  1. We were out for blood and tonight, tonight it was ours.
  2. The five goals wasn't why we lost, it was the zero. We cannot win if we don't give you any "run support." If Davos is struggling, then I hate to imagine the word to describe the rest of the league.
  3. Hate the Nats so much, but that is too glorious to hate.
  4. Come on now, let's not insult the guy. Also GG bros.
  5. Believe it, brother!
  6. Good game boys!
  7. Content: 3/3 - Back to the grind! Also, how the hell did you meet all these NHL players? Grammar: 2/2 - Started to get sloppy, but you were able to reel yourself back in and avoid getting docked. Hockey Stars cause Havoc During Concert = Hockey Stars Cause Havoc During Concert where the continued to drink = where they continued to drink took us too next = took us to next the gladiators = the Gladiators Segs = Seg's (?) Appearance: 1/1 - I take back what I said about Katy Perry. Overall: 6/6 - You know you love having this graded an hour after it was posted.
  8. Content: 2.25/3 - Very well-written and an entertaining read, but unfortunately short of the word count. One more paragraph and this would have been full marks for sure. Riggs has been a very pleasant surprise for Oslo and it will be bittersweet to see him "graduate" at the end of the season. However, we are here to get the "younger guys" to the next level and I'll be rooting for you all the way! Grammar: 2/2 - Very well done here. Appearance: 1/1 - Overall: 5.25/6 - Use Word Counter before you submit your media spot to make sure you hit 450 words next time, capice? FINAL: 5/6
  9. Content: 3/3 - The History Channel lives on! I'd have to say I agree with your analysis, if you gave up what ultimately ended up being a VHL legend and didn't win any Continental Cups in the process, you lose that trade. However, I think that used up most of Vasteras' good luck. Grammar: 2/2 - I didn't see a thing... either you're really improving or I'm really slipping! Appearance: .5/1 - Lack of a picture hurts here. Overall: 5.5/6 -
  10. You got it, chief. Random factoid: The #1 killer of the Civil War was actually dysentery, not wounds received from battle.
  11. It was at a USO-style dance in Gettysburg, PA. I was wearing the suit with a matching fedora and someone left their fez (wearing a Zouave-style Civil War uniform) and I could not resist trying it on. I ended up wearing it for the majority of the night after that. Speaking of Civil War uniforms...
  12. HEL G nearly stole one there. Nearly. GG all!
  13. Way to go, boys! Big win over a very tough team!
  14. Content: 2.75/3 - Come on Warren, you of all people should know that when a journalist gets something wrong, they retract/correct it! Until you get a grade, you can edit the media spot all you want. Grammar: 2/2 - Solid as always. Appearance: 1/1 - Awww yiss. Overall: 5.75/6 - FINAL: 6/6
  15. Content: 3/3 - Definitely one of the more amusing stories this week. I for one did not mind the no-show by Katy Perry. Totally ok with that and the fact that you got in a media spot as opposed to welfare. 'Tis the season for buzzer beaters! Grammar: 1.5/2 - I concur with Slobo here, he sure makes my job easy sometimes. Appearance: 1/1 - Absolutely, mon ami. Overall: 5.5/6 - You still get the six, no worries! FINAL: 6/6
  16. Content: 3/3 - Can't wait to see where the distribution of VHL talent has been in the United States to this point. Really curious to see how that one will be categorized. Grammar: 2/2 - One little slip-up. Shane Banks = Shane Baker Appearance: 1/1 - The patriotism moves me. Overall: 6/6 -
  17. Can't wait to get another ring so I can plug both of my ears and never have to worry about hearing Riga ever again.
  18. A Very Dynamo Birthday DAVOS - As if another great season from the HC Davos Dynamo wasn't enough to celebrate, the team recently gathered to celebrate a trio of birthdays within the organization. Right wing and captain Thomas Landry, defenseman Matt Bentley and General Manager Victor Alfredsson all celebrated birthdays this week, but perhaps their greatest gift of all was the celebration thrown for them by their teammates and friends in the organization. "Any time that Naomi Young jumps out of a cake and cross checks Damon Tyrael in the face, you're gonna have a good time," said Bentley, unable to hide a smile as he recalled the incident. It is unknown how Tyrael was convinced to attend, but rumor has it that he was either propositioned for sexual intercourse by Young herself or that a cure for douchebaggery had been invented, but mailed to the wrong address. "I pulled a few strings," chuckled Alfredsson. "Let's leave it at that." Good players, good humor and good cheer are abound in Davos this season. With a young core of players, dedicated leadership and rabid, voodoo practitioning fans, the Dynamo figure to be a menace to the VHL for seasons to come. 19. Looks like we were two days and... some years apart?
  20. This thread just continues to deliver.
  21. House Calls From the Captain DAVOS - To some, being the captain of the team means little. Just another thing to get stitched onto your jerseys. Something to make you stand out. Getting your name on the ballot for the Grimm Jonsson Trophy. However, for Thomas Landry, the captain of the defending Continental Cup champion HC Davos Dynamo, wearing the C is much more than that. Being a captain means being a leader off the ice as well as on the ice, which is something Landry has taken to heart. "I've never seen anything like it," said teammate Jarkko Olsen. "Tom will just find you somehow when you're at your absolute lowest and by the time he's on his way, you're out of whatever funk you were in." In actions similar to house calls made by doctors in the olden days, Landry has been known to take time to visit teammates who have been struggling and seem distracted by issues off the ice. For those who know the captain, it's only fitting that his personality and fondness of going the extra mile for his teammates applies just as much off the ice as well as it does on it. "Landry was one of the first pieces of the current team to arrive," said Davos' general manager Victor Alfredsson. "It didn't matter what the team needed, he was willing to embrace it 1000% and shatter all expectations. When I approached him about becoming a more physical presence for the team, I don't think anyone could honestly say they saw him going from two hits the season before to becoming one of the top hitters in the VHL. He's brought that same passion to being a leader for the Dynamo." However bizarre as hanging out with teammates off the ice may seem, there have been noticeable results. After taking the VHL by storm at the center position in his first two seasons, Davey Jones has taken a bit of a step back on the stat sheet. His usual energy and confidence has suffered as a result, which resulted in a visit from his captain, a longtime teammate and friend. The very next game, Jones notched a goal and an assist. He proceeded to explode for a two goal, two assist performance against the New York Americans two days later. "I'm not a magician," says Landry. "All I do is what I would expect a captain to do for me if I were in their situation. If you take care of the boys, they'll take care of you on the ice." However, there is one player that has managed to elude Landry during his house calls. "Elude isn't really the right word," elaborated Landry. "I've been able to track down Naomi Young, but every time I find her, she's in the middle of sexual intercourse. I might go above and beyond, but even that's too much."
