Dominus89 reacted to Elmebeck in Elmebeck calls out Halifax 21st players
The uncharacteristically vocal Swede, (D) Elmebeck, called out several players on Halifax 21st prior to the upcoming meeting in VHLM game #136.
"@SparrowLTD, @caltroit_red_flames, @Dtayl and @studentized will have no chance to get by me while I am on the ice. Also what's with eight right wingers on one team?! GM @Thranduil should probably look at adding a C or two too!"
While obvisouly tongue in cheek the young defenceman has been stirring up emotions between the two teams, interrupting a Halifax 21st press conference last week by waving a placard that read "Halisux 21st Dumb Street".
Halifax 21st and Houston Bulls are currently 4th and 5th respectively, with only two points separating them at this time - by game 136 they will both have played six more games.

Dominus89 reacted to InstantRockstar in Marlins Hold Hope For Strong Season
The San Diego Marlins knew what kind of daunting task was ahead of them the moment the off-season concluded. They had made strides to improve all areas of their team, including garnering a fierce top 6 forward core, adding also an outstanding top 4 defensive core and a guaranteed starter, however the start of the season has proved to be a hard one, but the team knew what was to come, as previously mentioned. However despite the losses, despite the opportunities slipping away in the early game, the whole team has remained optimistic, they are just happy to play. GM Zack Gagnon took to the podium releasing the following statement.
"While the minor leagues are all about developing players and just enjoying your time in the minor leagues, I know like anyone else, these kids dream and aspire to win, and want to go all the way. Our franchise shares these same dreams and aspirations and these kids have our utmost dedication and promise that we're going to do everything we can to help them flourish, prepare themselves for the future but most importantly enjoy their time here in San Diego."
When asked about the atmosphere in the locker room and the talks going on, he also commented:
"Without giving our secrets away (haha), we're having a good time, everyone is very active, social and hard working. These guys are dedicated to performing and really almost having fun with one another inside the LR and on the ice. I couldn't ask for a better crop of players!"
Time will tell if the San Diego squad can prove their dominance or if they will fail to being so far behind some of the other "super teams" but for now, they'll just enjoy having fun.

Dominus89 reacted to Greg_Di in Wroclaw Times - Eagles cleans out his locker
Final day for Eagles as a Marlin
Eagles will leave with lasting memories of San Diego
The San Diego Marlins were ousted from the 2019 VHLM Playoffs by the Halifax 21st and the players were at the Marlins Arena cleaning out their lockers today.
The second-seeded Halifax swept the Marlins in 4 games. This was the first ever playoff appearance for San Diego who did not perform to expectations. The Marlins will have to look to next season to try and achieve their first ever playoff win.
Marlins goalie Greg Eagles said it was tough to lose but that it wasn’t because of a lack of effort.
“There’s definitely times in the season when it was challenging to stay motivated or to give it 100% but I feel like I finished the season off, personally, on a good note” said Eagles “ but as for the playoffs, I think I could have definitely played better. I also think it takes a couple of days to settle in that were no longer playing hockey and that this was our last time playing together as a team. Obviously you’re kind of wishing you’re one of the teams that are still playing and vying for the cup. The initial blow when you’re out, you’re kind of in shock a little bit but I think after a couple days of thinking what went on, I think you realize we had a good thing going and couldn’t take advantage of that. I will always remember my time here in San Diego, we had a great group of players and I wish them all the best in the draft”
Eagles said San Diego was playing their best hockey in the first half of the season but the second half and heading into the playoffs the Marlins just couldn’t get it done.
“Reality is they were a better team and they deserved to win, They definitely were on of the favorites to win it all” he said. “I always want to be a guy to make a difference in net and for my team and when you can’t do that and have a terrible game one where we lost 8-1, it can weigh on you and like I said, I wanted to be that guy that can be counted on and produce and help the Marlins advance, unfortunately that did not happen. It would have been great for this group to get San Diego their first ever playoff win, and we definitely came close in those 2 overtime losses but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be”
We here at the Wroclaw Times have followed the team throughout the whole season and it is very unfortunate how it ended. We now shift focus to the upcoming draft as we await and see where Greg Eagles will go. Many rumours are suggesting late 2nd or early 3rd round for the netminder due to a low need for goalies in the VHL currently. That being said Greg will be a steal at that round as he has shown improvement week in and week out.
“You know, to me it doesn’t matter where I go. I fully expect to be a backup for the first 1-2 seasons. I just want to be given a chance and an opportunity to prove myself”

Dominus89 reacted to InstantRockstar in Au Revoir
Did I scare you? Good. I'm not here to announce I am leaving, don't worry. Rather, closing a chapter in my GM career I always hate to do, saying goodbye to those leaving for various reasons, whether it be to their respective VHL teams or going into the draft next season. In San Diego, we made it a mission to keep our players as happy as we could from start to finish of their careers with us, and the following players we're sadly losing after the playoffs:
Lincoln Tate
Edgar Tannahill*
Phil Marleau
Greg Eagles
Pierre Persson
Rhys Chism
Ryszard Franciszek
Andrej Petrovic
Charles Drumm
Dalton Wilcox
Sean McGee
When you look at this list, you think...wow. San Diego is going to be a whole different team next season, and sadly we are. I do have questions if Edgar (Greggreg) will be going up as he's not been all that active sadly and hasn't updated in ages, which could be a good thing for us, but maybe also a bad thing? If he comes back, he's 100% gone. As for the others, in one way or another, whether being called up or going into the draft, we're losing a lot of the guys that were able to make history for us. They've had the absolute pleasure of making history here, and I've had the pleasure of GMing and coaching every single one. They've been nothing but a pleasure to spend time with through this season, and I'm genuinely going to miss having you all on our team. One team, one dream, always a Marlin ❤️

Dominus89 reacted to Jayrad28 in San Diego Marlins Breakdown
The San Diego Marlins have been a dominant offensive force this season. With one of the best d and Center groups in the league and led by offensive juggernaut Edgar Tannahill, this team has proven time and time again how dominant they are.
In the expansion draft the Marlins draft picks looked like this
1st Round – 5th Overall: C - Phil Marleau
1st Round – 10th Overall: LW - Edgar Tannahill
2nd Round – 15th Overall: G - Greg Eagles
2nd Round – 21st Overall: D - Samuel Sparrow
3rd Round – 27th Overall: RW - Andrei Mikhailov
3rd Round – 32nd Overall: D - Dean Clarke
4th Round – 43rd Overall: LW - David Clarkson
5th Round – 54th Overall: C - Scotty BigShotty
6th Round – 65th Overall: LW - Lexington Lewis
7th Round – 76th Overall: D - Taylor Budwaisor
8th Round – 87th Overall: C - Ludvig Sederstrom (No longer with the team)
Overall the Marlins were always looked st being one of the better expansion teams and now they are showing everyone why.
Draft Picks
5th overall-Phil Marleau @Phil
Marleau has been the fearless leader for the Marlins this year, and I underlined fearless because he’s currently 2nd in the league in hits. He also has a very respectable 17 Goals and 27 assists, after a slow start he’s been the dominant number 1 Center and Captin they needed
10th overall-Edgar Tannahill @Greg_Di
The offensive dynamo and team Canada rep for the Marlins, Tannahill is the spoon that stirs the drink for the Marlins. He has 26 Goals and 23 assists so far for 49 points in 39 games. Not too bad if I do say so myself.
15th overall- Greg Eagles @gregreg
Eagles has been a brick wall for the Marlins. Game in and game out. the polish netminder has been dominated and will be the backbone of this team down the stretch.
21st overall -Samuel Sparrow @Birdman
Sparrow has been a dominant top pairing defenceman for this team. 32 points is very solid for a workhorse defenceman who, earlier in the season before the Marlins added some defence, was playing over 30 minutes a night.
27th Overall - Andrei Mikhailov @Big Mac
After a rough start to the season, Mikhailov has shown to be dominant top line forward. He struggled to score at first but had picked it up and has a very solid 18 points.
32nd Overall-Dean Clarke @Kyle
Another workhorse defenceman for the Marlins, while Clarke hasn’t been flashy offensively his 2way game has been on full display for the Marlins this season. A smart lark moving defenceman that can join the rush is something any team will take.
43rd Overall- David Clarkson @Jacob Kundrat
A very solid top 6 winger, Clarkson has played very well. He currently sits 4th on the team in scoring with 17 goals and 18 assist. Another highly potent peice to the Marlins.
54th Overall - Scotty @FerdaJets
Another Dominant Center, Scotty has been solid, Rotation the 2nd line and playing very well. He started off his season a little rough but has shown lately he has what it takes to be a dominant top teir center.
65th Overall- Lexington Lewis@Lexlooter
Hasnt seen much action. But has been solid in limited time and as a penalty killer.
76th Overall: D - Taylor Budwaisor @AnthonyOuellet
Mostly played season as 7th defenceman. Seen limited time for the team with emergence of young defenceman.
The rest of the team has been filled out by signing’s. Most of which have been very impactful.
Dalton Wilcox @Dalton Wilcox
Another top 6 Winger, has been very solid for the Marlins.12 Goals and 19 assists. He has been more then great in that second line.
Alex Pearson @Jayrad28
Pearson has been very good for the Marlins. When you have 3 dominant offensive Centers that can munch minutes it’s a good problem. Pearson has improved as the season goes on and cure has 14 goals and 11 assists.
Lincoln Tate @Lincoln Tate
The Marlins golden boy.Tate has 10 goals and 43 assists in 39 games so far this season. He has been dominant on that power play unit. He is going to be very dominant force on that blue line.
Ryszard Franciszek @ItssYoBoiDaLegend
Another dominant defenceman for the Marlins, Franciszek has been a solid shutdown hard hitting defenceman. He also had a hat trick in his first career game.
Pierre Persson @Dominus89
The number of quality defenceman the Marlins have is unfair. the smooth skating puck moving defenceman has 5 goals and 23 assists so far this season. He’s been another very solid signing.
Nick Kirkpatrick @Nick Kirkpatrick
A solid depth forward and penelty killer. Has been solid in limited games for the marlins.
Sean McGee @Strooper99
The young goalie had been eyeing his first start this season, but had been a Good locker room presence and has shown some solid growth. Will be a starting goalie in the near future for sure
Charles Drumm @frescoelmo
Drumm has only played 7 games but has been solid and looks to build on that going forward. He dosnt have a point yet but he’s come close and it looks like it’s coming.
The Marlins have a great young team and one of the deepest defence in the league. If they can continue this upward momentum and growth there is no reason they can’t do real damage in the playoffs.
