Jubis reacted to Beketov in S84 Brett Slobodzian Trophy Voting
With still 6 players over 100 points and 2 over 120.
To be honest this is closer (still better than most but closer) to regular goalie stats than what we’ve been saying lately. It might be a tad inflated but nothing insanely substantial and less than we’ve seen before. I think people just got used to goalies sucking for the last 10 seasons.
No one on that list is undeserving of the Slobo at all but I don’t think one can just say “well goalie numbers are inflated” to discount Papa’s season.

Jubis reacted to Ricer13 in WJC Commissioner Hiring
First of all, thank you to all those that applied.
I needed to make this decision quickly, as the WJC’s are starting right away! The person I have hired is someone I haven’t had the chance to work with in the past. I feel the experience they have from their tenure in the league will be very valuable for the WJC’s. With that being said I’d like to congratulate @Enorama on becoming the new Co-Commissioner of the World Junior Championships!

Game Recap
VHL PLAYOFFS GAME 47
DAVOS DYNAMO
VS
MOSCOW MENACE
FINAL SCORE:
OT
MOSCOW 4
DAVOS 3
Ex VHL foward turned Sportsnet broadcaster, Sigard Gunnar had this to say about the game. Gunnar: "Honestly will this be that pivotal game where we look back and say the Davos Dynamo let one slip away right through their fingers? I hope not. Davos held a 3-2 lead midway through the 3rd period , thanks to a beautiful goal by Vinny Detroit. He skated down his off wing , deked one way and went around the defender the other way and immediately ripped a shot that beat Emeritus five-hole. Detroit looked up and blew a kiss towards Vladimir Puttin who was in attendance. At this point things were looking great for Davos , after losing game 1 they really needed this win. All the Dynamo needed to do was shutdown the Menace. The rest of the period was back and forth. Moscow pulls their goalie at 18:30, and scored immediately at 18:40. Henry Le Massif had a bouncing shot sneak past Davis. What a crushing blow for the Dynamo.
Overtime was all Moscow they ended up outscoring Davos 6 to 1. In a span of a few seconds Moscow had 5 shot attempts. The 5th by Jason Argos was the game winner. Let's see if Davos can even up the series with their next 2 games at home. "

Jubis reacted to animal74 in The Legend of Deathwalker
The captain sat alone.
Only hours before, he had played in his final VHL game. He scored his final point, an assist on the game’s first goal in a 3-1 loss to the Calgary Wranglers. At the game’s final buzzer, he was mobbed by his teammates but he quickly pushed through them toward the Calgary player leading a line of Wranglers to shake his hand. He and former Nighthawk teammate Brendan Telker embraced at center ice and then stood together to shake the hands of players from both teams. Drafted by Malmo only six spots apart in the acclaimed S77 Entry Draft, the two friends played in 432 regular season and 55 playoff games together, and helped Malmo win the Continental Cup in S79. As this was Deathwalker’s final game (Telker would continue to play in the playoffs with Calgary), everyone then vacated the middle of the ice and the Scottish giant then took a lap around the rink and waved to the standing and cheering crowd.
Now, the locker room was empty except for the hulking hunched figure sitting by his stall. The dim moonlight hazing through an above window faintly illuminated the green jersey that had been his life for the past eight seasons. The sweat on his face dripped to meet the tears from his eyes and continue down his beard to the large “C” over his heart. This was it. The end of the line. But he couldn’t bear to take off the Nighthawk crest and leave the locker room. Not after all the hard work, the time, the blood, sweat, and tears. All the tears of joy and celebration after winning the Cup, all the tears of realization and resignation that trickled down his face right now.
And so the captain continued to sit alone with his thoughts.
Even though he hadn’t been the most productive offensively as some in his draft class, that was never his role or his goal. He was a physical specimen and a warrior. Someone who led by example, with heart, determination and no fear. He paved the way on the ice for his teammates through physicality, grit, and intimidation. He wanted the rink to be a hostile environment for the opposition. And in the blink of an eye, his career was over, but his influence will be felt in Malmo and the VHL for generations to come. He truly is a Legend.
Select accomplishments of Druss Deathwalker:
League

In a schedule post-game press conference, Deathwalker read from a prepared statement to the gathered media:
“As you can imagine, this has been an emotional night. It has been an honor to play in the VHL and for the Malmo Nighthawks for the entirety of my career. The game has given me so much and I look forward to giving back in the near future.
I would like to acknowledge how proud I am of my team and individual accomplishments especially our Cup win in S79 and more recently, becoming the VHL’s all-time leader in career hits – both goals I worked extremely hard for and ones that I will remember for the rest of my life.
I would like to thank and acknowledge my fellow S77 draftees for the inspiration and competition they provided for me over the years. It was a historic class of world-class players and I am proud to be part of this group. Special kudos to those drafted ahead of me and were on my infamous Hit List:

I would also like to thank the management of the Malmo Nighthawks for taking a chance on me and allowing me to grow and lead and a HUGE thank you to all of my teammates throughout my career. It was an absolute and unforgettable honor to be your captain for the last seven seasons.

Jubis reacted to KRZY in Comparing the Houston bulls to NHL players
I saw the post for the Red Wolves counterparts and thought it would be fun to do this for the Bulls as well ! so here we go this is all my opinion based on what I think everyone brings to the team!
Todd Cooke ( l1l KRZY l9l ) Centre
Auston Matthews
This killed me to put in here as I’m a hardcore oilers fan but the comparisons to Matthews in my opinion were there and I couldn’t ignore them. Cooke has a similar build to Matthews just slightly taller . He puts up points , puts the puck in the net and contributes on the defensive side of the puck each shift , kills penalties he does whatever is asked of him ! Cooke has worked hard to prove he can hang with the best at this level look for him to continue to get better as his career progresses!
Daniel Weaver ( @ThePerfectNut) Left Wing
Jamie Benn
Weaver plays a physical position game much like Jamie Benn he’s the power forward that every team would love to have . He also has the outstanding leadership quality as the Bulls Capitan . Weaver scores goals , puts up points throws huge hits and does whatever his team needs for them too win ! Definitely in the conversation for team MVP this year !
Jani Karppinen ( @ShawnGlade) Defence
Cale Makar
Karppinen has been the power play quarterback/shutdown D man . Whatever the Bulls have needed he’s been that and more for them . Among the league leaders in multiple stats for defenders in the league he should without question be in the conversation for top defence man in the VHLM this year !
Brayden Albrecht ( @Gage2) Centre
Roope Hintz
Albrecht has been phenomenal for the Bulls this year plays wherever he’s been asked . He does his job very well and is a key contributor to the Bulls . Much like Hintz he is an offensive driver putting up almost point a game numbers . His importance to this team Can’t overlooked
Phil Strasmore ( @Phil) Defence
Victor Hedman
Since coming over earlier this season Strasmore has been a calming force on the backend . Contributing in every possible way the Bulls could have ever asked him too ! He’s got size , speed , great hockey IQ overall a solid add this season to the team !
Isamu Knievel ( @TMGSosa) Defence
Torey Krug
Isamu was I believe an early season waiver or free agent claim . He’s a pit bull on the ice . His teammates love him and he plays his heart out every game ! Don’t let his size fool you this guys plays like he’s 6 foot 4 !
Damien Steele ( @73MPL4R) Centre
Nick Suzuki
Steele was a huge acquisition midway through the season from Miami . He’s come in and played excellent two way hockey for the Bulls this year ! Easily one of the top defensive forwards in the league . He can also produce at over a point per game clip as well !
Izaak Bobs (@izaak ) Defence
Colton Parayko
Bobs has been a top shutdown guy this year all year playing up and down the line up ! Easily having chemistry with any of his d partners ! Bobs is huge in size and defensive impact ! His value can’t be overlooked he is a key player in this d core !
Lloyd Braun ( @Toast) Defence
Noah Dobson
Braun is a promising young defender with all the makings of a future top 2 guy ! He’s been a huge mid season acquisition for the Bulls , expect him to get better from here on out !
Ronaldono Ronaldono ( @ThomasSyster) RW
Tage Thompson
This guy has been an absolute force since coming over from Miami. His size alone helps him win pretty much every puck battle and makes putting up points a breeze every night . He’s complemented the top line nicely and proved to be a very valuable asset going down the stretch
Johnny Kalamazoo ( @KzooJohn) LW
Conor Sheary
this guys a Swiss Army knife he can play up and down your line up . And do whatever is asked of him night in and out ! Provides a ton of energy and is tough to play against .
Joel Roger’s ( @Jrocket09) defence
Erik Johnson
provides great depth and stability to the defensive core , all around solid player that can play anywhere in your lineup easily .
Daryl Dixon ( @Ricer13) RW
Kailer Yamamoto
spark plug energy guy , relentless on the forecheck , can chip in offensively and defensively as well . Never takes a shift off , has been a solid depth forward since he was picked up !
Yaroslav Bogatyrev ( @Bojovnik) RW
Josh Anderson
Great power forward that can create plays deliver game changing hits and really impact a game whenever he’s on the ice . While not always the most flashy his impact is felt one way or another!
Rick Grimes ( @tinafrombobsburgers) C
Ryan McLeod
Very valuable depth centre , his speed and ferocity can impact a game in so many ways ! This guy is a star in the making , big things coming from him in the future !
Bill Nye The Puck Stopping Guy ( @Big Newff) Goalie
Igor Shesterkin
FRANCHISE Goalie in the making , the back bone of the bulls this season . He can single handedly steal game for them or dominate from start to finish . Either way he’s going to be a top goalie for many years to come !
Ash Sparks ( @DarkSpyro) Goalie
Spencer Knight
Lors of promise from what we’ve seen so far , has huge upside . It’ll be interesting to see how he handles the gradual increase of workload .
so there you have it my opinion on the players that beat match the bulls players . This took way longer then I thought it would be I had tons of fun writing it . Thank you hope you enjoy the read !
