Midnite reacted to diacope in Best Shootouts of the Regular Season
Everything is pretty much the same as last season but I added a new section called the best duels where I saw highlights of players and/or goaltenders fight it out for the win instead of one player taking over the shootout. Thanks for tuning into another addition of the best shootouts of regular season. Started on Monday and did a few each day to keep it creative and made sure I fixed all my mistakes before posting it, added in a few more things after for the cherry on top.. Hope you all enjoy!

    --> Best Goaltenders 🥅

     Grekkark Gyrfalcon
Game 149 - London United vs. Prague Phantoms
Starting off hot with a gigantic blocker save on the first shot and a booming slapshot save downlow with the second, Gyrfalcon stands up for the last shot against a defenseman's dangle and stretches the pads out for an easy toe save which gives his team the sure victory in the shootout.

    Ajay Krishna
Game 181 - Warsaw Predators vs. Vancouver Wolves
Krishna covers up any empty spaces and stands strong against the Wolves with three straight saves after a Aloe Dear go ahead goal at the beginning of the shootout, thanks to his quick hands using blocker a couple of times and stopping any comeback chance with a fancy glove save.

     John Pierre Camus
Game 367 - Chicago Phoenix vs. New York Americans
Recovering from being outplayed in the first round Camus shows his goaltending abilities stopping a hot shot from Red Lite gloving it on the line and stops another two after that with the stomach, giving plenty of chances for his team to finally score the extra point determining marker.

    Kevin Malone
Game 397 - Moscow Menace vs. Chicago Phoenix
After getting fueled from getting the lead Malone flashes the leather with a top of the crease glove save leaving him on his butt, stops another with the pads downlow against a quick dangle and easily poke checks the third shot to win the game for his team.

    Ajay Krishna
Game 514 - Warsaw Predators vs. Seattle Bears
Talk about standing on your head, after totally missing the puck on the first shot we see Krishna turn on beast mode and stops a flaming wrister from the middle of the crease with a kick save, stops the puck on the line with the blocker hand after a fantastic move on the next shot and saves the puck with his helmet in the final round to get his team the win in the shootout.

     Aksu Maronen
Game 531 - HC Davos Dynamos vs. Seattle Bears
The only backup goaltender to get a shutout in the shootout this season was Maronen and he did it in style stopping shots against some of the best skaters shootout performers,, using his long legs and staying patient with the puck we see a huge pad stack against the first shooter, smothers the next with a bear hug and slides across the crease to stop the last shot with his toe.

     Grekkark Gyrfalcon
Game 542 - Prague Phantoms vs. Los Angeles Stars
He does it again but this time he uses a nasty glove hand to stop any chances from the Stars on all three of their shots in the shootout and secures the win for his team after going ahead on the first shot.

    --> Best Duels ⚔️

LW Ryan Schwarz, D Chicken Wing, G Thadius Sales | G John Pierre Camus, LW Robin Winter
Game 52 - Chicago Phoenix vs. New York Americans
Starting things out for his team with a tremendous blocker save Sales gives Schwarz a head nod and with a slick move passed an outstretched goaltender, he skips the puck over the leg and just over the line, after the goal he gives a big smile to the whole Phoenix bench. Not getting bother from the other teams gestures Winter strides straight down the middle and backhands it under the goalie for the tie, stepping up after a rough start a tired Pierre Camus locks in and stops three straight shots, two with the glove and hugs another giving his team a chance to win while Sales trades saves with couple of his own, motivating the Americans who end the night with the extra point after a top of the crease slapshot by Wing finds its way through a backed up and butterfly ready Pierre Camus.

RW Onde Sandstrom, D Barron Kruulenstien, C Jivere Zolnek, G Markus Emerson Jr. | D Alex Letang, C Jay Jones, G Stone Wolski
Game 205 - D.C. Dragons vs. Vancouver Wolves
Vancouver starts things out with a Emerson Jr. save after he fumbles the puck but comes up big using his stick swiping it out of the crease, coming off the bench with a ton of relief we see Sandstrom take the puck, stick handles it slowly and snaps a shot top shelf for the go ahead goal, a few rounds go by with Wolski making a couple of pad stacking saves to keep his team in it for the third shot and defender Letang steps up for his shot, takes a few steps and launches a slap shot toward the net, initially the puck is stopped with the pads but it bounces up and under the glove which knocks it into the net for the tying goal bringing the shootout into the sudden death rounds. A few misses and another Wolski glove save later we see both teams score with goals from Zolnek and Jones who both chose to shoot under and over the blocker, the night ends after the Dragons miss their next shot and a confident Kruulenstien decides to keep it original, launching a wrist shot going right toward a ready glove hand, blasting it past the slow reacting goaltender for the win.

G Grekkark Gyrfalcon vs. D Latrell Mitchell, G Thadius Sales
Game 430 - Prague Phantoms vs. New York Americans
Right from the beginning of the shootout Gyrfalcon and Sales flex hard stopping 6 pucks with their pads downlow, both goaltenders have chuckle going into the fourth final round but it was Sales with the only four straight save effort this season to keep his smile as Gyrfalcon met his match against an unfazed Mitchell skates in close to the goaltender with his shot and evades the poke, keeps it on his forehand and slides the puck in for an easy game winner, flinging it inside the open net.

C Pistil Stamen, C Jeffrey Pines, D Roque Davis, G Doug Dimmadome | G Ajay Krishna C Dakota Lamb, RW Lexi Glass
Game 560 - Los Angeles Stars vs. Warsaw Predators
It started off with a few early goals from snipers Pines and Dear scoring snap shots into the netting, right after that Stamen strikes by dangling with speed and dancing it into the net to give his team the lead, during the next shot Dimmadome keeps his team in it with an excellent glove save giving teammate Glass the opportunity to tie it up, she scores a slap shot sparking Krishna to give it his all with the next shot, he closes the legs and the puck stays under him for the save, ending the night with a horrible chance the Predators miss and Davis copies Glass, he shoots a rocket through the five hole to get the lead for the third time in the shootout, Dimmadome with the game in his hands again turns a weak dangle attempt aside and the nail biter ends in the Stars favor.

    --> Best Goal Scorers 🏒

C Phoenix Dawson, RW Gunnar Odinsson, C SS Hornet | RW Lee Xin, LW Robin Winter
Game 94 - Toronto Legion vs. Chicago Phoenix
Both teams showed up to this contest and almost every player had a trick in the bag. Starting off with the first goal we see Dawson skate down the right lane slowly and when he gets to the bottom of the dot he switches things up by skating to the left side as fast as he could, beating the goaltender and scoring an easy slide in goal to start things off, up next Winter scores a beautiful and well executed dangle down low, shooting it under the blocker with a backhand shot, in the third round Odinsson and Xin blast the puck past the goaltenders at whopping speeds giving zero chance of a save up close but it was Hornet that won the game with an excellent move by skating in, almost stopping and flipping it over a sprawling goalie for the shootout win.

C Valtteri Vaakanainen, RW Patrik Laine
Game 113 - London United vs. Helsinki Titans
Vaakanainen and Laine end the shootout with quick goals and leave no chance for a United comeback, first up we see a fast snapshot that heads upstairs, ringing around the net and the game winner that almost made blooper reel footage had a confused Laine skating in using the wrong stick but gets all the puck with a hard slapshot into a stretched netting.

     LW Nicholas Sunderbruch
Game 259 - Malmo Nighthawks vs. Toronto Legion
Sunderbruch ends the shootout with a silenced crowd after he strides in slow, does a 360 and quickly dangles it into the net with a backhand finish, leaving a frustrated Nighthawk to try and tie things up but the goalie easily pokes the puck away and the Legion win the duel.

C Pistil Stamen, C John Merrick, LW Jonas Stormsson | RW Gary Rush, RW Patrik Laine
Game 253 - Helsinki Titans vs. Los Angeles Stars
After a few saves from the netminders in the first round, Laine fakes a couple of slap shots and puts the puck through the legs, Stamen responds with a wrist shot upstairs, in the third round Helsinki gets the lead again after Rush quickly moves in and slaps it under the blocker, not giving up a more than ready Merrick ties it up again scoring the fourth straight goal after completely undressing the goaltender with a slow and steady dangle, the one who ends it though was a not so known Stormsson who lifts the puck over a down and out goaltender and into the top of the net.

C Isabella Campbell, C Venus Thightrap
Game 260 - Malmo Nighthawks vs. Seattle Bears
da BeArz come into the shootout with tons of gas left in the tank and they made sure it was empty by the end of the shootout, skating in first, Campbell goes in from the left side and heads to the right, fakes a forehand, backhand shot and she slides it through the five hole, looking at the next shot and the shootout ender, Thightrap comes in with a ton of speed, passes it to her skate, fakes a shot and kicks it back to the stick for a snapshot that gets past the pads of sitting and overworked standing goaltender for an easy extra point.

LW Aloe Dear, C Dakota Lamb
Game 280 - D.C. Dragons vs. Warsaw Predators
After re-watching this one we see Dear go in and attempts a wrist shot but gets steered out of route from a high sitting goaltender, making quick adjustments and switching it to the backhand, Aloe chucks the puck into the far side of the net against the butterfly, on the next shot Lamb fakes a backhand shot, lifts the puck over and off the back of the confused goalie to help earn his team another point in the standings.

    C Paul Atreides
Game 335 - Riga Reign vs. Moscow Menace
Both teams go in with the rubber and completely miss the net with their shots, after a stop from his team on the second shot, Atreides scores a beautiful goal after losing space on the side of the net but reaches his stick past the pads and taps it in just before hitting the goaltender, knocking the net backwards with them in it, after the instant replay, GOAL IS GOOD BEFORE CONTACT!

LW Dominic Gobeil, LW Thomas Landry II, LW John LeClair II
Game 351 - Prague Phantoms vs. Moscow Menace
Sticking to the game plan and defeating the other team without any hesitation, Gobeil, Landry II and LeClair all get the puck across the line with quick hands to beat the back up goaltender who didn't face any breakaway plays during the season until this shootout.

    RW Lexi Glass
Game 396 - Warsaw Predators vs. D.C. Dragons
Slowly skating in and taking her time, winger Glass waits for a hole to open up and chips the puck toward the five hole, a lucky bouncing puck gets through the legs and over the red line, scoring the only goal and game winner.

LW Aloe Dear, C Dakota Lamb
Game 505 - Riga Reign vs. Warsaw Predators
Doing it again with a quick finish in the extra round of hockey, Dear cradles the puck and rips it past a out of position reaching glove with the first puck and Lamb comes in with an even better move, putting the puck through the legs, catching it with the backhand and shooting over the right pad downlow.

     LW Rocket
Game 547 - Warsaw Predators vs. HC Davos Dynamo
During this shootout it's a deadlock until we see Rocket step up for his chance to get the lead and he doesn't make any errors while trying to solve the goaltender, switching from a wind up slap shot, dangle downlow and finally chooses to flip it up under the armpit for a beautiful shootout finish.

     LW Miles Johnson
Game 562 - HC Davos Dynamo vs. Chicago Phoenix
This time around the starting goaltender gets injured and a fan comes in and fills the spot, he starts things out with a couple of saves against the better shooters on Davos but it was a rookie named Johnson who would be the only scorer after beating the random with a well timed backhander through the standing goaltenders legs to earn his team the extra point versus a better opponent.

    --> Longest Shootouts ⏲️

Los Angeles Stars vs. Prague Phantoms
    Game 105
10 rounds went by during this match and neither goalies were giving up against any of the shooters making 10 saves along the way and showed the crowd their abilities to make quick maneuvers, smart positioning in the crease and an excellent reading of the puck, it started off with momentum on the Phantoms side as Grekkark Gyrfalcon sprawls around to make a couple of saves in the first two rounds and Thomas Landry II scores a goal for his team, things would change after one of the better shooters in Los Angeles ties it up and their goaltender adjusts in net leaving us with a goaltending battle all the way into the 10th round where we see a BOT win the game for the Prague Phantoms.

    Prague Phantoms vs. Riga Reign
    Game 115
It might not be the longest longest but it was an entertaining seven round duel where we saw huge saves and highlight reel goals, to start things off we see a couple of goals from both teams who easily solved the opposition with wrist shots, next up we saw Thomas Landry II bury the puck five hole and a smothering save by Gyrfalcon to give the Phantoms the lead, after that it was Riga's time to shine as Calvin Harvey steps up and robs John LeClair II of any chances with a poke check, DaMoose with a little momentum after the poke we see a forehand backhand top shelf ringer to tie things up, in round four both teams get on the board again, easily skipping the puck past tired netminders but they were the ones to step up and keep it going for the next few rounds making saves against goal scoring threats, at the end of the game it was the Phantoms with enough bench left to take better high percentage shots against the bot players the Reign had left, giving them the victory.

    Malmo Nighthawks vs. Moscow Menace
    Game 200
In the longest shootout of the regular season where we saw eleven rounds, fifteen goals scored, every water bottle empty plus an audience standing until the final buzzer, both teams collide for one of the most exciting sudden deaths to date, seeing it tied up all night not knowing who would win, watching hilarious goaltending blunders and a fair amount of highlight goals from the cast of shooters assembled, a sure memory for MuffBeav, Atreides, Walkers, Newhook, Marsh, Glass, A Nighthawk Bot Defender, Tristan, A Nighthawk Bot Center, Angellini, A Nighthawk Bot Defender Again, Taylor, Kamenov, A Menace Bot Defender and Grapes who ended the night with the fifteenth goal, on the other side of things neither goaltender did very good only making a combined 5 saves along the way.

    Warsaw Predators vs. Calgary Wranglers
    Game 315
Starting with great goaltending and ending with a slew of goals, the Wranglers rise and defeat a shootout threat after 10 rounds, making a huge saves against the leagues best players and getting the lead early in the shootout we see Askarov continue that trend stopping big shots all the way into the ninth round, during this display he gives up a bad goal against a bot but thankfully his team gets a marker right after, he regains composure again and makes a huge flying leg save, stopping the puck from entering the top of the net, after that it was history when depth player Mikey Harris tries a wrist shot attempt and fans on it, sliding with not a lot of speed the puck reaches the crease and the goaltender kicks the puck into the net.

Midnite got a reaction from animal74 in Mississauga Hounds Press Conference
    1) How are you feeling about the team's chances for next season?
Pretty confident honestly. We'll be coming as an overall improved team.
    2) What's the typical day in your player's life look like?
Early morning workouts, some gaming and chilling with friends followed by an some evening training.
    3) What's your jersey number? Is there a reason for it?
    32. No reason aside from being a favorite number of mine.
    4) Why did you pick the position you did?
Honestly felt like there was a lack of LWs in the league
    5) Which Hounds player do you think will have the best VHL career?
    Probably Druss Deathwalker
    6) Any playoff surprises for you so far? Who's going to win between Mexico and Houston?
Looks like i'm a little late to this as Mexico won. Can't say any of the results surprised me.

Midnite reacted to Ricer13 in Ricers VHL Round 1 Mockdraft
I am bored and you can not have to many mock drafts. Enjoy!

    1. Moscow

The 1st overall pick has been recently acquired by Moscow in a deal that sent Roque Davis to Los Angeles. There are number of players that could go here as the Moscow Alum is strong. You’ve got Hatter, Telkster and even Ricer to name a few. Ultimately however I see Moscow taking this player with the 1st overall pick.

    Paul Atreides @Mr_Hatter

    2. Davos

Davos has a plethora of young forward talent making the jump into Davos this season. Where they lack is on Defense. There are some top tier talent available in the first round but I think they pluck a defensemen right from the top of the pile and take...

    Reylynn Reinhart (Ricer13)

    3. London

London is an interesting one for me. I can not quite pinpoint where they are going to go with this. They are trying to manage cap issues which makes bringing another player is kind of challenging. However I trust they will make it work and will go with...

    Asher Reinhart @rjfryman

    4. New York

New York is another team I can’t quite pinpoint. The rumour mill mentioned they would be targeting a defensemen but they seem to have pretty decent depth on the bank end. I think they end up going with a forward here and take...

    Duncan Idaho @OrbitingDeath

    5. Malmo

There are a few really great options for Malmo here. Rumour has it they are targeting a defensemen here but with who’s on the board I can’t see them passing up on this top end forward who is also a great locker room presence.

    Brenden Telker @Telkster

    6. Toronto

Toronto is pretty well rounded with some great young pieces. They could look to take a D-man here but the core group they have now they might not want to mess with. I say they go with a forward and take one of the top centres in the draft.

    That Dude @Cornholio

    7. Calgary

Calgary is pretty full on forwards but is in need of a defensemen to step in right away to round out their young D-core. I do think they go with a defensemen here. I have pretty strong sources that indicate that is their move ;). With the 7th pick Calgary takes...

    Zeedayno Chara @Jubis

    8. Riga

Riga could go either way here. They have some solid young pieces throughout their line up but they also have some aging players who are getting close to the end of their careers. I think they go with one of the top wingers in the draft to step in right away by selecting...

    Druss Deathwalker @animal74

    9. Helsinki

Helsinki I think looks to shore up there defensive group. They already are pretty deep up front so it makes the most sense to me if they go with the top Dman remaining on the board.

    Aurelian Moreau @Frank

    10. Moscow

Moscow is back on the clock here and they really need to fill roster spaces all over the place. I do think they will pick from the defensive pool and take a player who is a solid earner and an active presence in any LR.

    Rolf Fizzlebeef Jr. @TacticalHammer

    11. Malmo

Malmo with their second pick of the first round looks to continue building on an already strong prospect pool. They went with a forward earlier so this time I think they take a defensemen who could step in after next season. This player has proven to be fairly active in discord and on the forum.

    Jan Hlozek @Bojovnik

    12. Helsinki

Back on the clock only a few picks later is Helsinki. I think they go back to a defensemen here to continue building upon their prospect pool.

    Nixon Caldwell @Kendrick

    13. Davos

Davos took the top defensemen in the draft earlier so I think they go with a forward with their next pick. This forward has shown to be a max earner week in and out which makes them a very nice target for Davos.

    Miles Johnson @Midnite

    14. Calgary

Calgary went with a defensemen with their first pick but do they look to continue to shore up their defensive pool? I think not, and that Ricer goes with some familiarity here and selects a member of the Miami Marauders.

    Trevor Wallace @LilHCorny

    15. Warsaw

Warsaw is finally making their selection in this draft. They have some aging forwards on the front end that’ll be retiring soon so I think they go with a forward here and select...

    Kyle Glass @Tbeez99

    16. Vancouver

I fully expect this pick to be traded. Vancouver has an absurd amount of forward prospects so if they take a player here it’ll be a defensemen and I think it’ll be..

    Hadrian @bluesfan55

Thanks for tuning this is. This was thrown together quick as hell.

Midnite reacted to Bobo in S76 VHL Mock Draft
    S77 VHL MOCK DRAFT:
Round 1, Pick 1: Paul Atreides (Hatter)

The first overall pick is something that every player who is eligible for being drafted aims for. Usually the first overall picked player becomes a legend in their own league, whether it be the National Hockey League (NHL), the major junior leagues, or our very own Victory Hockey League (VHL). In this case, I decided to select centerman Paul Atreides from the Houston Bulls for the first overall pick in the VHL Entry Draft. When looking at a player like Atreides, you would probably think something along the lines of, “The next big thing,” or the, “Potential greatest of all time from this draft.” For the people who said that, I agree with them. Not only did he put up a 106 (42G, 64A) point season, he led a team to the Founders Cup finals in the Bulls this season. A great leader and player all around, high in scoring (SC) and defense (DF); he is looking like a hall-of-fame caliber player.

Round 1, Pick 2: Duncan Idaho (OrbitingDeath)

OrbitingDeath’s right winger Duncan Idaho looks to be among the ranks of stardom with Atreides, being on the same team (the Bulls) and putting up 80 points (40G, 40A) in 72 regular season games. 302 shots and 40 goals proves that he is capable of finding twine night in and night out. His 80 SC and DF stat furthermore establishes his status as offensive powerhouse, with a scoring touch. He’s put up 270 hits this season alone, which is astounding, since he doesn’t seem like a physical player at all. That just proves how he can do everything on the ice, from scoring goals and passing, to hitting and playing defense. An all-around package, and he is very active, so he’s quite the talent.

Round 1, Pick 3: Asher Reinhart (rjfryman)

For the third overall pick, I predicted that centerman for the Bulls, Asher Reinhart would be picked by the London United. Reinhart’s offensive capabilities range out of just scoring and assisting on goals, he can shoot, and hit very well. He is also a superstar on the special teams, scoring 10 power-play goals (PPG) for the Bulls and scoring two short-handed goals (SHG) for them too. Being a true offensive threat, he put up a very nice 84 points (36G, 48A) in 72 games played this season, 295 shots and 107 hits. Being rj’s player, expect him to be at a TPA advantage over the other players in this draft, and to put up amazing numbers in his rookie campaign likewise. A great player, and a great guy, can’t wait to see him rock the league.

Round 1, Pick 4: Brendan Telker (Telkster)

For the fourth overall pick, I’m predicting that Minnesota Storm left winger Brendan Telker will be going to the New York Americans. The Americans need wing depth, and Telker provides just that. His scoring touch and his shooting skill will help the struggling United potentially get a championship in the near future. His 83 SC stat stands out in his build, and explains his 115 points (57G, 58A) this season, and his whopping 367 shot total this season. An offensive powerhouse, quite active, and he has the point production to back him up. A very solid 4th overall pickup for the Americans.

     Round 1, Pick 5: Reylynn Reinhart (Ricer13)

I believe that the Malmo Nighthawks will be selecting defenseman Reylynn Reinhart with the fifth overall pick in the draft this year. Reinhart is a beast: 64 points (27G, 37A) in 72 games as a defenseman, granted offensive defenseman, but still. She can put up points, be defensive with 80 shots blocked (SB) this season, and quarterback a power play with 14 PPGs. A defensive, offensive, and special teams unit. A player who can play on any line for a team like Malmo who desperately needs depth. Their best defenseman, Marshall James Frostbeard (Frostbeard’s player) is close to retiring, and is losing TPE gradually. If they choose Reinhart with this pick, they can throw in a very important piece to their core, as Ricer updates frequently, and is GMing for the Calgary Wranglers currently. Reinhart is the real deal for defensemen in this draft. Hall of fame potential, with an incredible drive to win. Very solid fifth overall pickup.

Round 1, Pick 6: That Dude (Cornholio)

For the sixth overall pick, I’m predicting the Toronto Legion will take centerman That Dude from the Minnesota Storm. In season 76, Dude had a very good season, scoring 75 points (30G, 45A) in 72 games, 14 of those goals were on the power play, and he had 239 shots. There is a simple explanation for his play, and that is in his SC stat, which is 80 alongside his DF stat. He also handles the puck and skates very well, as his skating (SK) and puck handling (PH) stats are both 75. Sure, some would call his build “generic,” but I would call it just fine. Considering how he updates frequently and in large amounts per week, knows where to put TPE into, and how the Legion need centermen, it’s a really good pick for them. I believe that Mr. Dude has the potential of being a very reliable first line centerman down the road, scoring at least 70 points each season. Very good player, has offensive upside and a scoring touch. Sixth overall this year fits him well.

Round 1, Pick 7: Aurelien Moreau (Frank)

With the seventh overall pick in this years’ VHL Entry Draft, I’m predicting that the Calgary Wranglers will select, from the Mississauga Hounds of the VHLM, defenseman Aurelien Moreau. When you look at the stats for Moreau, one thing hits your eye: his 88 DF stat. That makes him an amazing defensive player already, but that combined with his 77 SK and his 70 checking (CK) stats solidifies himself as one of the best in the draft. While the Wranglers may look stacked in defense on paper, most of those players are old, and approaching their final seasons. Their top defenseman RJ Jubis (Jubis’ player) is retired, and General Zod (Matt_O’s player) is close to hitting the retirement point. So going out and getting a guy like Moreau would be smart. A very good defensive player, he deserves the seventh overall spot in this year's entry draft.

Round 1, Pick 8: Zeedayno Chara (Jubis)

For the eighth overall pick, I predict that Miami Marauders defenseman Zeedayno Chara will be picked by the Riga Reign. Chara is a two-way defenseman with 81 DF and 75 SK and PH being his strong points on his build. His 60 SC stat makes him capable of producing some points, and he has proven that, putting up 29 points (2G, 27A) in 36 games this season with the Marauders. He can lay the body around, and block shots with 55 hits and 50 SB. He got one of his two goals on the power play, making him a solid presence on the man advantage, and his ability to play defense well makes him a solid penalty killer too. A very good all around defenseman, with the ability to set up an offense and lead the back-check. Potential to be on a top pair and maybe HOF if he continues to produce. Solid pickup on a team like the Reign that can always use better defensemen to backup their young offensive core.

Round 1, Pick 9: Rolf Fizzlebeef Jr. (TacticalHammer)

Taking a glance at the Helsinki Titan’s defense, they’re top players are leaving soon, with very few prospects to back them up. That’s why, for the ninth overall pick, I’m predicting that Las Vegas Aces defenseman Ron Fizzlebeef Jr. will be selected by the Titans. Fizzlebeef Jr. possesses real talent. Being the player of TacticalHammer, he’s very active and max earns each week. He also has a build of 80 DF, 75 passing (PA), 75 SK, and 75 PH and hit you right away. He has an amazing build for a defenseman, and his stats back it up. 57 points (7G, 50A) and 107 shots, 115 SB and 105 hits, and six PPG’s. I would consider Fizzlebeef Jr. to be one of the dark horses of the draft, but it’s still pretty early on.

Round 1, Pick 10: Jan Hlozek (Bojovnik)

The DC Dragons are in need of defensive prospects, and Saskatoon Wild defender Jan Hlozek would provide an almost perfect player for the Dragons. His higher than average SC stat of 76 would throw many off, but it shows potential for some high scoring seasons. His 75 DF and 72 SK stat also catches the eye, and solidifies himself as a solid offensive defenseman. Considering how the Wild were lacking in talent all around, Hlozek was on the first pair, which means he got a lot of exposure. He seemed to handle it well, putting up 59 points (13G, 46A) in 72 regular season games. He had 93 SB too, proving how he can be a very defensive player at times. He would provide a solid defenseman who could make it on the first pair, but the second pair for sure if he continues to update frequently and continue his build. High potential, and solid talent.

Round 1, Pick 11: Miles Johnson (Midnite)

For the 11th overall pick in this years’ entry draft, I predict that the Nighthawks, with their second first round pick, will take Halifax 21st left winger Miles Johnson. During his time with the 21st, Johnson has put up some very respectable numbers, having a 60 point showing (32G, 28A) in 72 games during season 76. His build’s highlights consist of 82 SC, 76 PH, and 70 SK stats. The low defense is a slight concern, but it’s made up for in his SC. A very offensive minded winger, Johnson has put up a whopping 265 shot total in his first season. That goes to show how gifted of an offensive player he is, plus his six PPG’s makes him a valuable asset on the special teams. I cannot wait to see where this prospect goes, considering the talents before him. A sky-high potential, with offensive talent, Johnson fits well on a team that needs LW depth.

     Round 1, Pick 12: Brussels Sprout (Liberty_Cabbage)

For the 12th overall pick, I predict that the Titans will select Storm centerman Brussels Sprout. Since I predicted that the Titans would get a defenseman early on, I went with another weakness they have: center depth. Sprout would provide a solid centerman for their depth, while also producing. His numbers may not be at the level of the other players before him, but he was on a very offensively stacked Storm squad this year, with him being a second liner at best. He put up 18 points (2G, 16A) in 72 games this season, none of which came while on the powerplay/shorthanded. His build is pretty average, his highest of stats consisting of 78 DF, 70 SC, and 66 SK. He has the potential to be a solid two-way forward powerhouse, when given the proper ice time. I like his upside, he has a good build, just needs a bigger stage to shine on.

Round 1, Pick 13: Nixon Caldwell (Kendrick)

For the 13th overall selection, I predict that the Dynamo will go for re-create defenseman from the Philadelphia Reapers, Nixon Caldwell. When the Reapers needed defense the most, Caldwell stepped in, and put up numbers for his squad, scoring 51 points (5G, 46A) in 72 regular season games. His build is more on the offensive side, with 75 PH, and PA, 70 SC, but only 68 DF and 69 SK. Apart from his more offensive defenseman build, his defensive capabilities are shown in many ways, as he put up 96 SB and 79 hits this season. Not the best defenseman in the draft, but certainly not the worst. He’s a very good player with some great upside, I could see him playing first d-pair to second d-pair for the Dynamo within a few seasons from now. He’s also a re-create, making him a very attractive player in the draft. Would I call him a dark horse? No. But would I call him a talented player? Yes.

     Round 1, Pick 14: Kyle Glass (Tbeez99)

This pick was going to come sooner than later. For the 14th overall selection, I predict that the Vancouver Wolves will take 21st right winger Kyle Glass. Glass is a pretty big playmaking forward, considering how he got 58 points (19G, 39A) in 72 games this season. Most of his points were assists. His build is quite nice, the highlights of which, consisting of 75 SC, DF, PH, and SK. Very balanced offensive build, which is a good thing to see. Considering the state of Wolves forwards, many of which will be unrestricted free agents (UFA) in two seasons from now, the point of time when Glass would be in a very solid state to produce for the Wolves. A well built, offensive capable winger, I think the Wolves would love to have a player like Glass leading the charge on their offense.

Round 1, Pick 15: Joshooo (Joshothegreat)

For the 15th overall pick, I predict that the Warsaw Predators will take Ottawa Lynx centerman Joshooo. When looking at the numbers that Joshooo has produced, you automatically see the 121 points (49G, 72A) in 72 games that he has racked up this season. Sure, he may be on a shorter than average Lynx roster, but 121 points no matter what team is incredible. His build has notable points, consisting of his 75 SC, 72 DF, and 70 PA and SK. More into puck handling would’ve made him look like a powerhouse offensively, but he doesn’t yet have the TPE to raise it up to 70 yet. On top of his point totals, he also put up a whopping 456 shots this season alone. That explains his production somewhat, but also he was on a weaker Lynx roster. Since the Predators need center depth, Joshooo provides that and more. Sure, he might only claim welfare and practice each week at least, he still updates frequently, which is a must. A true dark horse in the draft, in my opinion. Talented and contains first line potential.

     Round 1, Pick 16: Hadrian (bluesfan55)

For the other Wranglers pick in the first round, I predict that they will take Mexico City Kings defenseman Hadrian 16th overall. Hadrian is a great example of a two-way defender in the VHL, having 80 DF and 70 SC being his two main attributes. He put up some respectable numbers being a defenseman, with 33 points (11G, 21) in 72 regular season games. That, along with his 98 SB and 177 hits this season, tells me that he is that two-way player I predicted. His build is nice, he has potential (with his updating) and he boasts some talent on the blue line. I think he will do well for the Wranglers in the seasons to follow.
    SECOND ROUND:

Round 2, Pick 17: Trevor Wallace (LilHCorny)

Round 2, Pick 18: Barron Kruulenstien (LefLop)

Round 2, Pick 19: The Loch Ness Monster (LuLuSalesAway)

Round 2, Pick 20: Aldwin Craig (Eldredman)

Round 2, Pick 21: Gary Tarantino II (Garrett)

     Round 2, Pick 22: Joe Madison (Brewins15)

Round 2, Pick 23: Elvis Michael (ATST)

     Round 2, Pick 24: Griff Mackenzie (HoneyBadger25)

Round 2, Pick 25: Gustislav Nasherov (Vat)

Round 2, Pick 26: Declan Wolf (MrShark)

Round 2, Pick 27: Donne Taliferro (Wally)

Round 2, Pick 28: JaredN Jr (jared)

     Round 2, Pick 29: Kirby Pandora (PandaBearD25)

the pitstop before the main vacation

Normally when you miss a bus for a team event you simply call the Owner, General Manager, Coach and they will send another to get you or will come back for you. Well this was not the case for Assistant General Manager TJ McLaren, Hounds player Miles Johnson, and hounds Defender Elvis Michael. This is a story of Mystery, Bonding, and Doubt.

The Mississauga Hounds had arranged a small mini team vacation to Maine, to help the team de stress and refocus on the mid season point of an up and down season. Everyone boarded a bus to the airport at 3 am in the morning, boarded their planes at 6 am, then arrived in Maine at 7:30. all that was left was catch a bus from the rural town they were in to Portland. Each person was given a few hours in the town of 500 people, everyone but 3 would arrive for the bus.

McLaren, Johnson, and Michael arrived as the buss was pulling out and TJ instantly got on his phone but there was no service. Now here they stood in a small farming town, in the middle of Maine and no idea how to leave. Hoping the team would notice they waited, and waited, and waited for almost 4 hours. Cars would pass and people would pass and make comments as they saw the three men sitting on their suitcases. A few minutes later Michael said screw it and began walking from the bus stop to the town were he thought they saw a motel, he would at least be war and comfortable. The other two agreed and followed.

The three men would be found three days later naked in a field surrounded by bottles and food and would share an incredible journey. They claimed when they got to the Motel that there was only room left, so they all had to bunk together. Whatever, so they took a night out on the town. If the team didnt notice them gone they would have there own vacation. When walking the streets a few ladies would smile and laugh. Loud music could be heard from one building and the three went in and drank. For hours.

This is when Michael claimed he met an old wizard in the bathroom who gave him these candies that helped him see the truth. After about an hour of trying to convince a wasted McLaren and Johnson they agreed and also took the Candy. They then claimed they were running in a tunnel of lights surrounded by the memories of their past. Then all of a sudden they claimed to be hunted by a man in a straw hat who wanted nothing more then to kill them (it was a scarecrow). They continued to wander around town. Claiming to have met the wizard again and he joined them for a few hours as they took this long trip up the mountain looking for gold.

    the alleged "wizard"

Reality was they broke into a Mini golf course and climbed the plastic sets. Thinking they were time traveling to various times. They even reenacted various famous movies in the process. Before passing out in the field. The weird part is everyone who interacted with the trio claimed they were alone all night, the bathrooms are single person rooms, so there was no “Wizard” and the man they described had never been seen in the town ever. They swore they were not alone, but every account prove they were. The owner of the bar even claimed he kicked them out after a few beers once Michael tried to fight another Patron.

After a few days on the way back to Mississauga is when the team found them, all three men agreed after that day to never speak of it again. While everyone else had a nice hotel, poo, catering the three men here had to fight for their life, time traveled, and made a new friend. I would say that was a good Vacation

Midnite reacted to tcookie in Sound of the Hounds: Playoff Push & Captains Named
    ---

Although it took some time for the Hounds to find their groove this season, there have been some recent signs of life. The team continues to improve as the season goes on, and have now established themselves tied with Philadelphia for 7th in the league, 5 points ahead of the playoff bubble line.

Since a disappointing result in dropping both games of a double-header to the Saskatoon Wild, the Hounds have gone 5-2-0, including a narrow 5-3 loss against Minnesota (30-5-3). “We’re making progress… we wanted to be a playoff team and we’re heading in that direction. It’s encouraging to show we can hang with a contender like Minnesota, but obviously, there is still plenty of work to be done,” says AGM tcookie.

The Hounds have named their leadership group since the last edition of Sound of the Hounds, naming Miks Sunish their captain, and Elvis Michael and Druss Deathwalker their assistants. All three players have reportedly been strong in the locker room. “I was surprised when they told me I was an assistant,” Michael told the media. “We have a great crew, and to know they look to me as a leader makes me want to work harder. We will turn this season around and surprise a lot of people.”

Mississauga’s turnaround has been keyed by strong play from Owen Taylor, who leads the team with 21 goals and 42 points. Miles Johnson has also picked his game up and has 19 goals and 37 points, while the strong play of waiver acquisition Kirby Pandora on defense has continued: Pandora leads the team’s blueliners with 36 points in 36 games.

The Hounds have consistently been a hard team to play against, with a number of players that play the game with a physical edge. With a line rotation that almost always ensures one of Taylor (105 hits) or Deathwalker (155 hits) is on the ice on the forecheck - sometimes accompanied by Sunish (85 hits) - and a blueline featuring feared stay-at-home defender Aurelien Moreau (174 hits), opponents know they’re going to be taking some punishment when they line up against Mississauga. Moreau’s been the team’s best all-around defenseman, with 32 points and a team-high 84 blocked shots to go along with it.

The Hounds’ identity as a grind-it-out, defensive team has helped keep them in games, along with the continued strong play of Luke Spinelli. He’s got an .898 save percentage and is always among the VHLM goaltending leaders. “I have been very proud of how this season has gone for me; I think it’s been a real breakout season and its been beneficial to the team,” says Spinelli. “I also believe getting a full-time starter role has helped me to really be able to show my talent and what I can do for this team.”

    1) Welcome to the newest Hounds, Elvis Michael, Kirby Pandora, and Xavier Lost! What do you think the new players will bring to the team?
Passion and it's always good to have the extra bodies. Hopefully they help us up both our offense and defense.
    2) Do you watch much of the other VHLM games or just keep to the Hounds?
    Just the Hounds
    3) We had a bit of a slow start but it's starting to come around. At time of writing, we're only 2 points out of the playoffs. How do you feel about how the season's gone so far?
Pretty good considering the state that we're in. Truthfully wasn't expecting us to be where we are this early on.
    4) Who do you have as the Hounds' MVP so far?
Tough to say as everyone has been contributing someway or another. Maybe Taylor or Deathwalker.
    5) With the Hounds' play looking up the last few sims, what are you going to do to help get better and keep things on the right track for this team?
Just keep on improving. If I get better, the team gets better.
    6) If you couldn't have been a hockey player, what career would you have gone into?
    Finances I guess?

Pretty good actually. I’m excited to get a rebuilding team off the ground
    2) Are you excited to get back on the ice after a long off-season?
Very. Will be my first season in the VHLM so I’m pretty excited!
    3) Any predictions for yourself or for the team in S76?
Not really. Think as a team we’ll do alright and for myself I’m just looking to be the best scorer out there.
    4) What's your biggest strength as a player?
Getting the puck in the back of the net!
    5) What's the one area of your game you most need to improve?
Will most likely be my defense
    6) Scenario: we've won the Founders Cup and you're in charge of planning the team's celebratory dinner the next day - where are we going?
    Fancy Steakhouse. Anyone of them

Game 6 ends. The score 3-2. The Malmo Nighthawks are your S75 champs. This would be a heartbreaking game for D.C Dragons Ricky Johnson who will not be returning to the league next season with his announcement of retiring. The defensemen would end his final season having recorded 49 points in the season coming from 39 assist and 10 goals. Johnson would be one of 2 players to have played their entire career with the organization and although he was never a standout among his peers or opposition, his presence was felt by all when he touched the ice.

“I can’t even begin to say how grateful I am for the teammates I had around me, the coaching staff and the city of Washington. This place will always be home to me. It’s a shame we couldn’t come through and get D.C the much deserved cup but I have faith they’ll get there someday. Until then, I’ll be taking it easy on some beach or something. All love to this organization and it’s fans” - Ricky Johnson.

Just would like to extend on this by saying thanks to @Enorama and the DRAFONS crew for making my 1st VHL experience an enjoyable one. It was such a pleasure being part of the team. Who knows maybe I’ll end up back with the team some day.

    1. I just learned the concept of someone's "main", and it made me really curious: what's your main sim league?
The SBA is my main league. I've always been a basketball guy but i love all sports really. So the VHL still interests me.

    2. Is your main league the same as your first league? If no, why'd you switch?
Sure is. Stumbled upon it on Reddit (when the advertising through there was still a thing) and have just expanded my sim leagues from there.

    3. Do you find it easy or hard to keep up with one or more sim leagues in your life?
It hasn't been too hard considering all three of them (SBA, VHL and EFL) allow affiliation. If it weren't for that my activity would definitely be a lot less in any league outside of my main.

    4. Someone on the playground tells you they heard Benny Graves got traded. You run back home to check the VHL news and you go to....
    b) Discord. More specifically, my LR. Mostly cause I'm not around the forum too often and don't pay too much attention to the TV/VSN.

    5. Are you here on a mobile, a laptop on the couch, a desktop computer or something else? How do you physically interact with the league?
Mostly desktop computer, but mobile as well to keep up to date on anything going on. Ideally I'd say laptop too if mine hadn't turned into complete garbage.

    6. Fill in the blank: I'm really hoping I get a _______ for VHL Christmas!
A championship. Would be a nice stocking stuffer.

Have to say Stone Wolski. He's been putting in that OT to help us stay in games.
    2. Who's your favourite teammate?
    Can't say I have a favourite cause they're ALL my favourites ?
    3. Any things you'd like to improve on your game?
I do feel like my scoring could be a tad better as well as some fundamentals of my game, but overall i'm pretty happy where I'm at.
    4. What is your favourite drink?
This one is tough cause there's so many. I'm a sucker for a some coconut rum and coke though.

    Love it!

    1. Who's been impressing you in practice recently?
Definitely Xavier leFlamant. He's been lighting it up lately and continues to show up game in and game out. The same attitude that he brings into a game, he's also shown during practice.
    2. Who is your favourite member of the league not currently on the team?
    Honestly, I don't really have a favourite member ?‍♂️
    3. What is your favourite colour?
Blue. More specifically, a nice sky blue.
    4. Do you watch any sports other than hockey?
Basketball is actually my favourite sport to watch. I'll tune in for some MMA/UFC fights, Football, FIBA soccer games and tennis from time to time but that's about it.
    5. Who do you think has been the MVP of the season so far?
Got to go with our goalie Stone Wolski. Has helped us stay in a lot of games this season thus far.
    6. How are you coping with the pandemic?
Just doing what I can to be safe. Honestly life, luckily, hadn't changed much for me aside from limiting where I can go/be. Honestly, I'm very fortunate which has made things easy to cope with. Stay safe out there fellas!

    2. Who is the team MVP through 12 games?
Gotta say Xavier leFlamant. He's been on fire lately. Otherwise i'd say myself..?

    3. Who are you looking at to step up in the next 12 games?
I'd say one of our first line defenders in Flowers or Valentino.

    4. DC is tied for second in the conference, but seventh place is 3 games behind us. How do we separate ourself from this logjam?
In all honesty it's too early to really be looking at the conference standings just yet. Regardless we just got to go out there and play well on both ends of the ice.

    5. What’s your take on the rumour that Stone Wolski might be involved in a goaltending controversy?
This is news to me? What's the rumour!?

    6. If the VHL played the playoffs in a covid bubble, would you go?
    I don't see why not!

    1. Wouldn't say I'm close with many of them. So i'm open to being stuck with anyone i guess!
    2. Similar to the first, I can't say i know many of the VHL Members too well. So I wouldn't want to be stuck with on that's widely known for being the worst i guess
    3. Myself and with Boo
    4. Most likely my brother. Always good times with him
    5. Would be dope to be somewhere tropical. Like Mexico or Jamaica. Somewhere like that.
    6. The lack of entertainment. Would be hard being stuck in one place for so long.

To start, there is no guarantee that I'll recreate here in the VHL. Mostly because my life is pretty busy and given my GM duties over at the SBA, it's hard to be very involved in other sim leagues as I'm one to normally apply a genuine effort towards the work I do. Not just for my own self gratification, but to also help any teams I've joined or will join in the future. Plus by being someone in charge of a team, I'm aware of how tedious an inconsistent earner can be. Enough rambling though, on to what this article is actually about.

    Miles Johnson

For a little background on Miles, He is the younger brother of Ricky Johnson (current D.C. dragons defense man). Having grown up watching his brother play most of his life, Miles decided to pick up the sport himself and has already surprised many at his young age. Unlike his brother Ricky, Miles strives to be a goal scorer. Which has resulted in him playing on the left wing. Although he excels at finding his teammates for an easy shot on net, he can be very greedy in wanting to get his own. it has backfired on him multiple times which has resulted in many loses to his young career, he's working on being more of a team player as he continues growing into the player he strives to be. What does that look like exactly?

Well for one he is a scorer as mentioned. Getting that as high as possible would be an ideal first, followed by some passing to a moderate level. Johnson will most likely be a wizard with his stick handling as well as soaring past most defenders. He'll also be no slouch on defense, but don't expect much from him. As said before, he'll still more so look to get his own rather than help keep the puck out the net. He won't be much of a fighter nor will he have much strength to be one either. Even so, he'll still play smart on defense to ensure he's not picking up any easy or frustration penalties. He'll win the odd face off or two and will be the go to guy to take any penalty shots when it comes down to it. Ideally his build should look a little like this:

    Checking: 50
    Fighting: 40
    Discipline: 70
    Skating: 99
    Strength: 50
    Puck Handling: 99
    Faceoff: 70
    Passing: 85
    Scoring: 99
    Defense: 70
    Penalty Shot: 80
    Leadership: 40

This is more so of a rough draft seeing as i'm unsure if i'll for sure be re-creating. Given the thought that I do, I would want him to be one of the more premier scorers of his time. The idea of him remaining as a Left wing may come down to the league needs at the end of the day. So he's considered a LW but could be seen as a forward overall for now. Hopefully Miles Johnson will have a career better than that of Ricky and continue the legacy of the Johnson name.

    1. Picking Groovy Dood was a great addition for us. We’ll need help in our forward lines and I’m sure he’ll be doing wonders for us.

    2. Hard to say. It was a very deep class coming into the new season. Anyone could end up being a steal depending on how much work they do. Only time will tell.

    3. Honestly on paper we should’ve been a far better team than we were. So this season I can see us atleast being better than the last season.

    4. I headed back north to my hometown in Ontario. Spent a good portion with my trainer in the gym and on the ice. I’d say about 5 days out of the week for about 4-6 hours a day.

    5. Just sharpening my skills. I’ve been getting older so I’m trying to remain at my similar level of not better

    6. Recently bought a hot tube actually and has been nice!
  23. Cheers

    1. Gino DiGiannantoni. Simply cause the name is awesome.
    2. Hard to single out a specific player. I believe we all need to step up in order to help the team achieve success!
    3. Well every team seems to be pretty well rounded going into next season. I'd put our money on us though
    4. Absolutely. Can't think of anyone better
    5. All of them? Can't say I have a specific one
    6. Pie with ice cream!

    1. Very. It's sucks that we weren't able to make it past the first round, but hey this gives us motivation to work harder for the following year. It can only go up from here
    2. Worked a little harder. Truthfully speaking there are times were I've slacked off and in turn I feel that it may have hurt the teams chances. Definitely need to focus a littler harder on my training.
    3. Take a break. Maybe hit up my lodge in the mountains back in Canada. Then come back to D.C. and get some off-season training in
    4. I'm gonna say Seattle. After beating us I can only imagine that they'd have an easy time handling the rest of the teams. Except for maybe Vancouver
    5. There's so many of my teammates that had. If I had to chose one I'd say Luciano Valentino. He's not only been a leader but also mentor on the ice and in practice.
    6. Our defense definitely still needs some work. Goalies can only do so much and having ended the season with a goal differential of only 4 says a lot about our team.
