick. With my lack of visibility from France and my lack of experience. I might end up a bust, but If I fall in a good lockerroom, with a good team that will help me improve, I have the potential to be one of the biggest pick of this draft.

    Firs thing first, thank you everyone for the offers, means a lot. I will focus on play time for my waiver year, to make it more exciting even if we are losing bunch of games. 

     

    Hope ill cross path with some of you in the following draft.

    I'm the GM of the Philadelphia Reapers. We just completed an extremely successful season capped by graduating most of our roster to the big league. That means we need new players! Thankfully, the Reaper organization can offer you all the time, attention, and care you need to grow Jacoby Buckfast into a legend. Thanks to our open roster we can shower you with more ice time than you know what to do with!
