Season 82 Semi-Finals Presser:

1. Toronto's season is over following a 3-1 series defeat to the Seattle Bears. However, despite the series ending in four games, every single game was decided by one goal, with the Legion fighting hard in each game. What's your takeaway from the series?

We're almost there, we just need to improve a bit more and possibly get a reinforcement or two.

2. Who do you feel was the MVP of the Toronto Legion this season?

MATTY FIRE.  That guy's hot

3. You're the new Toronto GM, who are you looking at in the upcoming Season 83 VHL Entry Draft?

Probably Kowalski or Sakamoto, either player could be instrumental in us becoming dominant in a few seasons.

4. Now that Toronto is out of the picture, who do you see winning the Continental Cup?

Probably Moscow, they have an extremely strong team

5. What's something that you think would make people think twice about saving up for regression fighters if it was added to the player store?

Probably some equipment that boosts certain important core skills.

6. Someone has wronged you, what do you do to get even

Ignore their existence.  You don't want them living rent-free in your head.  They chose their path, you choose yours.

Season 82 Regular Season Finale:

1. The big news in the VHL this week came with the announcement of a brand new hybrid attribute system, taking effect next season and effectively ending the era of the meta. What are your feelings on this?

Sounds like a big experiment that will either pass or fail.  Things will get interesting and/or messy, but it will sort itself out in time.

2. Regardless of the outcome of the final games of the season, it looks very likely that Toronto will be facing off against the Seattle Bears in the Wild Card round. What will the Legion need to do to win the Wild Card series for the second year in a row?

Play better than them in all corners of the rink.  It can be done.

3. Over in London, the United have an incredible trio of rookies with over 100 points, something that has never happened before in VHL history. How serious of a threat are they to suddenly represent the European Conference in the Continental Cup Finals?

Not much, really.  Inexperience will catch up to them in some way.

4. What is something you feel Toronto really needs in Season 83?

Elite dman and winger.  We are almost a complete team.

5. Who would win in a fight: Hadrian or the actual Hadrian's Wall?

If Hadrian built the wall, he can take it down?

6. What is the most ridiculous fact you can think of?

Cockroaches are called 'cock' roaches because the small ones can crawl inside a penis.  Look that up

Review time

There's a lot to critique here.  I'll start off with what I like; the render.  Very nice placement, and with the logo swap, it looks pretty great!  The blue blotches on the jersey covering up the Sharks logos is kinda sloppy though, not sure if you know how to remove objects.  In all honesty it looks like an effect; call it a happy accident I suppose!  Not sure what's up with the green laser eye, it looks strange.  The oval around the graphic is a hard pass for me personally.  As for the text, #61 means nothing to the viewer; add your player's name here.  This is a big oversight.

Review time

Pretty interesting concept here.  I like the red and gold background idea with the black diagonal gradient.  It's super simple, but would have looked cool with some effects or something.  The render looks alright, without any effects added it does look like it was just pasted on, no seamless blending here.  Points for the logo swap, it looks a bit big tho.  The text placement would have looked better in the bottom right corner, and the font choice is pretty meh, it looks generic and 'not much thought put into it'.  Not sure what level experience you have with graphics, but if you're a beginner, I'll give you a...

1. The trade deadline came and went rather quietly in Toronto this season. Slow market, or show in faith with the roster currently assembled?

A bit of both actually, can't force anything that isn't there you know?

2. Today was the first day for Season 84 prospects to create, which one do you see being the top pick when that draft comes along?

I'm getting good quality time by myself, its been decades overdue.  It feels good to be still and have inner peace.

6. If you could change any VHL player's name, who would it be and what would you change it to?

Review time.

I just reviewed Franks and gave him a perfect 10, but now I'm just drooling... This is really good.  A full line of your players and near-perfect everything.  The renders and swaps, the light effects, the gradient background and filters are great.  The only gripe I have with this is the text and where it's placed, I don't think it was the right choice.  The font choice wasn't the best either, maybe it was a last-minute throw-in idea?

Review Time

This is dope.  You made everything fit and looking in place perfectly.  That's no easy task to pull off.  All the renders and logo swap are excellent, no critique.  Nice touch with the black faced Emeritus too, glad you picked up on that and pulled it off.  The text placement, font choices and size are also excellent.  The aren't many effects that detract from the graphic, so tastefully done too.

Dude this a perfect 10.

Review time.

Sick.  Very vibrant, almost too vibrant.  The purple and blue prismatic look against a black background is candy, it just pops out and screams 'look at me'.  The circular 'energy ball' looking thing is a bit weird to me; looks like a special move out of a fighting game is about to happen.  Another killer feature is the dust effect on the black background, gives the effect of particles coming off the player: great idea, it ties the whole thing together.  The text could have been placed to the right more, away from the player.  Also not sure if there's a name error, switching the last name and first name's order.

Review time

Looks alright actually.  The background is a bit distracting though, and I'm wondering what the initial idea was behind it.  Maybe it was an 80s inspired Miami idea?  The render looks good, but its too crisp compared to the background.  Points for the logo swap, it looks too small and not properly positioned either.  Interesting font choice, its not my favorite but hey if you like it, that's cool.  Maybe placed more to the right and lower, it could have been bigger.  Would have liked to see more filters or effects to tie the whole graphic together.

1. Toronto has rebounded following their recent skid, sitting at 14-10-2 after 26 games of play. What do the Legion need to do to establish a bit more consistency?

Keep on going.  We aren't a bad team after all, just need some more puck luck as they call it.

2. Hadrian @bluesfan55 recently joined the team through a trade with the D.C. Dragons, what kind of impact can he bring to Toronto?

He can provide us with some consistent veteran leadership for sure.  Glad he's here.

3. Which prospect in Toronto's farm system has really caught your eye so far this season?

Bo Johansson has definitely improved and he's been a bright spot for our future, interacting with us.  Excited to seeing him in Legion jersey next season.

4. Do you anticipate any other trades being made by Toronto before the trade deadline?

Possibly.  Could bring in another veteran skater, but at what cost?  We have a solid nucleus already.

5. What Season 83 prospect do you think would be able to make the biggest contribution to the Toronto Legion?

Ryuji Sakamoto and Brian Kowalski could be good prospects for us in the future.

6. What's your favorite home-cooked meal?

Review time:

I honestly have mixed feelings with this one.  The teal-ish background is a hard pass for me personally.  Love the details and the idea behind it, but the color just does not match.  The font choice and combination, as well as the placement, are an interesting choice; the text could've been a bit bigger...  I love the render and the effects applied to it, I do have an issue with the logo swap though.  It looks way off center or it just looks weirdly placed.  Idk if that's just me though.

Solid 9/10 though

This is cool and tasty af.  I love the font choice and where it's positioned;  the slight offset is a nice detail that doesn't make it predictable.  The light effects in the foreground and background don't detract or cover up anything.  Render looks great and points for that logo swap.  Not sure what's going on with that weird circle in the top left though, or the diagonal white liens going across.

1. One week into the new season, Toronto sits at second in the North American Conference, trailing only the two-time defending champions, Vancouver. Is this the level you expect the Legion to play at this season?

I expected this pretty much.  We're good, but we're still a young group.  Things can go south quickly.

2. After starting the season 8-0, Toronto has lost three of their last four games. What do the Legion need to do to get back on track?

Keep on trucking through.  We will get our streaks.

3. Kyle @Peace is tied for the league lead in goals with 14, and leads the VHL with 28 points. Are we gonna see him bring home some serious hardware in Season 82?

We could, I'd like to see him win a Stolzy, could be the third year in a row that a Toronto player wins it.

4. What player's performance around the league has surprised you the most this season?

Kyle Peace.  Stunning how he just became a dominating presence that we can depend on.

5. Are you aware that Trivia has made its triumphant return? Did you submit any questions for it?

Nope.

6. Other than ice hockey, of course, what's your favorite event at the Winter Olympics?

Probably moguls and snowboarding, that jumps and tricks are cool to watch.

Review time:

Hey man, long time no chat.  Another Cobberson eh?  Are they twins or what?  Good idea to have second renders shadowing the ones in front, but if they were black and white, they wouldn't detract from the main ones.  Add something for the background, plain white is misleading; that would help bring everything together.  Not crazy about the font or text; you could add a "the" at the beginning.  The effect on the font is a nice touch though.  The black dot effect would have been cooler with a background, but at least you can tell where the borders are because of it.  You got some room for improvement and I have no doubt you will!

Review time:

I like this a lot.  Its so simple and concise.  Leaving nothing out, a perfectly sized render with a slick logo swap, the score and the background with the matching color.  What could have been improved on is the whole size of the graphic; it's too big.  Keep the ratio the same, just resize it to like 400 or 450px lengthwise and it's golden.  Maybe add an effect or two to add some tasteful detail, but this on par for a 2-pointer.

Season 82 Opening Night Presser!

1. On the eve of Season 82, what expectations do you have for the Toronto Legion as the new season begins?

I expect us to do well, maybe surprise some people and maybe ourselves.  Mostly I'm expecting us to be good enough to win a playoff round.

2. Otto Numinen was the leading scorer in Season 81, so after his retirement, who will become the offensive leader for this team?

Peace and Fire are taking the reins of this young, gifted juggernaut.

3. What team do you feel is the biggest threat to win the Continental Cup this season?

Maybe Vancouver?  Maybe us?  I like us.

4. Toronto recently hired a new AGM, what were your thoughts on the new addition to management?

Excellent.  Has plenty of experience and hes our biggest cheerleader, so it's an awesome piece for us to add to our corner.

5. Who is a musical artist you don't feel gets enough respect?

Dream Theater.  They should be mainstream, they're so damned talented and experienced.

6. Will anyone take down Pistil Stamen to become the Unofficial VHL World Heavyweight Champion?
