  1. Dude! Thank you so much! My favorite team, and the color combos...dude, thanks so much, you are truly awesome!
  2. With the announcement that there would be two new teams coming into the VHL, many have speculated as to where these two new teams would be. Although details are scarce, we do know that two new GMs have been chosen already; And even they are being hush-hush about the locations of the two new teams. The logical placement for the teams would be to place one of the teams in each of the two conferences - one in the North American, and one in the European. This would take each conference up to six teams each, for a total of twelve. It's great to see the league doing well enough that they are a double expansion year, as this leaves the gates wide open for fresh new talent to enter. So, where do we think these teams will be? Who knows, it's anyones game, really. Through some of our sources, which most couldn't be verified so we are taking this with a grain of salt, we have found out one possible team location and name: Los Angeles Rage. Sure, it could all be coincidence, but the name recently was registered for copyright and we couldn't find the name in any other league, so could it be? I think the location leaves something left to be desired, but the name goes with the city. Rage inducing traffic, rage inducing living costs...the name goes rather well. There's just so much else going on in that city, especially sport related. Los Angeles is becoming too saturated with sports teams, and while we think it would be amazing for the VHL to be in the limelight of Los Angeles, they will eventually drown to the overwhelming costs of having a team there. There you have it. Who knows where these two teams will end up, but we can tell you one thing, we are excited about the news.
  3. Hopefully you're a fan of the show, otherwise this quote will mean absolutely nothing... "I made your mom so wet Trudeau deployed a 24 hour infantry unit to stack sand bags around my bed."
  4. Review: Okay, you're seriously talented. I hope you post the other sig you showed me in Discord, because both this one and that one are amazing and sick as hell. The text effect is kick ass, and it looks like there is a texture effect on the player - which I dig. Overall, great job. You seriously blow my damn mind with the stuff you crank out. Keep it up, I am a huge fan.
  5. Review: This is probably one of the cooler effects in a signature that I really dig. I like how everything fades away, and the different fonts used just makes this sick as hell. The background is amazing. Great job! Don't think I could have done it any better. Seriously, I couldn't come close.
  6. Review: This is bitchin! I could probably complain about the size, but it's not even worth it. It plays into the whole graphic. I love how you tied the background color in with the jersey color, and the whole graphic has this old school feel to it, like I am looking at a magazine article from the 70s. Font is simple, ties well with the whole thing. Great job!
  7. Review: It's awesome, and I may be bias just due to the fact this is the team I am on, and Minti is one of my fav players on the team. I think having the size it is makes it look a bit blotchy and distorted? You have it as your signature, and it's a much smaller size so it looks amazing. Great work, keep it up!
  8. Review: Digging this one! The effect is awesome, and the border adds a nice touch. Like Zeno says, maybe a logo would just help it out some, but really, it's such a minor thing. The weave texture fade is pretty cool, I like it. Did you experiment and try it different sizes and opacity? Great work!
  9. Review: Okay, this is slick. All your backgrounds in every single graphic you do blow my damn mind. The effects, the player cut...everything is just too damn perfect. Your designs have this simplistic feel to them, but they are just breathtakingly amazing. Great job!
  10. Review: This is amazing! I don't know how everyone is doing styles similar like this, or if it's part of a PS thing - but I dig it so much because it's simple, but looks amazing at the same time. I think if I had to find one fault with it, would be the logo being behind everything. It doesn't take way from the graphic at all, so it's minor if anything. Great work!
  11. Review: This is simple, and awesome. Love how you altered the colors, and placed the logo on the jersey; and the VHLM logo on the upper chest. Not really much to pick with this, I wouldn't have done a thing different other than fail at every attempt. Great job, keep up the good work!
  12. We're heading to the playoffs...not like that was ever really a doubt. We've dominated all season long, we've earned this right to be here, we've earned the right to be battling for the top position. And as players, we've earned the respect from our coaching staff; Without them, we wouldn't be in this position, we wouldn't have this chance to be battling it out with the best in the league. We have a game in hand over Philly, and yet people want to doubt us that we can hang on to the top spot. Just watch and see. Wait, and watch as we get ever closer to grabbing that title. Again. It feels great to be part of such an awesome team, be part of a family that has done a great job looking out for one another throughout the whole year. I couldn't ask for a better group of guys, and it's going to be hard saying goodbye to them come draft time for the VHL. Bittersweet, it will be. We only have a handful of games left before we hit the playoffs, and I am as thirsty as ever for the wins, and for that bigger prize - the championship. You can bet your ass we're practicing harder, putting in double the effort; it's go time, baby. Word Count: 218
  13. We are nearing the end of the 67th season here in the VHLM, with about a dozen games or so left on the schedule it's going to be nothing short of interesting as we get ever closer to that final game of the season. Last week didn't bode too well for us, as the possible scenarios we laid out between Minnesota and Houston didn't pan out the way we had originally thought; However, hindsight is 20/20, and we will yet again look to harness the powers of the crystal ball as we try to predict yet again a possible shuffle in the standings. WHAT WE KNOW..KIND OF If there is one thing we can almost for certain, without a doubt, guarantee...is that Minnesota will finish out the season in the third place spot. This is almost a certainty, as they currently are riding a hot streak of four games, and are 10 points ahead of the fourth place Yukon Rush. Yukon is the only team that could really threaten Minnesota and overtake them for the third place spot, but honestly it doesn't seem feasible as it is far too late in the season to catch up. The San Diego Marlins will probably stay in the seventh place spot they are at in the standings, being 21 points behind sixth place Houston, and 12 points ahead of eighth place Las Vegas, it appears they will ride out the remainder of the games looking to expand that gap between them and the Aces. KEEPING PLAYOFF HOPES ALIVE While Philadelphia and Ottawa are busy battling it out for the top spot in the league, which will delve into a bit, one thing to keep an eye on is that coveted eighth place spot. As mentioned before, Las Vegas currently sits in that spot with 39 points. Which means for the time being they are in the playoffs if the season ended today. It's not ending today, and there are enough games left that they could see their playoff dreams shattered by the team sitting only two points behind them, Saskatoon Wild. Both of these teams are coming off a loss in OT which could be considered a missed opportunity for both clubs; Had Vegas won, they would have expanded the distance between them and Saskatoon, while on the flip side, had the Wild won, they would have closed it. Still, being separate by two points this late in the season where teams are trying to gain points to get further up the standings to have a better match-up in the playoffs makes this one item to watch out for in the coming games. THE BATTLE FOR FIRST The two juggernauts of the league, Philadelphia and Ottawa, have been in a close fought battle for the top spot practically all season, with the Reapers clinging to that top spot for the majority. At one point, Ottawa was only a single point behind, and now find themselves two points ahead with a game in hand of the Reapers. This is likely to change, as Ottawa would need to win the majority, if not all of the remainder of their games, while Philadelphia would need to lose the majority of theirs. This is all just taking into consideration the points left up for grabs to solidify the first place spot. It is really anyone's game at this point, and don't be surprised if the two swap places over the last few games before the dust finally settles on who is top dog. HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM... Last time, we predicted that it would be entirely possible to creep up on Minnesota and overtake them for the third spot in the league. Not only did this not happen, Houston fell from the fourth spot and down into the sixth spot. It looks like we may have jinxed the Bulls in their hunt for third, and we'd like to offer a sincere apology if you are superstitious. Although, Houston will most likely not fall any further than the sixth spot, but do have a chance to move up to the fifth spot if they can chain some wins together heading into the playoffs. IN CONCLUSION The last handful of games are going to cement where certain teams land themselves for the playoff seeding, while others who remain well outside the realm of even having a chance in the playoffs are looking to play upset and shake up the seeding a bit. Some things to look for heading into the final stretch will be teams experimenting with new line changes to find that extra spark heading into the playoffs, and where the middle of the pack end up come seasons end. Until next time, thank you for reading, and we will see you in the VHLM Playoffs! THE CRYSTAL BALL PLAYOFF PICTURE We are going to lay it out all on the line and be a bit ballsy here for a moment. We're going to look into the possible match-ups for the first round, and keep in mind, this is all guess work at this point - somewhat. If you'd like to join in on the conversation, post your first round match-ups in the comments. #1 Ottawa Lynx v. #8 Las Vegas Aces #2 Philadelphia Reapers v. #7 San Diego Marlins #3 Minnesota Storm v. #6 Halifax 21st #4 Yukon Rush v. #5 Houston Bulls Word Count: 896, using for PT week 8/25 @uphillmoss
  14. @DollarAndADream Holy crap! Thank you so much! This is amazing! Thank you so much!
  15. Coming from someone as talented as you, this means a lot. Thanks!
  16. Gold - Canada Silver - Europe Bronze - USA MVP - Ambrose Stark *Rolls dice* Let's goooo!
  17. 1. Minty Fresh is killing it. I am gonna go out on a limb and say he gets close to 153 points; let's say 145. I won't be shocked if he hits that pace for 153 though. 2. I've turned into an assist machine as of late, which is still cranking out points. I currently have 58 points, so if I can get close to 100 I will be happy, and hopefully speed up! 3. The locker room banter. It's always fun, and chatting with everyone has been a blast. Also, the amount of talent people possess with graphics is insane. 4. Seattle, not sure how early or late, hopefully early. 5. I think it can still be fun being on a team who isn't having the best season. No matter where I go, win or lose, I think I am going to have fun regardless. 6. I like Discord, it's easier to see where everything is at as I still have troubles with the site. The team locker room on the site doesn't seem as active, and it's easier to post something on Discord where you can see who is on, and people can reply immediately and you see it; not having to reload, refresh, etc.
  18. 1. Colorado Avalanche. Have been a fan of them since they came into the league, and I was in my teen years when they moved to Denver. Was my grandfather's and my team, and it was fun rooting with him for the Avs. Still a huge fan to this day, and have a ton of collectibles. 2. Formula 1, NCAA Football, MLB, NBA, will watch some NFL occasionally but don't really follow any certain team, and have recently started watching Cricket. 3. Might be tempted to join the SBA, but time will tell. Doing this right now has been a lot of fun, and I don't know if I could juggle two sims and other real life stuff at the same time. 4. I think the top spot will change back and forth for the next week or so. We're 1 point out of first behind Philly (as of this posting), so if they lose in regulation, and we win then the spots shift. I think it's gonna be a battle, and that's pretty damn exciting. 5. Moving up to the VHL would be awesome, but at the same time, I don't want to move up and only play a few minutes a game for the first season or two that I am there. To me, that's wasting seasons in the little amount of seasons you do get to play. I might stay down, just to see how it pans out, but not really sure. If I can get a team from the VHL who will draft me and give me some decent minutes so I have a chance to produce, I'll likely consider it. 6. As of right now, we're 32-7-1, which is stellar. There's a reason we're #2 and nipping at the heels of the #1 team. I don't see why we can't finish the rest of the season strong, end up with a 60-10-2 record. Realistically, it's gonna be a lot lower than that, but hey, a guy can dream, right?
  19. I nominate the alternate logo to be the new logo, jfs. This is amazing.
  20. Welcome to another installment of VHLM Insight! The top three of the VHLM hasn't shifted much, as a matter of fact - it's the exact same top three: Philadelphia, Ottawa, and Minnesota. However, don't let the unchanged landscape within those teams fool you, though Ottawa still holds the second place spot, they have closed to gap and are only one point behind first place Philadelphia. So let us dive into the top three, yet again, but this time - let's look at the possibilities of seeing a shift in placement, and specifically some scenarios that could play out that could see a new team emerge at the third place spot. Looking at the information from the graphic above and continuing on from our introduction, Ottawa has closed the gap from four points to just one from last weeks installment, while Minnesota went from being back by only two points behind Ottawa, to three points back. I really don't foresee Philadelphia and Ottawa falling out of the top three in standings, though, it is very likely the two swap spots back and forth as the next few games play out. The audible here is Minnesota, who is currently riding a four game win-streak, as they currently sit three points behind second, but are only five points ahead of Houston; who is also riding a four game win-streak. Though it is unlikely Minnesota falls out of third and into fourth, the scenario is still there if they were to lose the next few games in regulation while Houston picks up wins in any fashion. Again, unlikely as it may seem, Houston has the momentum right now that could carry them into the third place spot in the standings; although it could be said of the same for Minnesota, who has all the momentum to keep themselves in that spot. HOLD THAT THOUGHT Minnesota will travel to Philadelphia for their next game, with both teams coming off a win. The last time these two teams squared off, Philadelphia won by a score of 3-2. As close of a game as that may have been, the win came in regulation, giving Philly the two points, and Minnesota nothing but a loss. The Reapers are hot, there's no denying that, and you can absolutely bet that they will lay everything out on the ice to keep their stranglehold on first place intact, despite Minnesota's winning streak. Houston, on the other hand, will travel to Mississauga to take on the Hounds. When the teams met each other the last time in Houston, the Bulls came out on top by a score of 5-2. Even though the Hounds aren't riding that last place spot, they are still within the bottom three that is only separated by two points (20 points for Mississauga, 19 for Las Vegas, and 18 for Mexico City). And remember, Houston is riding that win-streak heading into the game, so if Minnesota loses to Philly in regulation, and Houston wins in any fashion, that lead dwindles, and the scenario of Houston possibly claiming that third spot is entirely possible. HOLD THAT THOUGHT...AGAIN Following a game with the Hounds, Houston will play host to none other than Philly. Houston lost to the Reapers 3-2 last time they met, and in regulation. However, as close as the game was, if Houston wins against the Hounds, extending their streak to five, it is still entirely possible heading into the home game with Philly that they come out on top. Well, that does it for this installment of VHLM Insight. Thanks for reading, and if you have a suggestion for a topic for a future installment, feel free to drop me a message and I will see what I can do.
  21. Review: Overall, pretty slick graphic. I like the smoke effect in the background, and everything ties rather well. I think my only fault with this would be the text choice. Maybe a different shade, a bit lighter? It's a cool font, I think making it stand out a bit more with a gradient or adding a more smokey effect to the font, too, would make it pop out more. Great job, keep it up. You're getting there, old man.
  22. Review: Awesome graphic. The player cut is nicely done, no weird cut off angles; and I think the whole effect just ties really well into the graphic. Not sure what I would have done differently, as it's pretty solid and perfect as is. Keep up the good work!
  23. Review: Like this one a lot. The effect tied in with the text really pays off on this. I think it's hard to really find anything wrong or what I'd do differently, it's just a simple graphic and it does what it intends to do. Keep up the good work!
