After falling further than he predicted in the VHLM draft forward Matt Thompson of the Ottawa Lynx is looking toward the future instead of the past. “Obviously I did expect to get picked up earlier but I’m not going to dwell on it. We have built ourselves a very strong team in Ottawa and I think we have a very legitimate shot this season of getting ourselves a Founder’s Cup" If Ottawa can manage that feat Thompson’s name will be engraved on the cup for already a second time after he signed late last season with the powerhouse Yukon Rush. If pre-season is any indication it should be doable. The Lynx went 5-0-2 in the pre-season; with their only losses coming to Las Vegas. While they have started 1-1-0 in the Regular season the team believes that they can get their lines sorted out and get some good chemistry going. “Our team chemistry is amazing in practice; we just have to find that right combination come game time and stick to it. The VHLM has more competition this season than it has seen in a long time so there’s a lot of teams gunning for wins right now. It won’t be an easy season but I’m expecting it to be a good one." So far Thompson has managed a point and an assist in 2 games. Nothing to write home about but matching his production from the end of the regular season and all of the playoffs last year.

It definitely hasn’t been updated in sim for awhile. I created at the deadline and still have my creation TPE levels. We’re definitely aiming to have that fixed though.

I think it’s been discussed before but was kinda decided that it didn’t really have much of a market. Even just taking welfare every week and nothing else you’ll hit 200 pretty quickly; if you actually do Pt’s It’ll be even faster and then what, you sit around for 6 seasons doing nothing? Plus the whole point of the minors is to eventually get good enough to be drafted in the main league. I can’t see many wanting to go for this.

1. Do you think being viewed as "the old man of the VHL" is accurate in your case? 2. Historically you have made amazing players but you have been gone for awhile. What kind of production and activity should GM's be expecting from you this time around?

1. What brought you back to the VHL? 2. How do you think Ottawa's chances look heading into this season? 3. The VHLM rosters are far more full than they have been in a long time. Thoughts?

Preliminary opinion right now is looking like Quebec to be honest. It's the one team that the Beketov agency has never played for (in some regard) and I think what Beaviss is doing with the team seems very promising. Plus being able to play along side Zhields would be fantastic; I think we would really make for a great top pairing. Obviously it hasn't worked out exactly as I planned in the past but my build with Thompson is intended to be a sniper build; plain and simple. I'm all about getting the shots and putting as many of them in as I can. I am curious about being a two-way type player though so maybe we'll see if that starts to develop for me as well. Obviously my last two players have no cups so that's my primary goal right off the top. I've been able to capture the cup with most of my players but I've been struggling lately so getting my name on the Continental Cup is my main goal. Individual awards and the HoF would be amazing as well but the cup is my main focus. Slightly more out there goals would probably be the triple gold club. I have step one done with the founder's cup already and I've never done it so that would be interesting.
