The series against Chicago promises to be an interesting one, as the series is now at a 3-2 advantage for Chicago. Here are the summaries of the three games played in the interim.

    6-1
For the first time in these playoffs the Wranglers took the lead, when they defeated a desolate Chicago outfit 6-1. Phoenix' star-center Scotty Sundin opened the score with the only goal in the first period. The second frame was clearly Calgary's as Wolanin, Tessier, GoodBrandSun (with an 'AirRig-Special', i.e. a power play goal). The veteran back profited from a game misconduct call for instigating against Sundin. The Swedish forward dropped the gloves against Strasmore and won the fight, but lost the battle. Tessier with a brace shut completed the score for the middle third. Hattrick for the retiring Frenchman. We are three games into the playoffs and this is already the most goals the center has scored in a single post season ever. In the final period GoodBrandSun with an other one of his trademark power play goals accounted for the final score. Tessier (3g/0a), Janser (0g/4a) and GoodBrandSun (2g/0a) were named the three stars of the night. Dahl (.976) had the clear advantage over his opposite number Pearce (.870). The Wranglers' power play was decent (2/6) while the penalty kill was impeccable (3/3).
    Marcel was noted with 0g, 1a, +2 and 2sb.
Daniel had 0g, 4a, +2, 4 PIM (Hooking and Roughing, no change on the score), 7 hits and 57.14FO%.

    1-4
Back to square one after that match when Chicago beat Calgary in a 4-1 victory. After a goalless first period, Sundin broke the spell, Wolanin with a power play marker tied the game again, before Daniels scored a short handed goal. In the third frame, Nano with a pair of goals on the power play put the nails into the coffin.  The three stars were given to Nano (2g/1a), Pearce (26 saves) and Sundin.(1g/1a). Dahl (.895) had no chance against Pearce (.963) in the goalie duel. Calgary's power play was anemic (1/7) while the penalty kill just did not perform well at all either (2/4).
    Marcel had a 0g, 0a and -1 record.
Daniel achieved 0g, 1a, -1, 4 PIM (Hooking both times and both times the penalty was converted), 3 hits, 1sb and 40.00FO%.

    4-2
In a heartbreak match, the Wranglers lost game 5 to the Phoenix 4-2. The elder Janser brother was the first to score, while playing a man down (AirRig was serving a minor for Hooking). Nano caused an icing call and Dan won the face off in Chicago's zone. Via Jokinen and Wolanin the puck ended back with the Swiss Center who buried the disc top shelf. The second period started with an altercation between Wolanin and Johansson with an ambiguous result and both players sent to cool off for five minutes. Butts then scored on the power play (Dan was in the Sinbin) to tie the game. Bob brought Chicago ahead in the third, before GoodBrandSun marked a goal on the man advantage. Box with yet an other power play marker and Daniels into the empty net sealed the deal in favour of Chicago. Pearce (49 saves), Janser (1g/1a) and Box (1g/0a) awarded the three stars of the match. While Dahl's performance was not bad (.900), Pearce (.961) was dragging his team kicking and screaming across the finish line. Calgary's power play was decent (1/3) but the box play left much to be desired (2/4).
    Marcel left the ice with a 0g, 0a, -2 and 1sb record.
Daniel had 1g, 1a, +1, 2 PIM (Roughing, was converted), 3 hits and 42.50FO% to his name.

The Jansers show the following stats for this offseason:
    Marcel: 5gp, 0g, 2a, 2pts, -3, 4 PIM, 0 hits, 3sb, 0gwg, 0ppg, 0shg
    Daniel: 5gp, 2g, 9a, 11pts, +6, 12 PIM, 16 hits, 2sb, 0gwg, 0ppg, 1shg, 55.24FO%

Was this the begin of the end? Will the Wranglers recover from this blow to morale? Stay tuned for our update.

I am making a genuine application, I have spent over three and a half years and it is finally time I change my reputation around here. Over this time I have been punished, called a troll and I have been a nuisance to the VHL. I am willing to become a mod and able to take steps into improving myself, which will ultimately improve the league. I know my leash is tight, but sometimes you need to take off the collar to let that dog loose. And instead of going loose as I have previously, I will instead run loose on the evil going on in the VHL. It is my goal to make this league a better place for every single member, person, father, mother and family member who enters it. My availability is pretty well spread out. I have shown myself to be fairly active at nearly all times of the day. 1-9AM PST is not a perfect time zone for my activity, however I am sometimes available around 1-2AM PST and 6-9AM PST. I have been well known to quickly respond to DM's and pings, I have the notifications set on my phone and usually have discord open to hear any pings when I'm on my laptop. With these things combined, my activity levels should be well sufficient for a VHL moderator job. I am there very often, as well as a face the community knows and trusts to be there to help them.

While I do not reach the 20 years old age preference, I believe that I have showed maturity across my three years in the VHL. It is not always present, but it has been there and I will be continuing on with this maturity should I be blessed with the mod job, or should I not be blessed with it. Maturity is something which not only benefits me, but everyone in the league in which I interact with.  I believe with my level of maturity I will be able to sit down with the wrong doers of our league and figure out what can be done to not only improve the situation towards the league, but towards them. I want everyone to feel welcome here, while also making sure everyone is free. The VHL is one of my top priorities.

I do not currently hold any jobs in the VHL nor do I plan on holding any in the future that could possibly conflict with my ability to be apart of the mod team. I do see my future in the VHL as somebody the people can look up to and take inspiration from as somebody who turned themselves around from a path of dark and despair to one of a lighter road. I believe in rehabilitation for everyone, while punishments still necessary. It is my goal to improve the VHL, whether I'm a mod or not. Each member should strive for not only a better version of themselves every day, but a better league.

I thank everyone for reading my application, taking me into consideration, and I thank you for making the VHL a better place.

    1. Off season was solid, saw the Dragons retool a bit after losing big name guys in Peepants, Mourning and Idaho.  I am exciting to see how the team performs during my players final season.  Hope we can get it done!
    3. My first pick was Hard Markinson.  The perfect mix of points and hits and he has been a consistently safe pick each season.

Sigh. I guess, I'll admit, I've dropped the ball. It's been some time since I have posted on this site. A few months ago, quite honestly, I went through a physical injury which lead me to a mental health downfall. It's been a tough few months between juggling work, real life events and my injury. It doesn't help that there was also a lot of things in my life where I was already being affected mentally. The injury, while now I've officially been cleared as healthy again, had got me not moving as much. I stopped going outside, because I literally couldn't do it. I actually lazed on the couch, albeit maintaining my day to day 9-5. However, I wasn't going outside, I wasn't getting fresh air, my blinds were closed (yes theres clinical proof that literally sun will make you feel better), and I was stuck. Now, my mind runs at a million miles a minute. It didn't take long for me to feel depressed at all. Imagine feeling suffocated and then thinking about the worst shit that's ever happened to you before and the cycle.

It was terrible, and the first thing that suffered was my sim league players. Seymour Butts, my pride and glory, had to be sacrificed for my own mental clarity. I was mad and upset all the time. Seymour is meant to be a fun loving, jacked, GTL, and most importantly the protein fart king. Upon reflection, I feel like writing Seymours content was relieving to me at times. I mean, it sparked a creative juice in me that wasn't all bad. I feel like, if I did write content for Seymour every week during that short period in my life, I wouldn't have been so down bad. Honestly, coming up with Seymours antics takes a lot more work than it seems. I have to think of the most outlandish things throughout the week just to create his insane shenanigans. I mean, all of that just for 6 TPE, right? Well, as you can tell, this guy is more than just 6 TPE a week. He's a way of life, a calming presence in my life at minimum.

So, I've decided I'm going to be bringing back Seymour Buttocks man. My protein fart of a character thats been created. So, the protein farts will be back as of next week. It's about time Seymour starts putting his weight back into my life again and we start having some fun with Seymour. Now it's just time to come up with some insane stuff he's been doing over the past few weeks so that I can update ya. All I know is the next one is going to be a huge article for 2 reasons. 1st reason being that I'm celebrating my wedding (really its a 1st year anniversary but covid things) so I won't have much time over the coming month and 2nd reason being that Seymour has a lot to update you on.

Bring on the summer of 2022. Seymour is about to pop off.

    Hello everyone,

My amazing Co-Commish @fonziGGhas stepped away for the time being. So I am looking for a new partner in crime to help me run the World Junior Championship.

The preparation and running of the tournament lasts 2 weeks every season so I’d love to have someone who is committed to helping make the tournament the best that it can be each and every season.

No matter your experience in this league I encourage everyone to apply! I will be looking to hire someone ASAP.

    Sincerely,

fonziGG reacted to Gustav in SHL: Are They a Myth?
Honestly I feel like I remember hearing about them a LOT more when I started out here and in the S70s than I do now. I definitely explained (and had it explained to me) what the SHL is and generally how they work quite a few times...and I really don't see the topic coming up much anymore.

I'll say that a lot of the times I heard it brought up was in the context of "lol SHL is more toxic than we are", back when we went through our seasons-long "guys we're not that toxic" identity crisis during which we were admittedly more toxic than we are now (in my opinion). So that debate has kind of subsided.

I think the main reason for all the talk dying off is just that we've found out who we are and what we want to be as a community. When everyone talked about the SHL and tried to compare us to them, our numbers had just started to blow up. By the mid-S70s, our numbers had already blown up, we stopped caring about (being insecure about?) being a smaller community, and we were on to other things.

TL;DR: myths of the SHL's existence shall not go unpunished
