  3. Fuck I hate whatever team Kyle is a fan of.
  4. Not getting penalties? Who are you and what have you done with Encarnacion?
  5. Happy, sad, confused-ish? Boss got fired, might accidentally a promotion. Sucks because he was a good boss, also because fall is my busiest time of year and I might end up missing out on things I've already paid for or otherwise planned on doing. Potentially good because once everything settles, I might either end up with the store, or replace someone somewhere else who takes the store. This would mean more money which is always a good thing. if you want the tl;dr version, read only above this line and below the other line, ignore the part between. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Basically this: each store has a "Store Manager" which we will abbreviate as ST. Most larger stores have an "Assistant Manager" which we will abbreviate as AS, my store is small and does not have one. All stores have at least one "Shift Supervisor" which we will abbreviate as SS and many stores, especially ones without AS, have two. We have two, I am one, the other is an older woman relatively near to retirement. It is pretty much unanimous that I am better at the job than the other SS despite being in the position for a far shorter period of time. Even she believes this to be true. Additionally, with her being so close to retirement, it would be relatively pointless for any promotions required from this to go to her. I've been near to two different promotions to AS in the last several months, so it's probably a fair assumption that something, one way or the other, will end up giving me a promotion out of this. What would be simplest and require the least number of moves would be to just give me the store. Make me the ST and bring in some SS's from other stores to work a day here or there, just so the other SS and I can have some days off, until someone is fully hired. I doubt this happens, mostly because it would involve me skipping completely over AS. I'd certainly be capable, I also think that the people at the district level would agree since both my last reviews have been high enough to have to go through them for an approval (so they know how well I do by seeing the scores) but it would be a PR nightmare if there are other AS's at other stores who have been waiting. Sometimes it's not only about being capable, it's about being capable as well as being in the best position already. What I would guess will happen: There's another store, it's a little farther away but still super local, where I worked for two months to train when I first got hired. They have an AS who has been with the company for some time. She could take over the store I am currently at, and I could replace her at the store where I used to be. To be fair, she hasn't gotten a store after being in the position for some time, so there might be a reason (either on their end or hers). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ One way or another I think this will work out positively for me, but it sucks to lose a good guy from the company (he did something that most people would consider a positive but it opened up a can of worms with HR and they had to do the bureaucratically correct thing, even if it wasn't the best thing). Most of all, I feel bad for his kids, at least until he finds something. As for myself, I hate the uncertainty surrounding all of this, even if it ends up coming out as a positive. I like knowing things, I don't like being unsure, and this will leave me unsure for weeks until it's all straightened out.
  6. VAS gets MF Percy Miller CGY gets S42 4th Accept. I can't really have a retired 200 TPE guy on my cap this year. I don't mean this deal to be any disrespect to Miller, he's been active and I value that, but if he's up in the bigs and retired I need to maximize my cap and he's not that.
  7. I want a bobblehead for the piece of skin with a face, when is her bobblehead night?
  8. I can't see the update forum
  9. Then give me yours and I'll try to add you
  10. Metis updated most of the team, but skipped over me and two others.
  11. What I said was imagine how much better we'll be with lines. If we're capable of beating you with the auto lines (and beating you proves we are capable, that's simply a tautology) then our chances can only go up with lines. Nowhere in there does it say, or even imply, that we are a lock to beat you. You inferred that of your own choice, it was not implied. If you're insulted because other teams have a chance, then maybe a competitive environment is not for you.
  12. We did accomplish something. That something is winning a preseason game. Not once did I or anyone on Calgary say we're already on top of the conference, in fact I specifically said we don't know yet, if you'd bother to read. You won last season, good for you, but you also have not accomplished anything this season, just as we haven't. That's because this season hasn't started. No one has accomplished anything.
  13. What are you trying to accomplish, sterling? Do you want me to say that new York has 100% chance of winning the cup this season? That's simply not true, and if it was, why are we playing the season? Do you want me to say that New York is better than Calgary? Regardless of if that is or isn't true (and as of yet we can't determine it anyway) you have to know better than to try to get the GM of Calgary to say that. Do you want me to say that on paper you are better? Sure, but not by as much as you want to think, and certainly not by such a wide margin that the season is predetermined. We can beat you on an individual game basis and prove that, if nothing else, with this exact game. All that's needed in the playoffs will be four of these. We may get it, we may not, but we don't know that yet. You don't know that yet either. That's why we play the season.
  14. Paper champs win paper titles
  15. It's your job to think that. You're trying to antagonize, which is good for starting a rivalry, but yeah I'm not having it. I like most of the people on your team (you included) and I'm not going to say something negative just for the sake of this. New York is supposed to think New York is better, Calgary is supposed to think Calgary is better. If, on the other hand, you want to convince a member of Calgary not to think his own team is better, then that's even more folly and not going to happen.
  16. Note the 121 in the OP...
  17. You're New York, it's your job to think nothing of Calgary up until our fourth playoff win over you. I'm Calgary, it's my job to think we're the next greatest team. Until the playoffs, none of this can really be determined, so it's too early to say we'll get owned when it matters. You can't really determine that yet. What little evidence we have (this game) suggests otherwise. I agree that one game is just one game, but I also don't think that a Calgary win can in any way be used as evidence that New York is still better.
  18. One themselves I appreciate the effort, but do try to match tenses next time.
  19. Won this one without anything even remotely resembling lines, imagine how much better it'll be when the auto-players aren't in there
  20. Interesting to see how this turns out. 90% of the "errors" are British English, and correct in that form of the language. Not sure what will come of it (whether they instruct HawksFan on the differences and what not to correct in the future, or they just leave it go) but since this article is Victor's, I suspect the former. In any case, it's a simple enough thing to have happen. A lot of new graders have done exactly this in the past, so it's no issue either way as long as it doesn't affect his final.

  22. Don't you ever tame your demons, but just keep them on a leash.

  23. As long as there are distance running events, Calgary should be decent (although Sterling would win it for NY)
  24. Weird part is that Mario Addison isn't really playing that poorly himself. Johnson, who was great in the past, has declined so much since offensive lines are able to scheme toward him now, since Hardy isn't on the other side.
  25. With the way we've been playing the last few weeks, you could send out 11 clones of Trestman's mother on defense and still beat us
