  1. Ottawa offers 1m because I'll never turn down a guy if I have space, but there are better spots for you right now
  2. Officially, Higgins is the GM, but Boubs acts like it often enough

Guimond is decent (I wanted him added, he wasn't part of the initial offer) and the 4th might get me something, but yeah there wasn't much left. It's fine though, I'd rather these guys can go to a contender (and frankly, if I was in Bora's spot, I probably wouldn't have been adding much either). I even said in the GM forum I'd take an underpayment.
  4. Well, the deal was in before midnight CST, for what it's worth

  7. To be honest I kind of always thought Rathod was as well
  8. @Beaviss EST not PST. Spade needs to get on in 2 minutes or I'm fucked
  9. Also, I'm hoping to have a player in this, maybe 2
  10. Let's see if this works Snubbed
  11. It was Nagger, for any of you who have been here long enough to remember him
  12. I tried to, once back in the day. Turns out it was a guy who his non-PT activity was kind of his thing, and so he turned it down. Sucks too, because I feel like I could have won S20 cup with Ottawa in addition to S21 and S23 if he and I could have gotten into some sort of agreement about writing articles - there were only a few half decent goalies in the VHLM at the time, this guy had something like 30 TPE or so from random giveaways and free weeks (before there was a starting 30 TPE) and with regular articles could have put me on the level with the other 2-3 competitive goalies. Bern won it that year, with an 86 TPE inactive goalie, sadly that was just about the best that was available, and the same guy won it with me the following year.

As the last place team currently, I think of it more as postponing the cup to next season. If all goes well, my active - but 2 season VHLMer - goalie will be at his peak next season. So will the one drafted forward. Shipping off an inactive in his last season of eligibility for a pick that will at a minimum be 15th, in general it seems like a move that benefits me. Also benefits Smarch as well, as Yukon gets another depth piece for the cup run

  16. Every team makes the playoffs
  17. Not guaranteeing anything (so don't officially put me down, and if they both get taken, so be it) but I might be able to convince myself to do either Chris or Coach
  18. Fair - it's VHLM inactives, so kind of the least priority
  19. Many PMs, tags in posts, etc have been had - you seriously think I don't know this by now?
  20. He's kind of right though. I have no D on the roster. Two guys that were supposed to get moved to D (inactives, approved by Will, but last I saw they hadn't been changed in the file by Higgins) so my whole team is forwards and him. Granted, the forwards are built in such a way as to be complementary to each other (3 of them anyway) so there are some defensive aspects to that, but team-wise we're worse than we should have been. Part of what I was banking on is that the VHLM never had a full roster of active goalies - except for the one time I'm expecting that to be an advantage, then somehow everyone has one (well - Frank and Kora are not really doing much currently, but have built up enough already to be effective)
  21. STZ is one of my favorites on the whole site of course, but I do have to say I think Ree had just as successful a run with the mag - Ree was a tad before your time though
  22. RIP Davide Astori. Captain of Fiorentina, died in his sleep at 31. Fiorentina are extending his contract and paying to his wife and daughter
